Great store with a wide selection of all things for your home, patio, and deck. Employees were helpful and friendly. Bathrooms were unlocked (unheard for this Portlander). This store is pretty cool! It is quite a large retail space but there are so many options to furnish your home with. I took a picture of this cool half barrel because I would love to have something like that in my home. There are also rugs, outdoor furniture, art, shelves, side tables, hallway tables and so much more! The one thing that I couldn't help notice was that the furniture seemed to be low quality and the prices were quite high. An average hallway table that is obviously hollow was over $200. If it was solid wood the price wouldn't bother me. There were also many wobbly items which doesn't leave a good impression. I want to end on a positive note. The staff were friendly and check out was a breeze. They have a loyalty program you can join to get discounts on future purchases. read more

At Home - This cool half barrel. - Furniture Stores Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

As someone who frequently makes trips up over the border to head to Ikea, I was excited for a large-scale furniture store closer to home. I headed there soon after they opened, and was both shocked and pleasantly surprised to see they had, quite literally, taken over the ENTIRETY of the former K-dog store in Sunset Square. In other words: THIS PLACE IS HUGE. I would describe At Home as a combination of Ikea, Costco and Big Lots with a little bit of Pier One thrown in for some character. It feels like they have everything you could possibly need to turn your house or apartment into a cute space. From outdoor furniture to indoor accessories to wall art this is basically a one stop shop that would have been a dream place back in the old days when I used to decorate model homes. But what At Home offers in selection (and decent prices) it lacks in character and inspiration. In other words, you pretty much need to bring your own creativity. Yeah, they have a few mini room displays tossed around the store for inspiration, but one of the things I love about other stores (think Ikea or, locally, The Greenhouse) is that they display entire rooms, or at least vignettes, that spark ideas and - presumably - result in consumers buying more products than they initially planned. I love the inspiration I get when I see not only a couch displayed, but an entire room. At Home definitely lacks this, even though they have MORE than enough space to accomplish it. The MOST frustrating part about the store was the absolutely abysmal setup of the checkout area. There are no lanes, just a small grouping of cash registers and one master line - which would be okay (it works in some places) if there was a way for cashiers to indicate they're free to serve you. But there's not. And the angle of the line is such that you can't SEE the cashiers. So they each have to basically jump out into the aisle to announce they're free. It's REALLY weird, and super bad planning. I felt bad for them! Also, the smell inside this place was overwhelming - worse in some aisles than others. I'm going to give them a pass on it, as they're new and I assume that "fresh plastic/paint/?" smell will disperse after a time. But if you're sensitive to smells, I'd give it a little time to air out before going. read more

This store is GIGANTIC! They have lots of options for whatever you're looking for your home (e.g., home decor, bedding, and kitchen items). In fact, I found it overwhelming to shop here because of the amount of merchandize and the selections they offer. Having said that, here's what I recommend: *If you have time to kill or need an idea/inspiration, just go in and browse. *If you want something specific (e.g., a trash can of a specific shape/size), I would browse their inventory ONLINE FIRST and go in to look at the item(s) in person. This is not a discount store like Marshall's and Ross. It's more like Bed Bath Beyond "on steroids." So, their pricing is not bad, but this is not a place for bargain hunting. I went in about 5pm with my 7yo daughter, as I was looking around my daughter was in my sight just puttin around on her heelys, keeping herself entertained being cautious and aware of things around her as well as people in which there was like no people besides a few. As I was walking an my was daughter ahead of me and no one around she was on her heelys and one of the lady's that worked there was in an one of the aisles helping a couple and she yelled at my daughter that she better knock it off and she better stop and walk , instead of politely walking over where we can see her and asking my daughter to stop like a nice human being. My daughter didn't understand why she was being yelled at, neither did I. I put my stuff back and left. I think she could of addressed that issue she had a little more professional instead of causing some hurt and confused feelings and making the environment unwelcoming. read more

My wife and daughter went to shop. My wife bought her some frames for her and her husband's diplomas. My wife took me there later and I really thought the quality was poor. My daughter changed her mind about the frames and tried to returned them. Since my wife bought them, the store would not give a refund even with the receipt. They offered her a store credit so she went and picked out different frames. When she got home and opened the packing, the frames were broken. She went back and not only would they not give a refund, they didnt even want to give her store credit. This place is HORRIBLE! Stay away and make them close. That store should not be open if that is their policy.. read more

I visited the Bellingham, Washington At Home location (Store #234) today and would like to share my experience with you. My intention was to simply return 4 pillows I had purchased online and picked up at the store a couple days before. After waiting in line several minutes, I was helped at the check stand by the manager, Kevin. When I told him I was returning the items, he asked for my receipt. I explained the purchase was done online and that I only had the email version of the receipt. He asked if it had a barcode and I answered "no." He said no problem, he could look it up with my phone number, which I then provided. Kevin then proceeded to scan each item. When all four items were scanned, he told me I would need to insert my credit card into the reader and sign on the signature pad in order to get the credit back to the card; I followed his instructions. Finally, he handed me the receipt. I thanked him and walked out to my car. Before I started the car, I inspected the receipt closer. Something didn't feel right. The receipt had a few "red flags" on it that made me question if the transaction was processed correctly. It showed "TRX TYPE: Purchase" and "TOTAL NUMBER OF ITEMS SOLD = 4.". In addition, there was no indication of a credit being applied, nor did I see the negative sign next to the total balance, something that typically appears on return receipts in my experience. I immediately went back to the checkout line again and waited patiently in line until the manager finished with another two sets of customers. When I approached him and explained the situation, he apologized for the error and told me he could only process the correction and return, either by punching in each item code manually or by scanning each of the items (apparently, another employee had already taken the pillows and restocked them on the shelves while I was at my car). He told me I could either go to the shelves and retrieve them or stand aside and allow him to help the next customer in line. He said it would take too long to enter them manually, but he would do it after he helped the customer behind me. I told him there was no way I should be expected to run and fetch the pillows off the shelves since I wasn't the person who made the mistake. So, I stepped aside and waited while he tended to the other customers. Before he completed their purchase, he made an announcement over the loudspeaker, requesting two additional cashiers. When one cashier appeared, he gave her the quick rundown and instructed her to assist me at the next register. She was incredibly polite and professional while interacting with me. She manually entered each item code quickly, with one round first to correct Kevin's mistake, then another round to actually process the return I had come in for. As a repeat customer who frequently spends greater than $100 on shopping trips to At Home, I am thoroughly disgusted by the errors and poor customer service that Kevin subjected me to. He was completely inept and made a series of inappropriate decisions throughout my time there. I don't believe a customer should be asked to fetch items off a shelf OR be asked to step aside to assist customers behind them under any circumstance. read more

I love the concept of this store. It's like IKEA mobbed Costco, but better. Plan on needing an hour or so just to get through the store. Tons of options and flavors. Prices are decent on most things, some feel over priced. BUT, there's one HUGE problem here. THE SMELL. It's like they load their ventilation system with some very powerful artificial scent that had me feeling nauseous. My teenage daughter was getting headaches from the strong smell. We could smell it in or clothes hours after leaving. If you have allergies, sensitivity to fragrances, or easily irritating by strong smells please be aware of this. I can't imagine how the employees feel. I want to go back, but not until there's a solution to this. read more

I called to get my polycarbonate from them, and all the stuff that went into making a roof. This Meridith was nice to talk to but told me 10 mm was enough to put on the 12 x 30' roof. There was also alot of back and forth about the width later and I called and said I should get the thicker 16 mm. She said it would cost me upward towards 1000 dollars. But it really was 300 I later found out. I show up to pick up my polycarbonate and they were rude. It was quickly get the stuff and leave us alone to go to lunch. I was given a bag of the extra stuff and told to check it out. It was overwhelming to be rushed. I got the polycarbonate on the trailer safely with the help of a few of them that were rather upset they were missing their lunch. But I couldn't figure out the straps and told them I will live there until it is done right. That is when they decided to be nice and help get this on the trailer right... Since coming home and looking at the 10 mm wobble in the wind, I called to tell them it was too thin and should be exchanged. Since i had them cut, (which I found that they had messed 1 panel up that length up by one inch, they said I had 30 days to complain). They wouldn't exchange them cuz 3 were cut to size...of 6 panels... I figured they would have people order smaller alot but they didn't want to help me. The next thing was I ordered 2 thin tapes, extra. I found out that the order was too much early on and took the extra inside my home as we would not need it, still unbagged. It was obvious. Now they wouldn't give me my money back as they said it was used. Impossible cuz I put it away in the house, away from us working on it, and still she didn't believe her crew would send a used tape roll. Let me add, their directions to how to do this was very difficult to follow. Even a seasoned carpenter thought I could set up the roof not with blocking, but purlins. Impossible to believe it was in their directions. Do not attempt this without thoroughally understanding installation and how thick 10-16mm is. Trusting their customer service reps may be the wrong road to take. I just went with my carpenters ideas and Meridiths ideas. Not good enough. Even her manager said 16mm would have been a better choice. read more

This store blew my shopping mind! It's absolutely huge and the selection is fantastic. I have never seen so many rugs and wall hangings in my life! I like that they have outdoor goods as well as things for your home. Some of the stuff seems rather cheap but I also saw beautiful, expensive things that I have seen in other stores at higher prices. The arrangement of the store is fairly simple and it seems clean and tidy, I didn't notice any foul odors as others have mentioned, perhaps they have dissipated since it opened. I will attest to the horrible check out area; I believe they were attempting the same queue type setup as Michael's but the high shelving obscures the sightline so you enter the check out area blindly. I am giving this store a high score for it's selection, prices and sheer size. Loved having so much room in the aisles. read more

Cashier was super rude she had a wrist brace asked her for a bag and she rolled her eyes and never gave me one! Made us feel as if we were inconveniencing her. Some adolescent security guard kept stalking us, made us feel uncomfortable. I think i'll be taking my business elsewhere super odd store, whoever is running it doesn't have their priorities in check. Shame they had some super cute stuff! read more
