Burnt, black, crispy and inedible.

3 for 3 Too crispy. Might not be coming back. Half of the meal, my large bowl with extra chicken inedible. AGAIN

Bolt found in food

Tasted good, but got an extra surprise that raises serious questions. Like how does a bolt end up in the food and no one notice?

Chicken Breast Teriyaki Bowl with steamed veggies

I really wanted to like this place. Did a quick run after my workout and despite my excitement to try it for the first time, i was let down. The entire dish is based on the delicious teriyaki chicken (so they say). Unfortunately my chicken breast was so overcooked i couldn't even finish the meal. Disappointing

The food is pretty good , just pricey for the portions. Asked if they will do half and half rice and noodles and was told they don't do that. Also asked if we don't get veggies if we can get extra ride and was told no as well . As stated the flavor is great . Just wish the portions were better when spending over 20$ on one bowl appetizer and drink for one person. Also takes forever to get your food both times I've been had about a 40 minute wait for food. Really trying to give this place a chance but might as well eat downtown at this rate

It's typical fest food. The staff was friendly, I liked the music. Did not care for the egg roll or the vegetables. Both very bland. The char on the teriyaki chicken was good although not at all Spicy as per menu. NON RECYCLABLE #5 plastic bowls is all they offer for their food, another chain polluting the planet.

Teriyaki steak bowl, Is stringy chewy fatty meat, served on top of soggy fried rice.

When I try a new restaurant 99% of the time If I get a bad meal I will give them a second chance. But not at these prices. Is the steak they used in their steak teriyaki bowl Was stringy chewy And full of fat. The crib rangoo It was overdone and had little to no filling in it. The fried rice was saggy And totally tasteless.

this place is so good. im a sucker for asian food, and love asian fusion. saw this place pop up, my boyfriend and i decided we need to try a new place since we eat out ALOT. so we decided to go to the grand opening. we walk in, and immediately are greeted by (the owner?) and he was so nice. explained the whole menu to us and how ordering works. everything is 100% fresh made to order, none of the meat touches a freezer. they apologized and warned us ahead of time it'd be a little bit of a wait due to it being a grand opening, which we were grateful for even if we were planning on waiting anyway. the food- OH MY GOSH. their homemade teriyaki sauce is to die for. veggies were crisp and crunchy, i got a salmon bowl with white rice and the salmon tasted so fresh, and it soaked up the sauce really well. TLDR: this place is really good. if you're looking for a new spot in valpo thats healthy, friendly and delicious, this is the place right now.

Food was decent, service was awful, seems to be ran by nothing but teenagers. And the prices are unnecessarily high.

A whole lotta greens, straight to the dome. I got the Kale Kraze Salad (quinoa, almonds,…read morecranberries, avocado and kale marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper). The salad came with a lemon garlic dressing on the side, which I didn't pour over the salad, but instead dipped forkfuls lightly into the cup. The salad was huge! There was no way I could finish it, and I didn't. But it was satisfying and made my body feel oh-so good, the way that a body feels good when eating whole foods. Roots Market Cafe has a lot of nourishing options here. I had a hard time choosing what to get, because they have so many tasty-sounding options. Most (all?) of the menu is either vegetarian or vegan, and they offer salads, wraps, smoothies, juices, and a selection of baked goods. This place is also a little market! You can find fresh produce here -- I saw sweet potatoes, broccoli, zucchini, ginger root, bananas, pineapple, berries and other things. They also sell alternative milks, mushroom coffee, organic eggs, kimchi, vegan snacks, and things I have never seen, like vegan marshmallows and vegan marshmallow cream. Who knew that existed? I got my salad to go, but they have a dining room where you can sit and stay a while. The dining room is separate from the market and ordering counter, and is located in an entirely different room.

I recently ordered a medium Good Mojo drink along with a party-size hummus and veggie platter and…read moreunfortunately the experience was pretty disappointing. The hummus was extremely watery--more like a soup consistency than the thick, creamy hummus I expected. It made it difficult to enjoy with the vegetables or chips. Speaking of the platter, for something labeled "party size," there were surprisingly very few vegetables included. Instead, it came with a large amount of chips. I was also expecting multigrain chips based on the photo but they were just plain tortilla chips, which wasn't what I had in mind. The Good Mojo juice itself tasted good, although it was served warm rather than chilled. Overall, for the amount I spent, I had much higher hopes for the quality and portion balance of what I was getting. It just didn't feel like the value matched the price.

Housemade Bread $8.00 Brassica Caesar Salad $20.00…read moreCaramelized Onion Tortellini $29.00 We devoured the focaccia bread. Bread was super fresh and steaming hot. Salad was enough for 4 - 6 people. Me and my partner had plenty of leftovers. So many ingredients almost too many to list. The ingredients that stood out were the Asparagus, mushrooms, and broccolini. Ingredients were hot and delicious. We split the Carmelized Onion Tortellini. It was magical. Great buttery taste and the Carmelized Onions oozed out of the tortellini when I cut into it with the fork. We were stuffed when we left and had enough leftovers to eat for dinner the next day. We came at lunch time & got right in. Ordered the focaccia bread. It came with olive oil & marina sauce. So amazing. Also shared the kale Ceasar salad. It was huge! Enough for 4-6. It had a lot of ingredients. Roasted asparagus, broccolini, shaved Brussels sprouts, mushrooms. It was delicious, but I would have preferred a lighter summer salad. It was hearty & warm. I'd get it again in the fall. We shared the caramelized onion tortellini. It was huge too. Amazing prices for the amount of food. It was so delicious. The onions were sweet & the pasta was perfect & fresh. Lots of leftovers to take home. Cute ambiance, friendly service. Loved that we could watch the chefs prepare the food too. Can't wait to come back for more pasta & try dessert.
