Absolutely awful. Please do not waste your time. We were sat at 6:40,got a drink at 7:17, Apps. 7:40, entree at 8:10. Tiny portions and not a lot of flavor. My husband ordered a frozen margarita for $13 it was served in a champagne flute . We love to support local. Unfortunately we won't be back. read more

AMAZING FOOD! GREAT FIND!! First of all, beautiful night sitting outside with the gorgeous view of the river and bridge. But the food was fantastic. The chips (homemade) came with salsa to the table -- delicious! We had the crab empanadas and you could tell how much care went into making these. We shared the chicken mole tacos and shrimp tacos. Both unbelievable. The owner even came over to us and asked us how we were enjoying our dinner. If we hadn't been in the CBS building we would never have found this place. I consider myself a great critic of all food in general (for a variety of reasons LOL), and I WILL find my way back to this place. Additionally, wait staff -- very attentive! JUST GO THERE. Lastly, I don't know what others are saying about Mexican flavor... it was all on point, and was VERY inexpensive! read more

Horrible service, food and drinks. Way over priced and food was flavorless. We will not be going back anytime soon, probably never. read more

The drinks, chips and guacamole plate were amazing. The location and the service was great too. We really enjoyed our dinners as well. I hope this restaurant is here to stay. read more

Great view, great food and drinks, and the service was spectacular - they went above and beyond. We will definitely go back soon!

Ice-cold stale tortillas for the tacos. Taco tortillas are supposed to hot/warm and fresh and soft! Completely DRY limes cut in thin slices (wrong way of cutting limes) so it was IMPOSSIBLE to get a drop of lime for the fish tacos. Do NOT come here for the food. Waitress was super nice, I felt sorry for her because she was putting in her best effort but the food was horrendous. Please do not serve "Mexican" food if you don't know the first thing about Mexican food and BASIC Mexican food methodology. read more

Okay so tacos by the water was definitely a vibe. The drinks were pricey, but tasty and alcohol-heavy. The service was slower, but very friendly. The food was very good, but arrived at the table a bit cold (due to the outdoor setting). The food was definitely overpriced but enjoyable. Overall, come for the drinks, stay for the waterfront view, and enjoy a tasty snack. read more

Chilly weather tonight so we dined inside, in the atrium. 5 stars for all categories, service, drinks and food. We went with the happy hour menu and got absolutely delicious mini nachos, beefy egg rolls, a cute and yummy chicken app, and followed this up with the amazing fresh guac and chips and "next level" brisket tacos. My husband (who is from Texas) says the tacos rival ones he has had in Houston. Service was great- the young man who waited on us kept an eagle eye on us and even anticipated our needs. While we were hoping to eat outside, a silver lining is the food could not have been hotter or fresher, it was like it was off the stove and onto our table. The folks around us were enjoying a variety of $5 margaritas but we stuck with icy cold beers. Great experience all around! read more

Where do I begin? I'm not someone that normally takes the time to write a review, but this place was so terrible that I just had to let others know to STAY AWAY! It was our first anniversary and the experience was so awful it's almost comical. I made reservations for 6:30, we arrive and the girl who sat us tells us "due to limited capacity you can only dine for an hour 30 to make room for other people to enjoy." Well you don't need that much time here...at all. So that left a bad taste in my mouth to start. Then we are told you don't need to order through your sever but just go on their app and order everything off of there website. So now we don't even need to interact or communicate with our server, and even better, promote being on our phone during dinner. Awful. Now let's get to drinks. We order a strawberry margarita and a pineapple margarita. First off, the glass is so small it's basically a shot and half, second it was so watered down (was there even tequila in it?) third the taste had no taste. We are at a Mexican restaurant right? So we send them back and they do right by bringing us a new drinks and we decide to just try their basic margarita. Those were okay but not great by any means. At this point we just can't wait to order our food thinking it can't get any worse...oh but it can. My boyfriend ordered a fajita, $20 for grilled vegetables. If you want to add meat, an additional charge. If you want to add fixings, such as sour cream and salsa, that's also an additional charge. So the the total for the fajita with all additional charges comes to $28. The salsa taste like tomatoe sauce, the vegetables were so slim it barely filled up two wraps, let alone the four they give you. Awful just awful. I ordered three tacos, which were $7 each. My shrimp taco, came with 1 shrimp, and was in a taco wrap that taste like cardboard. My swordfish taco, had three bits of swordfish, the steak taco had three slices of steak wrapped in another cardboard wrap. Just awful. I've never been to a place where the service, drinks, and food were all so disappointing. Save your $$$ and don't come here! This place needs a lot of work to get even get close to 2 stars. read more

At first I thought was amazing food and until I got there and the food was not ever Mexican, all dry and not great taste. No food come on the time and it cold. But beautiful outside the river. Food boo bland. I won't return. read more

Don't bother terrible lousy service and food served out of tent ! Expensive food was terrible! Yes on the river but not worth it whatsoever. We requested our appetizer and entree be served at the same time. We received our appetizer but not our entree. And waited almost 1/2 hour for the entree after we finished our appetizer. 3 little tacos no flavor and thank god we had some sauce from appetizer to add some flavor. I asked for a lemon sherbet cocktail and when it was served I asked the waiter Danny where is the lemon sherbet and he responded with its in the drink somewhere!!!! Terrible and we don't mind spending the money for a good meal but the entree was more Like tapas! Never again!! Same owner as the River which above read more

This was not what I thought it would be. I ordered the Pork Carnitas and the rice and beans were cold and there were large pieces of fat in the tacos. The taco shells were also breaking apart due to some type of "juice" underneath them, which I don't believe was from the pork as the rest of the taco wasn't juicy. read more

Drinks are good, albeit small. Food was disappointing. Beef empanadas were cold with an odd crust. The beef was accompanied by beans (beans were out of place). Steak chimichurri was actually good but the accompanying rice and beans tasted microwaved. All in all a disappointing meal. read more

Great views. Beautiful location. Friendly and attentive wait staff (Maddie). Food disappointing. Queso was cold cheese sauce not traditional cheese dip. Black beans were puréed and overly salty. Margaritas were watery, served without salt or sugar rims, small for price. We really wanted to like this spot and hope it will improve. read more

Not impressed at all. We made a reservation for 7 pm and we were seated right away. We ordered through their online ordering service and got our drinks right away. They were okay, but not much to rave about. We ordered our appetizers. My friends received theirs and ours was not brought out. After about ten minutes we asked and they said they never received the order, but it was processed on my end through the app. We told them to cancel that because at that point we just wanted our food. Our food finally came out at 8:15. We were seated for an hour and fifteen minutes before any food was brought out. We ordered around 7:15 so it took an hour to come out. I'm a very patient person and understand how restaurants can be busy and run behind. However, I wait an hour for my food and it comes out cold. If it came out great, I wouldn't have minded as much. Finally the owner comes around and asks us how everything was. We were honest about the food and how it came out cold and how long it took.. her response was "well you are eating outside". Yes.. that's true. However, my first bite should have been warm. I understand food can get cold over time, but the first bite should have been AT LEAST warm, if not hot. We received no apology from her. She continued to complain about low staffing, which I understand due to covid. But like I said, not even an apology. I'm super upset with how business was handled and I will not return. The only good part of this experience was our waitress. She was amazing and super understanding and came to check on us multiple times! read more

Hands down the best most authentic Mexican food I've had in this state by far! The quesadilla was to die for! Great portions and prices. Not to mention an amazing view of the river. Definitely a will be back read more

This is a place that if the weather is cooperative only serves outdoors, but what is great is that it is outdoors on the bank of the CT. River! Fantastic views! We went on a Saturday night and had to wail a bit for a table but they served us drinks while we waited so everything was wonderful. When we got our table we ordered the Guacamole and Salsa app which was great as it had two kinds of guac and two different salsas. Also got the crab empanada which was very tasty. Then we did a bunch of different tacos on homemade corn tortillas. All were fabulous! Drinks were great too. Be back soon. read more

My husband and I went last night at 6 p.m. for our 44th anniversary. The view is lovely and the quiet music behind the seating area was pleasant. Our server came to take our drink order fairly quickly and we ordered our food at the same time. Came out in reasonable time. My filet mignon was okay, the black beans and chimichurri sauce very good and my husband's food was good but my rice was cold. When our server came by maybe 5 minutes later, we told her and my husband asked for more water. You can probably guess. She said she'd bring water and request a side of new rice. Neither came by the end of the meal despite her stopping twice and telling us the rice was coming it was coming. Very disappointing. Why she told me the rice was coming for at least a half hour I don't know. read more

Food was overpriced and inadequate. Ordered tequila shrimp and when got home realized didn't get the rice and beans. The pollo quesadilla hardly had any filling. Where was the chicken?? We are still hungry and angry paid so much for so little. read more

Great spot! Came in with some friend for drinks and the view. The mango habanero margarita is my favorite along with the pork carnitas tacos. Will definitely be back soon. Brittany was our sever was delightful and very helpful. read more

Made reservations online with inside seating request (due to rain in the forecast) with special instructions for a birthday which was never acknowledged by the waiter. Received a call 1/2 hr before reservation that only outdoor dining was being offered, agreed to keep reservations anyway. Got there right on time but took a while to find where the "restaurant" was inside the building, poor signage & had to walk through a parking garage. When we finally found the hostess, table & chairs were wet & had to wait for them to be wiped down. Food was below average, especially for what it cost. Ordered the skirt steak tacos and the tortilla was neither hard nor soft, just crumbled & I couldn't even pick them up. The rice was mush. Live music advertised on the website wasn't there, instead there was a large party under the tent blasting music competing with the other restaurant's music. Very disappointing experience for a location & cuisine that has so much potential. read more

Will never go back. We went arrived around 1:30 for lunch and were sweated right away. We ordered drinks and took 20 minutes for them to arrive. Our burrito literally had only five black beans with mostly rice as filler. Bland and flavorless, most certainly over priced. When we inquired why the meals were missing pico de gallo the server said they were out but we were never informed of this. Our beef tostados were missing most of the components that were listed on the menu. When the food arrived the server dropped it off to us without even bothering to hand us utensils; which took another 5 minutes to bring out. Overall one of the worst experiences in dining out in my life. This is not really Mexican food. read more

Me & my girls came here for a night out to enjoy ourselves and we were highly disappointed. The food was not good at all, except for the appetizers. We ordered the guac & chips, it was good, especially the spicy mango salsa. The crabmeat empanadas were not tasty and the dough was soft and doughy, not like a typical empanada. Me & my girl ordered the pork carnitas. The pork was dry, fatty and salty. My other girls ordered the coconut habanero shrimp tacos and, again, way too salty. Our waitress also asked us if we wanted rice & beans or street corn with our food, which gave us the impression that this came with the meal, but it was $12 additional for the rice & beans, which were horrible. I specifically asked for regular black beans because I'm not fond of refried beans, but thats what arrived. When I made a comment about this, the waitress argued that she had clearly said they were refried beans...which she did not. We were also asked if we wanted more chips and were charged again for that, which we did not expect to be. Traditionally, extra chips is complimentary. I will also add that the waitress kept calling us "honey", "love" & "babe". When we requested to speak to the owner who had greeted us earlier, & who was very nice, the manager came instead and asked, in a very condescending manner, if we had read the menu when we complained to her, basically insinuating that we were stupid. She was also explaining that the pork belly tacos are supposed to be cooked that way. Me & my girls always go out to eat and have gone to Mexican restaurants and have eaten similar foods and this was not good at all. Poor service and poor quality of food, especially for the $200 bill. Not a good experience and will definitely not return. read more

This is Pete C, was just there tonight. Wow, what a great place! The outdoor seating was just right. Food was great, service was great, manager came to every table and asking how everyone was doing...she really made us feel welcome which we appreciated. Tom was out waiter, he was friendly and attentive. Overall a wonderful experience! I am definitely going back. If I can give 10 stars I would in a heartbeat! I recommend this place for all occasions. read more

Location by the river is awesome. DRINKS were highlight of the meal especially La Chinampa and spicy margarita. Food highlight was the Guacamole 2 Ways and the Grilled Mahi Mahi. The BBQ Beef tostadas and Crabmeat empanada were a disappointment. The empanada in phyllo dough was a surprise with no real seasoning to crabmeat. The Tequila Lime Cured salmon tasted like smoked lox with no hint of being lime cured. We had 2 orders of Oaxacan marinated steak: one medium rare and one medium. Both were overcooked, not warm with no flavor. Unfortunately, service was also sporadic with Mahi Mahi dish coming out after we finished our dinner plate (good thing we were impolite and did not wait for everyone to have dinner plate before starting). Tres leche dessert lacked the signature moisture of tres leche. Wanted this place to be better given location but location does not trump the food. read more

This is a newer restaurant and the one that is supposedly owned by the same group is really good, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered 2 margaritas, habanero coconut shrimp tacos and filet mignon with chimichurri. The server said nothing comes with the filet and asked if we were we interested in sides (rice, rice & beans). Yes, ordered the rice. He was correct. Nothing on the large white plate except the filet with a minuscule amount of chimichurri dotted on it, not even artfully if that was what they were going for. I had to remember what it was supposed to be, it looked like a few dots of pesto. I asked for more chimichurri and got it about 15 minutes later when the steak was cold. The shrimp tacos had NO heat at all (habanero?) and the coconut reference must have been coconut milk because something resembled mayo in the dish. Taco shells weren't heated, raw and rubbery. There was no flavor what so ever. Rice was also cold and flavorless. The only reason for the 2 stars was the meat was tender and had the potential to be tasty. Drinks tasty but VERY small. read more

So sad. I ate here and the food was delicious. I returned and the service was poor but still enjoyed my meal that I overlooked the service. However, this last (third time) time and it will be the last time, I had such an awful experience. We were seated at 6:30 pm. We received our ordered cocktails and water. We ordered within 20 minutes. It was 8:20 when we received our ICE COLD food. I don't know where it sat, but it never made it to our table. Meanwhile, all that time we waited, our waitress never came back to refill our water or ask if we'd at least like another cocktail. We returned our meals for hot ones. We did get a hot meal which was good, but the only thing that was offered to us for our long wait, poor service, and aggravation was a free cocktail. Well we declined and nothing more was offered. Needless to say we will not be returning and it's really too bad. This owner is obviously working hard to get her business off the ground but needs more waitresses, a bus boy to clear tables and fill waters, and a cook that gets food to tables in a timely manner. Also, what is going on with the table size? The table for 4 really only sits 2 comfortably. read more
