Ambiance is super casual. They were blasting Jay Park like they wanted to increase the population. But I love me some R&B so I was with it. Vibe was like Asian Chipotle in terms of decor and minimalist design. My friend got a teriyaki bento box but I was in the mood for sushi, so I opted to get some rolls. They were pretty good. Glad I went with the sushi. Teriyaki looked alright but kind of like generic teriyaki. Dumplings were definitely just standard kind. The dumpling sauce hit really well with the dumplings. Staff were super polite and helpful. Also very speedy with how fast everything came out. Staff really made the difference I think. Plenty of parking in front of the building as it's a shopping strip. It was a very easy in and out. Easy to find too. Overall, it was alright. This is definitely a low key kind of place. This is a nice teriyaki place! Very similar to Sarku with food options. Sushi rolls are fairly good too like the shrimp tempura or salmon avocado. I don't get rolls too often but my salmon avocado came with large pieces of salmon and warm rice, which is quite good. Chicken and beef teriyaki are excellent. Salmon teriyaki not quite as good. Shrimp is solid too. Prices are pretty reasonable with chicken teriyaki being $9.69 as of 11/25. And you get one free after 6 visits with this stamp card. Chicken poke bowl with ponzu sauce was pretty tasty good. It's not bad the chicken is pretty good and the white rice was a little dry but I still ate it. Overall it's not bad if you are in the strip mall and want something other than chipotle gril. This is a great place to stop for a quick lunch. The portions are large and the food is tasty all for a good price. Some of my favorites are the chicken teriyaki as well as the crispy chicken dumplings and a few of the sushi rolls. The salmon teriyaki is also good, just make sure to ask the chef to undercook it a bit as they tend to leave it on too long and overcook the salmon. This is a quick sit down/take out style fast food, so don't expect five star dining, but a decent meal for cheap. read more

I visited this location on 11/23/2025 around 8 PM for the first time and had a very uncomfortable experience. While I was waiting for my food, the shorter male employee (asian?) with very fair skin and black hair who was packaging orders mocked my involuntary movements caused by a medical condition. He then said something in his language to another employee preparing food, and they both laughed while looking at me. When my number was called and I stepped up to the counter, the behavior continued. I tried to lighten the situation by asking how his day was going, and he responded in perfect english, making it clear that this was not a misunderstanding, and very intentional. I left feeling hurt and humiliated. There is no excuse for this type of behavior. I sincerely hope management addresses this because no one should ever be treated this way. read more

New quick eat in spot in S. Plainfield strip mall. Was pretty busy for grand opening week, not a long wait for food. It's laid out similar to what we get from Chipotle/Cava... walk up, wait in a line, order, wait for your food by the soda machine and leave or sit at the tables in a small dining room. Spicy Tuna Roll - Good ... didn't really see crunch flakes as advertised but still enjoyable. Ordered takeout from here. You order at the counter and everything is pretty much made fresh when you put your order in. We ordered the chicken bento which comes with salad, gyoza and vegetable eggrolls. We also ordered the angry dragon, volcano and tempura California rolls. The chicken bento is the way to go if you want variety. The salad was crispy and fresh. The gyoza and eggrolls were okay...tasted like it may have been from the frozen food section of the grocery store. The star of the dish was definitely the chicken teriyaki. I love that they use dark meat because it's way more juicier and tasty than white meat and it's harder to overcook. The teriyaki sauce is a nice balance of sweet and salty and goes perfect with the noodles or rice. The sushi rolls surprisingly all tasted fresh and exceeded my expectations for a fast casual take out spot. They were not cheap but the portion size seemed fair. Was looking for a place to grab a quick dinner in the area and passed this option. They still have a Grand Opening sign outside, but based on yelp reviews look like its been open over a year. My favorite thing about this place is that they give a lot of chicken. I think its in line with double chicken at other places. Gave this place a try after seeing the restaurant next door had a big line. The food was on par with any other fast food Japanese place I've tried in the past. They were efficient with getting orders taken and done fast during the lunch rush. I got the teriyaki chicken bento box and it had plenty of food for one sitting. i think it's decent, but nothing really special or memorable. the place has been around for a while, and i just tried it for the first time recently. it's okay overall. the portion sizes are fair, though maybe a bit pricey for what you get. i do wish there was more variety, more greens or something to round out the plate. for the regular teriyaki, it's mainly just rice, chicken, and a small cabbage salad. not bad, just not impressive. hopefully they'll revamp the menu or add something new to help it stand out, but for now, it feels like a pretty standard japanese grill spot read more

There were about 5 orders ahead of mine. The food portion was plentiful. My total order was just over $16.00.
