That's the good news. The less-good: they kept the fans over the hibachi off to help keep the restaurant warm (unsuccessfully as it turns out) making dinner a very smoky experience. Would I go back? With the kiddies, probably, but there are better choices I'd rather enjoy with adults. I'll sum up the experience in a haiku: Flames lick the steel plate Onion volcano sighs low-- Fried rice dreams bigger.

SU ordered Kung Pao Shrimp, her "go-to" and every Asian restaurant, and compares each one to China Garden's version. Her verdict: Modern Asia's was "OK", and she told me I could eat the leftovers for my lunch. I did. My verdict was the same: OK, but nothing to write home to Mother about. (My comparison, BTW, is to a restaurant we enjoyed in Ithaca New York that made Kung Pao with peppers that would flay your face from the inside if you dared to eat one. Modern Asia's didn't even tickle, making it a let down). I ordered Seafood Combination Chinese Yellow Curry, a new dish for me. It was yummy. Described as one-pepper spicy on the menu, it had less heat than the Kung Pao, but the curry sauce had layers of flavor. It featured shrimp, scallops, and calmari plus a wonderful mix of peppers, onions, and other veg. All were nicely (crisply) cooked, even taking into account the Door Dash delivery time. I really enjoyed it. Next time I may ask for a bit more heat, but as it is, I hoovered up every morsel. Try it - you'll like it!

They put raw bean sprouts in, but since the soup was so hot it was able to partially cook them. I chose pork and was given 3 slices of pork which was soft enough for young kids to eat. The noodles were cooked perfectly for me (not too hard and not too soft) since I don't like the noodles to be too al dente. The curry rice is mostly consisted of rice, but the portion size was pretty big overall that you might still have some rice left over to take home.

Also, it is so red that if you're wearing white, it will scare you. The food didn't make me feel satisfied so I had to go back and order something else. Waiting for the food, the food not being great in taste, the overpriced spicy add on and I am put off from this place.

When we decided to order our lunch from there, it was definitely a struggle trying to figure out who was in line/who had already ordered. As we got closer we realized most people had already ordered and that the ordering was done self service style on an iPad in the window. One of the employees mentioned that it would be a 20 minute wait, and we were like okay, but in my head I was thinking there's obviously some efficiency issues. I ordered the Hannah's choice savory crepe with spinach, mozzarella, avocado. The crepe itself was very fragrant and tasted good, but I found that the craftsmanship of the final product needed work when I saw that there were holes in the crepe after he folded the crepe. There were also large pockets of ingredients rather than an evenly dispersed interior. I think they could do with one more employee to make the service better. Overall great food and I will be back!

The rice (which is important to have) was not mushy! They are on our places to go to again. Plus I didn't try their hot and sour soup. It is (along with Clam Chowder, Fish and Chips) one of my go-to foods.

Most of the menu is Chinese, with very few Japanese options and even fewer Thai. They also no longer serve sushi, so if you see sushi photos online, be aware they're outdated. We placed our order and bought bottled sodas, only to find out they don't have ice, which my wife was not happy about. The food overall was great, with one exception: the General Tso's chicken. The sauce had no flavor and there were no scallions in it. The broccoli was cooked well and still firm. The pork dumplings and tempura shrimp were very good. The beef and chicken lo mein were also very good, especially the beef. The dining area was clean, but the tables have that slightly sticky finish. The counter area looks messy and unattractive -- a big downgrade from a few years ago when it looked great. Not sure why they're letting it slide. They also prompted for a tip, even though there's no table service. They did bring the food out after I tipped, but still -- the expectation felt off. Great food, but everything else was meh.

The buffet food area are the amazing part! They, the restaurant, always check on each food containers and refill anything that's looking less full than the container. All food are served hot, warm cool or cold as they supposedly serve and most importantly all are fresh food from the kitchen. The hibachi part also an amazing addition for the buffet, they can cook mostly anything and taste delicious. The sushi part also has a lot of options and all plates always filled with ready to eat sushi. Lunch and dinner menus are different, more premium food are available during dinner time, like coconut shrimps, seafoods from crawfish - crabs - muscles - oysters also steaks and prime ribs. Never had those last western food, as always looked overcooked at some point. But the most popular is the ice creams selection, mostly are Hersheys in single serving. I am grateful for his hospitality. It made me want to eat more. He also helped introduce me to the ramen station, which paired wonderfully with the bbq. The interior was good.
