Our couch is really solid in its frame and even more comfy to sit on. Definitely the best couch we've ever bought. The service was great too. I found a couch I liked and ordered it online. They told me my couch would be delivered on Saturday between 3-5PM. They did not lie. Precisely at 3pm, their truck showed up with two friendly/professional gentleman and they loaded it up a flight of stairs and into my living room no problem. It was so quick and hassle free. Again, I'm no furniture critic but I am a very happy customer.

I've never purchased furniture at Samuel's myself but have accompanied friends who have and have, myself, been impressed with the selection of quality items and the staff who helped in my friends purchases. On October 15, I entered the store in search of an end table for a particular spot in my house. I was greeted by Mr. Van Den Berg. I explained what I was looking for and we moved around the store but found nothing that seemed right. He suggested I look around and he proceeded to sit at his desk. As I walked by, I saw an interesting piece that was near where he was sitting and was obscured by a fake plant that sat on top. It was marked "Hue Round Stool" # 12532 or 928419. It was made from laminated wood that made up a conga drum-like "stool". The glue had obviously failed from severely shrinking wood and there were cracked seams around the entire item. The SALE tag showed it to be marked down to $119 from a regular price of "$259". It was in very bad shape for the quality of what the store sells, but it was perfect for what I was looking for. I asked if it could be marked down more and I received a cold and emphatic "NO". I was tired of searching for the right item and agreed on the "as-is" price. While Mr. Van Den Berg was writing up the sale, I noticed on the attached tags that the original price tag indicated that the regular price was $199, not the $259 which was the MSRP. The sales tag was blatantly misleading. I pointed it out to Mr. Van Den Berg and noted that this "table", which was really a stool and would have sold at a garage sale for $20, wasn't even half off. All he had to say was that he would point this out to management. I proceeded to pay for the "table" since it was what I was looking for even though it was, in my opinion, over-priced. I asked if it could be carried to my car and he said he couldn't do it and nobody else was around. I carried it myself. I have to say, I am happy with the "rustic" table, but not happy with the experience. Most people would have seen this item as something to use in a garage or IN the fireplace. So much for my taste in furniture. I feel that I took it off their hands and would have praised Samuel's for selling it at a reasonable price.

A simple reminder over the intercom would have been helpful and would have prevented the situation. What made the experience worse was the rude customer service from some of the staff, Gabrielle. Instead of treating customers with kindness and respect, I felt rushed and unwelcome. Customer service goes a long way, especially at the end of the day. Unfortunately, the overall experience left a very negative impression, and I hope management addresses both customer service and the lack of closing announcements to improve future customers' experiences.

In term of organization and cleanliness, these two locations are similar. Because of the location, there appear to be more college students here than the other. Included in our purchase were $600. in bedding and a $300. Discount on the adjustable bases. When our 3rd world brown glove delivery truck arrived, they did not have the bedding with them, nor was it on the paperwork. These people were anything but helpful and just wanted get done and leave asap. They were dragging boxes across my new and very expensive floor instead of carrying them and just left the manuals on the bedroom floor. White glove delivery?? It was anything but white glove. Now we have a new split king bed with no bedding, so we drive 1/2 hr. to the store and just get the brush off. They had no record of the bedding or the $300. promo credit on the bases. Customer service is not existent. We have been to the store numerous times and the management cannot and will not do a thing to help. I even have in writing that the store would credit our account $900. but they have failed to follow through. Store manager will not give me access to a district manager or anyone up the food chain. What kind of company does business like this?? I have called the customer no service line only to get off shore agents who are not empowered to help. I have been lied to by these people as they have also failed to follow through with their promises. Do yourself a favor and read all of the on line reviews describing the despicable way this business treats its customers.
