Run don't walk as far away from this company as possible!! I live in a condo, so the HOA has the contract with this company. In May I began to see termites inside. It takes an act of congress to get hold of any one from this company and when I finally was able, I made an appointment, they were a no show! After 4 months of BS stories from Terminex finally have a lovely tech who immediately saw the "pin hole" and treated it! She is leaving the company, she reported today. This company has been a no show or they don't tell you they are coming. I was told by 1 male tech that "if you see any evidence of termites let us know" My dud, just because I am an older female does not mean I am stupid! I saw evidence of termites, took pictures and they were never treated until today! The HOA is also a problem but that's for another day! I checked my auto debit from Terminix for my service and noticed they charged me too much, so I called the customer service number and spoke to a representative and asked why I was over charged, the representative said I was charged a 6.5% price increase without notice. When I explained to her that companies can't just steal money from their customers, because that is what it is, I give you authorization to take a set amount of money for a service and when you take more money than I authorize you to take its theft. I would have thought since Terminix has an ongoing class action lawsuit against them for theft they would now realize it is wrong to steal from their customers. I do not know if this is an issue of mismanagement in the Sarasota office or a systemic issue company wide, but when someone trusts you to auto debit their account do not violate their trust by stealing from them. The sadist part is the representative actually said that she will put in a request for Terminix to send me a rate increase letter, and she was serious. This is not how this works a customer does not request that a company sends them a rate increase letter after the company has stolen money from them the company needs to send a letter before they take additional money from a customer. Since I did not get a letter, I believe this is in retaliation because the Sarasota office broke a contract with me and then kept my money until I called to complain and still took approximately two months to return my money. I have been a customer for a long time and Terminix is really going downhill from the experiences I have had with them in the last couple of months. read more

Have a home in LBK and had an appt with this office and tech HAYLEI to do an inspection on 4/8/24. Luckily we have 8 cameras and to our surprise after seeing the report that was uploaded that their was "No visible signs of termites found" we watched the cameras twice to learn that the tech was at our home for a total of 3 minutes. When we watch the footage the tech basically got out of the vehicle snapped a few pics and left. NEVER inspected or looked for anything! Pulled up on April 8th at 2:11 Pm and pulled out at 2:14 PM. A whopping 3 minutes. Another rep called today after I ask for a re-inspection and when I mentioned the situation he seemed to almost defend the tech. We are disappointed in the borderline fraudulent actions of the company. Buyer Beware 5-13-24 UPDATE: Customer service rep called and I ask could she call me back in 30 min. She yelled into the phone and said "I WILL NOT BE HERE IN 30 MIN" so loud my wife heard her from 5 feet away. Just another failure buy this company. She never followed through. No call back when she will provided Nylo fume bags for food protection before fumigation schedule. Call her, text her try to find out what is going on. No response. A long line of some questionable people have been showing up to my house for 2 years now. Paid $2k for service plan to rid the house of rodents, still have rodents. Now it is the next year, paid $200 for service plan but am told the service plan only allows someone to come out every 10 days. So dead rodents stay just above our heads out in the crawl space . Oh yeah and scheduling people to come out and giving you a time frame then no one shows up, calls, texts, nothing. That is always fun. read more

I requested an inspection on Tuesday and it was scheduled for Wednesday at 1. I took off the afternoon costing me $300 which I told to the customer service agent that I would be taking the afternoon off for this. When the technician did not show at 1, I called the company to inquire if the inspector was coming out. They told me the appointment was from 1-3. I said okay and waited. At 3:30 the technician did not show so i called the office and was told that they did not know why the technician did not show. He had completed one service call and no others. I had them come out to do a free estimate. Crystal Rood checked my attic and said she saw trails in my blown installation, but no droppings. She said it would cost me $900 for them to set traps and plug all the openings to the outside. My son said I should get other estimates because he felt that was high. I got 3 more and they all said there was no evidence and no "trails" of anything every been in my attic. The Crystal, who said she would email the pictures of what she saw and the cost, never sent me an email. I called Terminix several times and they kept saying they would contact her and finally they told me a week lady that she has never returned their call and they would send someone else out to redo the estimate. We paid $1188 for these people to come out and remove what was in our attic. They set traps and said they would check them every 3 days. I had to call several times to get them to come back. The technician seems afraid to go up and check the 2 areas. One of which is in my master bedroom closet. He removed 2 dead mice. He said he would have the office call to schedule the next appointment. They never called. I called multiple times. My master bedroom smells like dead animal. I spoke to customer service. Good and effective service, nice employees. Had to call them back once, but not again. But...we gave Terminix permission to extract its $81.23/month fee from our bank. They did so twice, then the third time, they only took $61.76. A couple weeks later, we get a billing letter saying a payment of $19.47 is overdue! We had to call and tell them THEY took the lower dollar amount from our bank. It was a line item amount that we saw, but figured they knew what they were doing. That was our mistake. Have three accounts with Terminix and when I actually needed them they are miserable to deal with. I have visible live termites uncovered by a remodel, I explained to them my situation and the first time we had an appointment "Chris the Terminix Technician" claimed to show up early and since nobody was home he left. I stayed home from 1pm to 5pm waiting on him without so much as a phone call. He made it out a couple weeks later and said yes you have termites, well thank you Mr. Termite Monitor! He wasn't prepared to do anything and said he would come back tomorrow. So here I am the next day and while driving there Chris calls and claims he got there early and checked his gun and it wasn't working. Said he would be back in 30 Minutes, been an hour and a half now and no call again!! Called the local branch and spoke with Manny who claims he spoke with his supervisor who will make it his top priority, we will see at 4:30pm on a Friday.......... read more

Posting for my Grandmother. Everything is great, unless you actually need termite treatment. First, I am a 90 year old widow, and I have never seen a company treat someone so poorly. They provide false advertising about the services provided. I was swindled out of money for service that was not properly done, was told I needed to spend more than necessary for treatments and remedies, and was given the run-around for months at a time. All the experience I have had is from the Sarasota office, which coincidentally changes management more often than any company I have ever seen. I have dealt with numerous people from service techs (James Diggs, Louis Ross) and management that was supposed to help resolve my issues (Timothy Robbins, Vinnie), and others. I paid over $1300 for treatment and service after noticing termites in my home. I received a marginal treatment plan that did not fix the problem. They were terrible to get a hold of, and gave me the runaround in even getting people out to inspect and treat my house. The service technicians lied and said they tried to come to my house to treat it, but were run off. I was told I needed to destroy my front porch so they could access the damage at one inspection, and told that the entire house needed to be tented during another inspection. Neither of which turned out to be true. Management that is supposed to handle complaints don't resolve anything, and gave excuse after excuse. Eventually, I had to pay again for the same "service" to have another company come out to the house, inspect and advise whether the porch needed to be destroyed or the house needed to be tented. They said neither was needed to complete the treatment. They also notated that there were no drill holes in any of the cement under my house, nor any evidence that any treatment was ever completed. In one inspection and treatment, the other company did more to provide service and treatment for my termite damage than Terminix ever did when I tried for over a year to resolve my problem. read more

Convinced my mom she had a rodent infestation after offering an unsolicited inspection during termite related visit. Claimed she had rats in her attic and if she didn't do something they would climb down her a/c vents and have babies in her house! Then charged her 1400 for 5 empty traps all placed at the same location in the attic, "plugged " a few small "holes" (no photo documentation) and "sanitized" only to find out there were NO rats! Refuses to provide an itemized invoice or physical contract and resorts to scare tactics targeting older vulnerable communities. BEWARE!!! I'll try to be brief..Terminix, nationally recognized, been around forever and trustworthy, right? WRONG! At least not this branch. Contracted to install termite plugs, remove batt insulation, clean and disinfect attic and blow in cellulose. Con man, I mean salesman, Richard Bruno wrote us up for nearly $6,000 for the job!!! Swore up and down he would be there every step of the way to supervise the job as he indicated he was a FIELD INSPECTOR. Not only did he NOT show up, he never even bothered to return a call when things started spiraling out of control! Employees came to our home smelling like weed and removed some NOT ALL of the Batt insulation, NEVER cleaned or disinfected and lied saying they did! Blew in the cellulose insulation in about 50% of the home, leaving huge piles in some areas and none in most and left!! Absolutely CRUSHED our cold air return line, sliced open vents (by accident?). Busted through our ceiling in 3 different areas and destroyed our attic ladder! More importantly. my wife contracted a massive ear and throat infection due the morons kicking our can lights around and causing the cellulose to pour into our home like snow!! My wife tried adjusting the can lights to prevent more insulation from pouring in and obviously got the insulation in her ear which in turn caused the infection. As a result the GROSS NEGLIGENCE, the Terminix staff were left with no other choice but to turn it over to their insurance company, Zurich. I have since collected on the damages to the home but still waiting on additional medical records to proceed with that portion of the claim. We wanted them to get rid of our pest problem.when the man came he also said we had termites. We originally sign for the $400 plan. So he said that the termite protection would be an additional $60. So he told us that he could do a termite and pest bundle package for a better price the next thing we know it went all the way up to $1,100 Plus. Also one of the times that one of the Reps came out they had my friend sign a paper that they said was it they had only been here for a visit but then we found out that they had her sign a contract. I had previously contacted the dept. of agriculture and put 2 and 2 together I sent an email to them to close the case and that I was just going to pay to get them out of my hair and the next day I get a phone call from Tyler, from what I can see the dept of agriculture most likely got in touch with them since I just received a phone call last night wanting to know if the case was resolved so I am not giving Tyler any credit for this. The Terminix serviceman, who should have been at our home that morning, NEVER had the courtesy to cancel our morning appointment. He FINALLY called at 3pm and said he would show up later that day. By then, we had already scheduled someone from another company to meet with us. We called Terminix and cancelled our account immediately. As a loyal customer with Terminix for many years, we've lost trust in Terminix. Their "commitment to delivering more than what is promised" falls short. The customer service provided to us was unexceptable. We have been paying thousands of dollars to protect our home from termites and when we really need help, we were given such a run around. And now, because of this horrible experience, we have to pay another company thousands of dollars to do what their company should have provided us. They had to come to my house 5 times, every time with the guarantee that I wouldn't have anymore problems with the cockroaches, I still did after every single visits. No results at all. And as if that wasn't enough, they charged me a second for no good reason. I tried to talking to them and explaining it to them in multiple occasions, but the representative wouldn't let me talk and would interrupt me every time I tried to. At the end they threatened me with reporting my "debt", to credit company and getting it written on my credit. I ended up paying twice for something I never got results for. I was very upset and disappointed. We have been customers since 2006. Terminix has gotten so big that it's automated service has taken over and you can't speak to anyone locally! They schedule appointments without the customer's input and cancel appointments without calling!! When asked to speak to someone from the local office, they put you on hold for a long time. People on Longboat be careful....I had an elderly gentlemen come to my home to quote a job. I have a rodent(s) in the ductwork. I was told the job would require two people about a half a day to cover/screen the estimated 10-15 access points on my roof. A 1 year 'guarantee' and then 200/yr 'maintenance' fee afterward. He came to me with a quote of $2800! You do the math... 10 hrs labor.... must be some expensive screens/material/cleaning fluids and fuel/gas to get to longboat because last I checked, labor rates weren't that high. Now I understand a large company like terminix needs to cover higher operating costs as they are higher than the smaller outfits, but seems extreme to me and I wonder sometimes if certain locations are targeted/priced differently. Anyway, go get other quotes (always best to get 3). The other two quotes came in line with each other and well below terminix quoted price and were logically tied to hours/labor rate...the material cost is small...galvanized steel, foam possibly, etc....look for insured and warranty coverage. These companies also provided much more details about what they'd do, they walked around my property and we talked about various access points...very informative. They also went on my roof (yes, they had a ladder which sadly did not happen with Terminix) and discovered that only 3 of the 6 roof access points needed screens as others were covered properly. I didn't get a pretty map of my property with little rodent pictures and an 'impressive' site assessment checklist of where they think they are hiding like terminix did. Just please be careful and ask questions, get more than one quote. First time I ever wrote a review on a quote, but I feel compelled to let people know about this. I cannot tell you whether this company I have decided to go with will get the job done, but certainly the quoting experience and information provided has made me feel I have made the best decision. read more

If it would be possible to give them NO star, I would do it. This is the worst company that I have experienced in my many years as a Property Manager. The communication is terrible, their service is a big fat ZERO and they are not reliable at all. At a customers house that is under contract with TermiNIX for many years, they always talked the owner into spot treatments for termites. This doesn't work and I found live colonies in the attic. The first inspector was not able to fit through the attic access, so a second guy was send. Yes, they are live. Will have to treat them. No, you don't treat them, you fumigate the house. Well it was setup for May 28, guess what they were no shows, not even a call as to when they are planning to do it.
