Our server Anh was very nice and attentive. I started with a Kirin Ichiban beer. That was my first time trying Japanese beer and it wasn't bad! Anh brought out a chilled pint glass which I appreciated (beer is always better when sipped from a frozen pint glass)! The menu has a variety of offerings including appetizers, ramen, fried rice, and combo plates. I wasn't terribly hungry so I ordered the Vegetable Egg Rolls. It came with three rolls. They were simple, but very tasty. I enjoyed the sweet and sour sauce that came with it too. The restaurant was clean and had a nice aesthetic. We walked in and was sat immediately and served water and ordered within 5 minutes. Kimchi Pancake - 9/10! The pancake was super crispy and loved the amount of kimchi , could use a bit more meat in the pancakes. My husband doesn't normally go for kimchi but loved these pancakes. Chicken Katsu - 7/10. The chicken katsu was crispy and fresh, rice was fresh. Chicken katsu could've had more meat versus batter ratio. The stir fry vegetable was a bit bland.. could have used more "stir fry" flavor. The katsu sauce was ok, i've had better in Chinatown . Beef Soba Noodles: 4/10. the texture of everything was ok but the flavor was extremely lacking. THE FOOD: 10/10 Teriyaki Chicken Plate and Fried Rice - WOW! The sauce coating the teriyaki was the touch of perfection on my tastebuds! This plate is the reason why the restaurant is called Teriyaki Chicken (in my honest opinion because it is a GOLD dish!). The fried rice also wasn't burnt and each rice added flavor to my teriyaki chicken. 3/10 Stir-Fried Broccoli - On the other hand, this broccoli was crunchy and hard to chew. The sauce seasoned on top of the broccoli created this sour sensation on my tastebuds. I enjoyed a filling, tasty pork katsu bento box here on a Friday evening. For around $16, the bento box came with crispy pork katsu, curry, rice, potato salad, shrimp tempura, fried veggies, and California rolls. There was a generous amount of crunchy, breaded pork katsu, which was deliciously paired with curry and rice. The California rolls were a hit also, with plenty of imitation crab meat. The restaurant itself is located in a strip mall in Sugarland with plenty of parking, and the restaurant itself looks newly renovated. Service was prompt despite a busy evening. I got the spicy chicken teriyaki and my husband got the katsu curry. The spicy chicken delivered just enough spice for me without being overly spicy. It was good and the portion size was just right. First time going was when I was pregnant and I was thinking I was only going to get the loaded fries (cravings) well..I couldn't stop eyeing my husband's ramen. I ordered a bowl for myself and just loved it! They also have a 2nd location on Gessner, near Kempwood. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, with white rice and potato salad. I also tried the seafood pancake and shrimp eggroll. My favorites were the chicken teriyaki and shrimp eggroll. Great flavor on the teriyaki and the shrimp eggroll seemed handmade. The Asian-influenced potato salad wasn't bad either. The seafood pancake was passable but not great. After having so many good seafood pancakes recently, my bar is just raised pretty high right now and this would be the McDonald's version. Overall, I would say it's probably a great place to come for lunch and can cater to many tastes. It is more Asian fusion than authentic. So glad we found this spot! I'll admit, the name threw my bf and I off a bit. We didn't know what to expect and thought it might be a hole in the wall. We were so wrong! Food: So good! Everything tasted great. All the meats had just enough flavor but not overwhelming. I loved the spicy pork but liked all the meat (and I don't usually like chicken). The potato salad is amazing! It's just the right amount of sweet and creamy. Even the miso soup was flavorful and came out hot and steaming! Everything was reasonably priced and the "bento box"filled me up and for the first time I actually liked everything that was included in a bento box! I didn't realize this place took the spot of the former Sweetwater Seafood and Yep Seafood. It's a nice change since there's not anything similar around. Now to the tastes, it surprised me. Tempura Shrimp Udon - Typical. Good. My kids liked it. Pork Ramen - WOW! I was surprised. There's a delightful and unexpected spicy kick to the tender pork that shocked me. By the end I wished there was more. Kimchi pancakes - Meh, I've had better. I've never had it with pork though. I'm normally a seafood pancake person so don't know how that happened. Salmon Bento - Salmon was a bit overcooked but otherwise it was delicious. The rice used in the california roll was a bit mushy probably because it was sticky rice instead of sushi rice. I could divide one plate up to 3 times. All the meats are good quality and juicy and meaty without being too fatty. Both their teriyaki sauce and their spicy teriyaki sauces are just perfect. They make their sauces in house and I think that's why you don't get that store-bought-MSG feeling afterwards. Each plate comes with a side. Excited they opened in Sugar land! If you're familiar with the one on I10, you know it has the most bomb teriyaki bowls. I just ate the one from the I10 location last week, and I have a couple of comments on consistency. It's still good, but not as good as the one on I10. -The chicken isn't as moist or juicy as the other location. -They didn't add much teriyaki sauce -Veggies are still hard. Not as cooked. Overall, I would still come here again. Hopefully, the consistency is better next time. It seems they just opened and we were the only customers. I tried the Beef TK Box for lunch on my first trip here, and it was alright. Everything tasted solid, but for a ~$12 lunch, there wasn't anything in particular that stood out. The beef and onions were savory and tender, and I would certainly get it again. Along with that was served potato salad, shrimp/vegetable tempura, and imitation crab sushi. The potato salad was good, something like a slightly sweet mashed potatoes. Fried food is hard to mess up, so the tempura tasted fine, but it didn't have the fluffy crispy exterior you'd expect from tempura batter. And the imitation crab sushi was good - but once again, it's imitation crab and not anything very special. Teriyaki Kitchen's a great place to go if you want a fairly cheap, no frills Asian-style meal, but I wouldn't go expecting more than that. If that's what you're looking for in Sugar Land, then go no further - you've found your spot! read more

My wife and I ordered the pork katsu plate and the chicken curry. The restaurant is clean, and the wait staff is friendly. The food was made to order, hot and fresh. The katsu was moist and the batter crispy. It was served on a bed of white rice with a side of korean style potato salad. The sauce was a little more on the vinegary side, but still very good. The curry looked a little sad at first with the frozen carrots and corn, but there was plenty of chicken included. The stand out for me was the chicken was grilled prior to putting it in the curry, so you could taste the light char through the curry. The curry itself was good, with the hint of japanese spices.
