I was acknowledged when i walked in and asked if i wanted coffee or water. I sat there for 20 to 25 mins after my appt time before I was taken back. No explanation that they were running behind even though that was evident. My appt was with one person and that is who I thought was working on me because she never introduced herself to me when I got into the chair. I only found out that it was the owner working on me because someone said her name. I brought it up to her and she said well we swapped clients because I was running behind. Mind you this was after she was over half way done foiling my hair. I have no problem with this at all except I felt that it should of been brought to my attention when I got there or at least when I was called back. She was not real talkative in the beginning. Which I thought was strange because she is the owner ( even though I didn't know that at that time), but the ice got broken and we chatted it up. She did a good job on my hair. My hair needed it, it had been a long time since I had colored or cut my hair. I am not one to go to salons to get my hair done. I feel that they charge way to much money. I usually have a home based person doing my hair. I feel that if they kept their prices down then people would tip better. I'm talking about any salon here. So for me I was there for 2 1/2 hrs the place was clean not super busy which was actually nice. In the end had a good experience and would recommend this place to others. I had been "growing my hair for a few years, and finally realized that it was really aging me, so I went to my girl, Teresa, at Teresa's Spa and Salon. I had sent a couple of Pinterest "do's" that I liked and we discussed it. I had recently had her cut it from my waist to a long shoulder-length, but I wasn't happy with that length either. I took my daughter there because we saw a Groupon for this location. Before I purchased the Groupon I called and asked about it. I was told not to worry about the Groupon they would honor the price. Sketchy huh?? I wonder if Groupon knew they were making side deals without giving Groupon their entitled cut. Long story short they were shocked when they saw how long my daughters hair was and the stylist didn't know how to do partial highlights on her hair. The owner was literally helping her and I thought to myself they should not be doing this on clients. Training should be after hours. I told them to forget the highlights and just give her a haircut. They cut it dry and did not wash or blow dry and charged me $40. Never again!! read more

Visited this salon for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I had purchased a Groupon to get my hair colored and cut. My appointment was with Ella and she did a terrific job! She was very knowledgable about the dye and the results I could expect (I was dyeing my hair a copper red). She also did a good job on the cut. She gave me exactly what I wanted. I have debated for days as to write this review of Teresa's Salon & Spa in Brighton and after talking to friends and family, have decided I will. On Friday, December 20, 2014, I went there to get a perm. I had Lauren who has cut and colored my hair many times and Jessica, who was helping her. I had to sign an agreement that I would not hold them responsible if it was frizzy. I signed it and they started the perm. Jessica had to coach Lauren through it a lot and I found out that even though Lauren had been a hairdresser at Teresa's for over a year, mine was the first perm she had ever done outside of beauty school. After about two hours, I was finished, and my perm was $60 plus $9 tip and I was told not to wash it for three days and use non-sulfate shampoo when I did. On Saturday morning, December 21, 2014, when I woke up I noticed it was straight as a board. I drove to Teresa's, asked to speak to Lauren who said she was busy with a client. I said I would wait or speak to owner. I eventually spoke to owner who brought up I signed an agreement. I reiterated how my hair looked, she said she would have meeting with girls and left. Jessica asked if I washed it, I said no. She also said it would curl if it was wet. Finally, owner gave me my $60 plus $9 tip back and said she hoped I found a place that suited me better. I hope I do too. One that when they advertise hair salon actually can perform those services for the money you pay them. Also a business that doesn't waste two hours of my day and $60. read more

I had a haircut with Melissa. She was professional, fun and did a great consultation. She told me about products that she thought would work for my hair, but didn't push a sale. The salon was cute and clean, though a bit cramped near the sinks (not so much a problem for the client, but for the stylist). There was no rush, as they devote an hour for each appointment; which was nice for me because I have long, thick hair and definitely needed the full hour. read more

I have been going to Lauren at the salon for 3 years now and have always gotten a great cut. I had to go to another salon when she was on maternity leave but came right back when she returned. I bought a Groupon for Teresa's Salon because I was looking for a new salon and figured I'd try this place out; after all, it is only a few minutes from where I live. I called on a Tuesday and they were able to fit me in for an appointment with Teresa the next afternoon. I arrived ten minutes early, as I usually do wherever I go, and she was still working on another client, which was no big deal. I wasn't in a huge hurry and I was early anyway. The salon itself was super cute. There was a corner by the entrance with tea and coffee options and the decor and colors were warm and inviting. Their was limited staff there (only three women), but they all seemed very friendly. After finishing her client, I was sent over to Teresa's station. I explained to her that I needed platinum blond partial highlights, a trim, and bangs. I also told her I had bought the Groupon for this deal, and she seemed confused. She then explained to me that she personally does not work with the Groupon deals, and that she was not sure why I was given an appointment with her. I was not sure either, as I had told the woman who scheduled my appointment that I had bought a Groupon for it. So, if anybody else is looking to come here with a Groupon, make sure whoever schedules your appointment knows this. Regardless, Teresa was nice enough to accept my Groupon this one time and take my appointment anyway. She started working on my hair around 3:20PM and I was completely finished by 4:30PM, which is the fastest I've ever gotten my hair done (normally it takes 2 or 2.5 hours), but that's not to say she didn't make sure I was getting everything I wanted or rush it- she was very good with making sure I liked the color and that I was happy with the cut, and I was. She also took the time to explain what she was doing and why, which was nice. At the end of the appointment, my hair felt soft and healthy, and the cut and color was just what I wanted. I gave her my Groupon and a tip on top of that for the inconvenience (I wish I could have given more, but unfortunately I am on a budget because I'm in the middle of moving to a new home). I first went to Teresa's salon three years ago when we needed to find a stylist to style my daughter's wedding party. It was 4th of July weekend and every salon in Brighton was closed or couldn't accommodate us. Teresa and one of her stylists were able to style 8 of us that morning. We arrived and she had a continental breakfast waiting for us and she was extremely accommodating. We were ahead of schedule and we all looked fantastic. I had an up do and it looks amazing! Teresa's currently cuts, colors and highlights my hair and she does a fantastic job. I have very curly hair and she knows how to cut curly hair so I leave the salon looking great. She knows how to cut curly hair and my highlights and coloring are the best I have ever had. Very happy with Teresa's Salon. Very disappointed. Had a Groupon and had never been here before but saw the reviews and thought I'd try it since it's close to my new house. Maybe the other stylists are better but mine was SUPER young and maybe inexperienced. I asked for a trim and even told her I was growing my hair out. I asked her to take off an inch or less and she chopped off at least 4 to 5 inches. I went home and cried. I also asked for balayage highlights and she decided that ombre would be better. I look like a reverse skunk! People at my work were shocked when they saw me. I had shown them the picture of what I wanted so they were shocked when I came in the next day looking like I did. I am going back to my old salon and will gladly pay full price for them to fix it :-( read more
