First of all was amazing. I got the shrimp, chicken and scallops with a shrimp appetizer in the soup. Our chef was awesome with the table. We said it was very friendly and everyone, even though we were strangers by the end of the night, we felt like family. We had a great entertainment by the chef. I really enjoyed the female woman. She really did an amazing job cooking food. We had so much food. Everyone had large portions and the leftovers lasted a day and a half. Everyone at our table that did the catching the food in their mouth. Everyone caught something I didn't participate, but it was wonderful and the service was amazing. The ambience was good because it wasn't so crowded. It felt like an intimate setting even though the restaurant probably is always packed during holidays, birthdays and prom season we went at a great time. Thank you for an amazing time and amazing perfectly seasoned food.

I noticed the cook was trying to work with what he had, however my cubes of steak were the smallest ever. It seemed like they tried to make two pieces out of one steak. I ordered extra egg in my hibachi but I don't like that they charged me $3/4 for one extra egg. Highway robbery...... I also really hate how they stick so many people at one table. You end up bumping elbows with your neighbor. The chef did a very good job cooking and entertaining. The ambiance was just like all the rest of the Sakura's.

First off I want to start off by saying the staff here was incredible. I was with my family and did…read morenot have the opportunity to get names, but every single staff member I saw was working hard, diligently, and with haste. Our server immediately greeted us with a great big smile, she took our drink orders and described some of the drinks to us. We put in an order for 2 spring rolls and 2 eggs rolls which were to die for. Perfectly crunchy, crispy, and full of flavor with great dipping sauce! They came out piping hot and delicious. I also got egg drop soup which simply cannot be beat. The soup was not too thick and not too thin or watery. The green onions were fresh. The crisped wontons had just the right amount of crunch. Together the dish was savory and delightfully flavorful. Now, my guest can often be difficult to please (as food must be extremely specific), but it's not ever usually a problem that a "good restaurant" can't handle. They handled it perfectly. We got the chicken with two winter veg, no sauce or mushrooms and add water chestnuts. It came out exactly that way. Perfect. Not only perfect but steamed to perfection. I also got the chicken w winter veggies--with sauce-- which is a brown gravy. What can I say OTHER than it was also perfect!! The meat was cooked to tender, not dry. The veggies were bright and deliciously tender, but still had a gentle crunch (the ultimate dish style!). My husband got the orange chicken and the spice was absolutely divine. The orange chicken sauce was pungent and sweet. If you like heat, this one is for you!! The chicken was crispy under the layer of aromatic, REAL orange flavored sauce. My other guest got the Mandarin combination plate, which featured a host of veggies, surf and turf meats, and a spicy brown sauce on top. Again, meat and veg cooked to perfect tenderness, with the veggies snapping and crunching just enough but tender enough to enjoy. Drinks were a teapot for the table (which may have been a bit strong for my guests, but I drank it!) A coconut punch (non alcoholic), which is a virgin iced Pina Colada. I didn't expect that, but I still guzzled it down. It came in a parrot glass, too!! So fun!! The rest of the table got coke and tea and were just as good. (Yes I tried everything). And we came here because we've been seeing their really amazing TikToks and want to contribute to bringing this WONDERFUL restaurant back into the folds of the community and wrap them in support. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

I had an extremely upsetting experience on August 18 at the Bonchon located at 3059 Waldorf Market…read morePlace in Waldorf, Maryland. I placed an online carryout order scheduled for 1:19 PM and arrived around 1:30. Another customer was being assisted at the counter, so I patiently waited. A male employee came from the back and began calling names for carryout orders. Because I couldn't clearly hear one of the names, I politely asked him, "Excuse me, sir, do you have an order for Katrina?" I want to emphasize that I was speaking to the male employee distributing carryout orders, not the woman assisting the other customer. She nevertheless interjected, "When your order is ready, we'll call for you." I simply responded that my order was already ready. As I said this, the male employee retrieved my order from the rack and handed it to me. I took my food and began walking toward the exit. The woman told me to "have a nice day" in a tone I perceived as sarcastic. I nevertheless responded, "Thank you, you too," and continued leaving. She then added, "Please don't come back." Confused, I stopped and asked why. She accused me of previously coming into the restaurant and "doing the same thing"/causing problems. This is extremely important: this was only my SECOND time ever coming to this location for a carryout order. My first pickup was approximately three weeks earlier. I walked in, collected my food, and left within probably 30 seconds with no argument, complaint, or negative interaction. I had also never seen or interacted with this woman before. Because the history she described does not match my actual history at this restaurant, I believe she mistook me for another customer. I asked for her name or information for someone above her because I wanted to report the interaction. She refused and stated that she was the owner and that because Bonchon is a franchise, there was nobody above her to whom I could report the incident. I continued requesting management/corporate information, and she called the police. Because police had been called, I initially believed I should remain to speak with the responding officers. In hindsight, I should have waited outside. While waiting, I called my mother for advice. Another customer who witnessed the interaction independently approached me. I did not know this woman. She told me she believed the way I was treated was wrong and helped me locate information for reporting the incident. She later identified herself to police as a witness and described what she observed. The situation escalated after police had already been called. The woman repeatedly demanded that I leave, and we both raised our voices. During the confrontation, she told me to take my "ghetto sh!t outside" and that I was "going to jail." I did not call her names or curse at her. My mother ultimately told me to leave the restaurant and wait outside, which I did. The police arrived shortly afterward. The woman described me to them as "belligerent" and said she did not want me returning. I gave the officers my complete account, identification, and explained my very limited history at this restaurant. The independent customer also spoke with police as a witness. I was ultimately informed that I could no longer return. I will respect that instruction and have no intention of returning after this experience. What concerns me most is how this began. Before any argument occurred, before police were called, and before I remained inside requesting management information, I had received my food and was already walking out when I was told not to return. The explanation was that I supposedly had a history of causing problems there. I do not. I had never interacted with this woman before, and my only previous carryout pickup approximately three weeks earlier occurred without incident. I strongly believe I was mistaken for another customer. I hope someone above the restaurant level reviews this incident and, if available, surveillance footage from approximately 1:30 PM on August 18. I would also like any alleged previous incidents involving me reviewed because I maintain that no such history exists. The food at Bonchon is delicious, my order was ready on time, and the male employee who handed me my order was helpful. Unfortunately, my experience with management overshadowed all of that. What should have been a routine pickup resulted in accusations about conduct I did not recognize, a police call, and ultimately being banned from a restaurant where I had never previously caused a problem.

Japan Express seems to be a local teriyaki chain, and we came here for an early dinner…read more Their menu is pretty extensive, offering salads, maki fusion rolls, bento boxes, teriyaki combos, and sides. We ordered: +a Chicken & Shrimp Teriyaki - instead of the white or the fried rice, we opted for the noodles at an upcharge; this also came with a side of steamed veggies; I did request for the chicken to be extra well done, but it was just cooked through; the shrimp, while of a good size, were not deveined - they were cooked perfectly, though +a Chicken & Beef Teriyaki - instead of the white or the fried rice, we opted for the noodles at an upcharge; this also came with a side of steamed veggies; the beef was tender, but I wasn't a fan of the taste The teriyaki sauce used was not too sweet; the noodles were cooked perfectly and was a great choice instead of the rice options. I did wish that the steamed veggies were kept warm, as they were served cold. Don't forget to ask for Yum Yum sauce; this was a great complement to the dish. They do have packets of a generic hot sauce, which actually went well with the teriyaki. The portions are extremely generous, in which an order can easily feed 2 people. I honestly was a little apprehensive of this place, but I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was! Staff here are very welcoming and friendly. There are plenty of seats to dine in, but I did see many locals call ahead or order to-go.
