She knows what she's doing! We made more the first day of the sale than I anticipated making the entire weekend. The only thing I have to say about her is that she does not charge near enough for the amount of work she does for her clients. Writing a review for Mary Stidham is difficult, because I fear anything I say will sound…read moreunbelievable or contrived. The problem is, Mary is truly as wonderful as all the superlative adjectives I can think up. Mary is a community builder in her bones, and we first encountered and came to know and love her through her clear passion for the Bellingham community. The first time my spouse and I visited Bellingham, we inadvertently found ourselves using her online recommendations as a check list of all the best places to visit and best things to see throughout the area. We finally began remarking on how great her taste is - and as we fell in love with the community, knew we had to reach out to talk to her about looking for our new home. Expecting to schedule a phone consultation some time in the coming weeks or months, Mary responded immediately and suggested we meet for coffee that Saturday morning and to chat about our thoughts and plans. From our initial meeting she was friendly, brilliant, and understanding of our wacky situation. Over the next several months from across the country we stayed in touch, us sharing homes we found online that looked interesting and her sharing thoughtful feedback. One of the things I loved about Mary is that she is real, honest, and human. She would tell us "I know that home looks great online, but I don't think it would be a perfect fit for you because (reasons)." Looking at homes from across the country, this thoughtful feedback was worth its weight in gold, time after time! Months after our initial meeting, when we finally flew out to do some serious house hunting, Mary arranged her schedule around our visit, devoted multiple very long days to shepherding us all around the area, and was unbelievably patient as we looked at some houses over and over. She guided us through a quick and challenging negotiation process when we finally made our offer, of course got us our home, and then held our hands for the long weeks to close. Above and beyond doesn't begin to describe her in that time - from helping find a fantastic inspector who came out on a Sunday morning before we had to drive to SeaTac and fly back across the country to installing our mailbox and window treatments in the new home (who does that?!? What kind of person goes that far for a client???), Mary is so far beyond exceptional it cannot be accurately conveyed. One of the (many) things I love about Mary is not only is she kind and thoughtful, she's human and understanding - if something went (temporarily!) awry, Mary isn't a person who would tell you it's okay, it will all be alright, ... (despite those things of course being true!) - she is empathetic, and would vehemently agree if a situation wasn't right, and it's fair for us to be frustrated, and the was going to do whatever needed to be done to get it right! Anyone looking for an exceptionally talented real estate agent, a wonderful human being, and a new friend in Bellingham has no need to look any further than Mary Stidham. They change into aprons with pockets and comfy slippers and get straight to work, and the miracles they produce in very short order are worth every penny. Nice selection of countertops and materials. They also have lots of scraps to pick from for a good…read moresavings for remodeling my bathroom. Only two sinks available: a round, deep shape and a rectangle shape. I picked my counter and the round sink. Hanna (assist. Mgr.) suggested the rectangle but I needed round--she took notes. Later, Hanna (Assist. Mgr.) tried to talk my daughter and I into the rectangle. I was firm with my round choice. My contractor picked up the materials and installed them in the bathroom. Guess what I got!!! Yep, as new and pretty as my new bathroom is, I ended up with that damned rectangle sink which I am stuck with forever. I was really careful about this, but she got me!
