    Chicken dumplings

The dumplings I ordered were very over-cooked. The photo they showed on the menu was not consistent with what I was given (see my photo attached). Their photo looked like they would be boiled but they deep fried them. The chicken teriyaki dish was ok. The staff seemed nice.

It's not bad the chicken is pretty good and the white rice was a little dry but I still ate it. Overall it's not bad if you are in the strip mall and want something other than chipotle gril. There is seating but it's limited but the tables were clean. Service is just walk up place your order and wait. So it's nothing special but it's not bad for the price

New quick eat in spot in S. Plainfield strip mall. Was pretty busy for grand opening week, not a long wait for food. It's laid out similar to what we get from Chipotle/Cava... walk up, wait in a line, order, wait for your food by the soda machine and leave or sit at the tables in a small dining room. Spicy Tuna Roll - Good ... didn't really see crunch flakes as advertised but still enjoyable. Chicken Teriyaki & Noodles - Ok ...chicken was as expected, flavorful and tender but noodles were just ok. Will go for rice next time. Star of the show - Fried Dumplings ... I'll take please! Will be back to try some other stuff like their Poke bowls!

Ordered takeout from here. You order at the counter and everything is pretty much made fresh when you put your order in. We ordered the chicken bento which comes with salad, gyoza and vegetable eggrolls. We also ordered the angry dragon, volcano and tempura California rolls. The chicken bento is the way to go if you want variety. The salad was crispy and fresh. The gyoza and eggrolls were okay...tasted like it may have been from the frozen food section of the grocery store. The star of the dish was definitely the chicken teriyaki. I love that they use dark meat because it's way more juicier and tasty than white meat and it's harder to overcook. The teriyaki sauce is a nice balance of sweet and salty and goes perfect with the noodles or rice. The sushi rolls surprisingly all tasted fresh and exceeded my expectations for a fast casual take out spot. They were not cheap but the portion size seemed fair. Overall it's a very good fast casual Japanese take out spot. I would definitely come here again if I'm craving teriyaki.

PROs - value for money , location and food CONs - wait time .. First timer . Good location. Very close to many other restaurants ! They had a board outside saying that teriyaki was 9.5$ or something . I thought - why not give it a try .. It was surely value for money . There were seats inside to sit and eat. Ambience was ok. Not very good but not bad too. Best thing about this restaurant is the price of food . Very affordable and not that expensive . A box of teriyaki with rice and salad costs just 9.8$ .. less than 10$ ! Salad didn't taste good . Had to throw it out . Teriyaki with rice was really good. Everything is made fresh once u order . So it takes sometime to get our Order . Apart from wait time ; this place is good .

Was looking for a place to grab a quick dinner in the area and passed this option. They still have a Grand Opening sign outside, but based on yelp reviews look like its been open over a year. My favorite thing about this place is that they give a lot of chicken. I think its in line with double chicken at other places. Chicken is juicy, and they added a good amount of sauce (but not excessive). I was pretty full after. Service is fairly quick. Large parking lot.

The teriyaki chicken and beef were flavorful. Quick service where you can dine in or take it to go. Ordering is simple, the menu is displayed clearly, and there's a descent amount of indoor seating. The portions are plentiful! We also received a punchcard where after a certain # of orders, your next is free. Great for a casual, quick bite.

I ordered the Angry Dragon roll, and not only was the service fast, but my roll was prepared from the freshest ingredients and tasted absolutely delicious - no soy sauce needed! I opted to take out my order rather than dine in. Still it was nice to have the option. Their dining room is a decent size large enough to accommodate a medium crowd. It's nice, new and clean inside.

Gave this place a try after seeing the restaurant next door had a big line. The food was on par with any other fast food Japanese place I've tried in the past. They were efficient with getting orders taken and done fast during the lunch rush. I got the teriyaki chicken bento box and it had plenty of food for one sitting. I was disappointed that the garden salad had a creamy dressing instead of the light ginger dressing I usually see.

Solid sushi, great service, comfortable ambience. Whenever I am a bit indecisive regarding my choices of what I want to eat locally in this area, I always get the sushi and never disappoints.

I've eaten at Ottoyee for months now, and each experience has been incredibly delicious. However, the only thing is that the wait time can run very long. Not for the food to arrive, but for placing the order. We tried to get the attention of the waiter on staff multiple times, but was either ignored or they were behind the screen attending to something else. The wait time was around 15-20 minutes, but this is likely attributed to the small staff. Otherwise though, they were incredibly kind and knowledgeable of the menu and we still had a delicious experience as usual.

I so wanted to love this place, and was so excited to try it when reading the menu. Otoro? Ramen?…read moreGyudon? It all sounded like the perfect restaurant, but I'm really hesitant to return. Upon entertaining on a weekend evening, there were a few tables with patrons but not too busy. The restaurant did seem a bit understaffed with only one person taking orders / bringing food out, making it difficult to flag down this one person to successfully take our order and ask for anything additional throughout the night. Gyudon: for the price, we were really surprised at how small of a portion this was. It was not only in a small bowl, but the meat was layered on top perfectly deceiving you to think that there was more than there actually was. The majority of this dish was rice, and with limited sauce at that. As displayed on the menu images it was to be served with a runny egg, but unfortunately we got a fully cooked one (disappointing, as we were looking for something to mix with the rice!) Sushi: We got a 3 rolls and they were just alright. They were pretty small in size, with less rice than I'm used to (which is something I do like - I would rather more fish than rice!) With us getting spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy scallop - they all kind of tasted the same, so I wish the fish wasn't as heavily masked with spicy mayo. Ramen: I got the black garlic ramen, and it wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. I've purchased fresh ramen packages in the supermarket before and it tasted just like that, so it made me disappointed knowing I could achieve the same at home. The soup itself was extremely rich and fatty, and the charsiu had no flavor whatsoever leaving much to be desired. The main reason I'm rating this so low is upon having my last bites of sushi, I could tell something was off. I don't recall which specifically I had but I made a statement that it was extremely fishy and off putting. Fast forward later that night, I was hunched over the toilet vomiting with stomach pain - and I can deduct that the sushi was the culprit. I might consider trying Ottoyee again due to the great deals they have listed on food delivery apps, but the sushi quality (quite literally) put a bad taste in my mouth.

We did not know what the tofu dish was and asked for some clarification but was just told it was fried tofu and that it was good. We didn't know what was really on it but we ordered it anyways. We didn't enjoy it but were happy we tried it. I thought my ramen was fine, not my favorite but no complaints. My friend didn't like her ramen so she asked for hot sauce, sriracha, and soy sauce to spice it up and the server was confused at first but was fine bringing it over once we clarified what we wanted. We also didn't love the karaage chicken. All in all, we enjoyed our visit there and appreciated trying something new. They give cute little cat shaped chopstick holders. We will not likely be back because it wasn't to our liking but think it is just personal taste not that the place was bad so we do recommend trying it for yourself. Right after we sat down we accidentally spilled a glass of water and it took so much effort to flag down a waiter to get some napkins. They didn't even help us clean it up, we could barely mop up what was on spilled on the table because they gave us very little napkins. Then when we asked for more napkins when the food came out the waitress counted it out and gave us exactly 6, one for each person. As for the food, a big disappointment. The tuna was not the bright pink color it normally is and instead had a dark red/purple hue to it, a little concerning. The yellowtail and squid were super chewy. The mackeral was very fishy, which I understand mackeral is on the fishy side for raw fish but I've had it in Japan where is was the exact opposite. Honestly, the only fresh tasting fish was the salmon. The food was slow to come out even though the wait staff was very attentive with grabbing our menu orders. Most likely will not be returning.

The restaurant is well kept and clean. Let me tell you, the servers? Top notch. We were helped by a man when we first came in, and later a woman. They had a fantastic peanut and avocado roll that I ordered with soy paper instead of seaweed (I really don't like the taste of the sea) paired with the soy sauce it was a nice amalgamation of flavor and texture, I thoroughly enjoyed it. We also ordered pan fried gyoza and edamame for the table both extremely well executed. A friend said the gyoza was melt in your mouth quality and I felt that was quite accurate. I tried my friend's sweet potato roll which did have seaweed wrap on it but I actually really liked that too! For my meal I got hibachi steak. It was a generous portion and very tasty. I'm not big on mushrooms but I even gobbled those up- so good!
