Sadly, the temperature of the teriyaki beef was about the same as the cold sushi, and so was the rice! We sent it back to the kitchen, and it returned to our table about a minute later. It was the exact same beef, only now the pieces had darker edges from being thrown back on the grill. Unfortunately, it was still cold. They took it away again for a third attempt, and when it came back, the beef was finally at an acceptable temperature. Unfortunately, the broccoli sitting on top was still cold. Apparently, getting an entire plate of food hot at the same time was too much to ask! If you're looking for a job as a cook, Kinjo could really use your help, especially if you understand the concept of food temperature. My sushi rolls were OK, our server was really nice, and at least the tea was hot. I don't understand why I have to be the quality control person for Kinjo. Perhaps this is one of those "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" situations. At this point, I must be an idiot for continuing to come back. And to top it all off, the teriyaki beef was on special today! Funny, I didn't read anywhere on the menu that it was the cold version. What a disappointing night... .

Downstairs is where you can see the chefs prep the sushi and sashimi. Order at the till and then you will receive a buzzer (to pick up your food when it is ready). You can grab the sushi from the lower level (basement). My better half has some very specific dietary restrictions and they were able to answer my questions, staff was polite and did notify us if any foods might be cross contaminated. The atmosphere is casual but could also be a nice place for a date. They had the patio open today which is where we sat. We ordered the sushi lovers tray $20 for 20 pieces (4 sashimi and 16 pieces of sushi). My kids don't eat spicy food so the chef was able to make our sushi tray to order (with the spicy sauces on the side), which was lovely. The chef asked about our dietary restrictions when I asked for the spice to be served on the side. Also, we ordered the spicy chicken ramen (TIP: if you are sharing with a non-spicy eater, you can order it with the spice paste on the side, which is what we ended up doing). Kids love the broth here, and it is chicken based. Some ramen places will have chicken ramen but then it will be prepared in a pork based broth, which doesn't work for us. We ordered two of the salmon sushi lovers trays, one chicken ramen, one chicken yakatori and one bbq chicken rice bowl. There is a good amount of variety on the menu, whether you are looking for a meal or more of a snack item. They do have chicken, lamb, beef, tofu, and pork on the menu along with vegetarian options.
