The job was supposed to take one day but his ladder wasn't tall enough & ground wet so he came back to finish. After that he said if the birds come back, call him and he'll fix it. I said I just wanted it fixed since $580 is a huge amount of money for me but the solutions up until then didn't work so I gave in to paying to get it fixed. None of his excuses make sense - he even said I need an exterminator which is irrelevant. He said he didn't show because it was raining but that only accounted for a few of the times, not the entire list shown below. Then he said he didn't work on holidays after he told me he would come on Columbus day & that the holiday was not a problem; that morning he said he forgot he had to watch his kids and he would be here in the afternoon - of course, he never showed up. This is a property services company that doesn't keep its word, doesn't care about finishing the job they started and has absolutely horrible customer service. No empathy for the disabled. I just wanted the job done so I said I didn't want to have to contact BBB/ leave a yelp review - I gave him notice so it could be resolved amicably - instead he said if I threatened him, he would not come back. In no way is alerting him a threat! It was an olive branch. Him and his secretary kept saying they would schedule time to come out and never did. Despicable people. He also said he would drop off the invoice copy to my home and never did. I have a photo but he did not do all the work originally listed so the $780 isn't correct but also NOT not a discount. Now I need to pay someone else to fix it. During recovery from 3 major neuro surgeries, this stress/deception is the last thing I need. Stay far away from them.

However, when I started comparing what we were being charged with receipts from the home's previous owner, the rates were higher than expected. When I called to negotiate with CES, they were uncooperative and failed to even call me back several times. No response to emails, either. Combine that with all manner of absurd policies and fees, and I had enough. Another local business, Sullivan County Septic, recommended I take a look at Van Etten Oil (VEO), so I sent an email and got a personal reply from Eli Van Etten, who quoted me a great rate for LP, along with a no-nonsense price to get a new tank installed and ready to go. I was already being treated better than CES had been so I leapt at the opportunity. On installation day, super friendly Mike showed up and put the new tank in, moved the old tank to the perfect out-of-the-way spot in the yard so it could wait for CES to pick it up, then safety checked all my gas appliances and made a couple of simple recommendations that were much appreciated. On top of everything else, they do algorithmic forecasts of your use needs so that the tank gets filled without you having to remember to call, and the price is better, even if you don't buy a ton of gas from them. Win, win win.
