This review is for the Orkin Pest Control and Bradenton. Nothing to do with termites. I had roaches and ants and spiders. I went with them two years ago and to this point I have no success I've been through it with several technicians who were very nice and even gave me their personal number and came back to follow up on what they had done. All they really did was leave traps around in different places and said oh yeah you have roaches you have ants yes but they never did one thing about it except give me a $50 bill every month and after two years. I finally quit paying the bill they immediately put me in collections. I suggest you stay 1,000,000 miles away from Orkin. There are no good if you want to talk to me my number is 941-737-8060 and I can totally verify what I'm saying is true. They're not nice people. The manager hung up on me when we were talking about a solution and he didn't like it so he hung up on me. They're very rude and they'll prove it to you. If you use them, good luck! read more

Proceed with caution! (or rather do not proceed at all). 0/5 stars. This company and branch way oversells. I truly believe they took advantage of my 82 year old father to the tune of $15K+ !!!!! My father thought $1500. Multiple workers implied the work was not necessary, nor would they do for their old parents. Pictures show the work was not necessary. My father was never given a paper copy or email of the work until weeks later at my continued request. The work was completed the next day not giving him time to get other estimates. FYI - though they are not medical personnel, my father was in heart failure at the time. As soon as he was observed by anyone else he was taken to the ER (out of breath, confusion, etc.). Sickening that they did not notice. I did end up getting a $900 discount so final bill was $14400 of which "they are making no money"! read more

This company was recommended by another local pest control company that does fumigation. I called and spoke to rep. Steve and was told in order to obtain a quote for their services, an inspection by their inspector is required to be present. Told him I am out of town for a couple of weeks, and my brother can let the inspector into my home. Steve said they will not do any inspections unless the homeowner is present, no explanation, just kept repeating himself like a parrot. Thank you, Steve, for the crystal clear clarification!!! So, long story short, this company will not conduct an initial inspection of your home, unless you can present an id showing your name matching the deed to your home, no exceptions. Even if someone lives with you full time, but their name isn't on the deed, don't bother calling. Top notch customer service from this company. read more

The first tech that came to my house didn't do a very good job, but the follow up with the lead guy Chris and having a new tech named Miguel come out to my house worked wonders. They have given me their personal cell phones to follow up with and have been on top of it ever since. I just wanted to make note that sometimes everything isn't perfect When you hire a company-and yet they made it right and went above and beyond. I would recommend them to anyone as far as pest control for any type of critter you have. Thanks so much Orkin for making it right and following up with the best customer service! Outstanding service. Up in St. Pete i used someone else and while they were effective the customer service was lacking, not here at the local Orkin. Ken continues to do a great job of getting rid of my neighbors rats. Who ever thought it was okay for chickens to be allowed in residential zones should live next to the rodent infested and diseased birds that would scare the white sheet off of Casper when they lay their eggs. I have an enclosed lanai under the main roof with fine mesh screens and sliding vinyl panels behind the screens. In March of 2019 I found a swarm of drywood termites in the lanai with a pile of discarded wings on the tile floor and live termites between seat cushions. So I called Orkin for a free inspection, an apparently knowledgeable inspector came out and inspected the lanai and attic and concluded they got into the lanai from the outside, attracted by a lamp shining into the lanai. but didn't get into the house or attic. But I kept asking him how did such a large swarm get past the fine mesh noseeum screens and vinyl panels which I keep closed, he said they can slide through a crack the thickness of a piece of paper. A year later in March 2020 I noticed a small pile of termite frass on the tile floor below the wooden header that supported the roof over the lanai screens. The termites were in the header all along, and that is where the swarm came from in March 2019. That explains why the screens and vinyl panels didn't stop them, because they never went through them. They probably got into the header through a crack on the outside, made a colony in the header, and then swarmed from the header directly into the lanai. So the termites had a whole year to continue to eat away. Fortunately they didn't swarm into the attic in that year, and I eliminated the colony in the header using foaming termicide. So the lesson I learned is, if an inspector can't explain how the termite swarm got there, get another inspection until you find an inspector who can figure it out. I learned a lot from the inspector, but I would have rather had the colony found and eliminated in March of 2019. read more

Orkin is a TERRIBLE company. They did NOT show up as scheduled and only did half the work by not coming inside as well as outside. I did pay them in full after trying to negotiate a lower price, but they would not budge. They were paid in full last February, and I just received a letter from a collection agency stating that I still owe. STAY AWAY or read the fine print. They should be ashamed. read more

We hired Orkin for a Termite problem.. Was over charged for treatment that did not work. Ended up tenting the house. Costing thousands of dollars. They were not honest up front, I was told I would have credit from the first contract. The job was subbed out to Brently pest control in St Pete. The workers showed up with no shirts on and shorts. Very unprofessional. They we not supervised at all.... Debris was left outside all over the yard.. Inside the house a very expensive lamp was shattered. ( they said they would glue it back together) ! They used my bathroom and left water running in the toliet for who knows how long. The handle was pushed down ! They took a rain gutter off the side of the house and never put it back on. My garage flooded that night when we returned home, from a rain storm ! we were never informed of the removal of the gutter.. There were nails in the porch doors sticking out..and left there. The tent was only left up for 12 hours when it was to be a minimum of 24 hours. Thankful I have photos and documented everything.Needless to say I am sure the termites will be back soon. I do not recommend these companies at all. Call a local company trust me . read more
