Location middle of orchard beach, which was a plus, decided to visit because there was a lot of people dining in. Sat at the bar. Drinks meh, it was happy hour. So I just felt as they just made the drink really fast and didn't care to put much effort in making a good margarita. The nachos was so big. Couldn't finish it, it can easily be shared amongst 4 people. Food wasn't up to par. I mean when you're drinking and just want something to much on I just then it's okay. But o wouldn't give it another go. Sorry no sorry read more

Tequila Frogs - Mr. Frog's Famous Nachos - Mexican Near Me - Old Orchard Beach, Maine

I've been coming to OOB for years and years and this was my first time trying out Tequila Frogs. Now that I'm a vegetarian (and I don't enjoy seafood) it's a little more difficult to choose places to eat in OOB. Tequila Frogs menu is half Mexican food and half BBQ, so I thought I'd be able to find something on the menu. The Mexican food was simply not good, and I would not come back here. I ordered the guacamole burrito. It said it comes with pico but I promise there was no pico in that burrito. I also asked if they could add peppers and onions to the burrito. They said they had no peppers but would put onions, but they did not. It was rice beans and guac. Very mushy, bland, not very filling, not good. On the other hand, my family loved the BBQ ribs they ordered. So, maybe if you come here only for the BBQ half of the menu, then it's worth it. Meaning, there is nothing here for vegetarians or vegans. They have a big patio for sitting outside, as well as a lot of indoor seating and a bar. I love being able to sit outside and people watch at the pier. The music was so loud that it was hard to hold conversations though. Also the women's bathroom was out of soap. Overall a bit disappointing. read more

Not on the water... But! Right on the next street with outdoor seating and attentive professional quick service. Food was decent, drinks we had were Coronas. The busy street kind of sucks. read more

The food was okay.. just stopped for an appetizer and drink... The staff- super nice and attentive! Finally get to see some other cultures... reason being Maine apparently has a certain way of treating people of color differently... Drinks were STRONG. Food was standard Mexican food. Was over priced for what you get but if you want some frozen drinks, a corona, and some basic nachos or tacos it's a good spot. read more

Today we started off with a Bahama Mama bucket was good but could have been stronger. Nachos were also good but the ratio of chicken to veggie/chips was off. Definitely a lot of meat, that being said the chicken was soft, smoky, and delicious. The brisket was a bit dry, slaw was good but had a tiny bit too much dressing, corn bread was great and over all soft but one side of it was hard as a rock. The ribs fell off the bone and were pretty good. Fries were normal and the corn was a little hard and tasteless. Overall not a bad spot for a change up from all the seafood on the strip. read more

Winding down our trip to Maine and stopped at this spot right off the parking lot.....PLEASE....keep walking. There is SO much more to fill your stomach and you will spend less further down the block. The chips were stale and the salsa tasted like it came from a can, so maybe that's why they were happy hour? Maybe from the previous night. The haddock was overcooked and was lumped under some kind of sprinkle cheese and a sauce with no flavor and was frankly gross. It had a few big pieces of cilantro on top and that was it. It was awful. My husband had the pulled park burrito and it was OK. Nothing fantastic here. Keep walking. Not worth it for the food or price! read more

Tequila Frogs is located in the heart of old orchard beach and is the only " Mexican " restaurant in that area. I have visited this restaurant twice in the past two years. The first time we just had drinks salsa and chips. The second time we had dinner and drinks. For dinner I had a brisket burrito which was 20$, the size of the burrito was no bigger than the palm of your hand and lacked flavor . In my opinion Taco Bell's burritos are better and way bigger. Husband got pulled pork sandwich which was dry it came with a side he chose French fries. The service was HORRIBLE she brought ketchup to table ten min after we started eating and by then there was no point on having ketchup. The bathroom is a whole different issue can we say DISGUSTING fecal matter all over one of the woman's toilet seat, I informed management which in my opinion management should not have to be told by a customer as to how disgusting the bathroom is management should do their job and check bathrooms once in while. I have given this business two opportunities to see if they stepped up their game and sadly they have not. I would not recommend Tequila Frogs and I obviously will not go back. read more

Online menu is incorrect, hours are incorrect, phone is not working. Crispy Buffalo chicken sandwich is anything but and looks like vending machine patty chicken. To go Taco salad came with a very small sour cream and no salsa with Ranch dressing??? Prices are high for low quality food. read more

I order a Mexican mule and came with a mosquito, I order a Buffalo chicken salads and the chicken was old and cold. Service was slow and spotty at best. My husband ordered pork sandwich with fries and they brought it with rice ( cold old rice ) They still charged me for the salad I returned. And after I complained that made my husband and I seat for 20 minutes before they came asking if we needed anything and than we asked for the check which than toke them another 10 minutes to come get the card. Typical beach tequila bar - I wouldn't come here expecting any frills or 5 star cuisine, but if you go in with that in mind the experience isn't a bad one. The staff was friendly, not very quick, but made sure we were eventually taken care of. Our drinks were good (very strong) and the queso appetizer was enough to tide us over to our dinner reservation down the street. Tequila Frogs is a good hangout spot to spend time with friends, grab a couple drinks and move on. It's not the cleanest or the fanciest place, but it's on par for OOB and other bars in the immediate area. I'd be back for another drink for sure! read more

We love the nachos here, they're a meal themselves. My husband and daughter also love the quesadillas and my favorite are the chicken tinga tacos. The service is always quick and efficient. When we visit we prefer to sit outside and people watch, but they have plenty of seating inside as well. The place is nothing fancy, but the perfect casual stop for lunch or dinner after a day on the beach. read more

Macoroni and cheese was not good. What they called corn bread were tiny store bought mini muffins. Drinks were not good. Did not even salt glass of margarita. Beef brisket was good. Chicken was dry. It was nice sitting outside. Waitress was nice. read more

Terrible, terrible! I will absolutely not return to this place! I ordered chicken nachos and a chicken chimichanga. The nachos had a watery chicken tinga concoction and the chimichanga was filled with rice. I ordered a peach coronarita that had no peach taste whatsoever. I asked the waitress why did I get an original flavor when I ordered peach and her response was: "oh, it's peach, I saw her made it, maybe on the next one I'll ask her to put extra peach flavor" needless to say, I got charged an extra dollar for the peach and $4 extra for the chicken chimichanga. Will not go back nor recommend this place. Ps: and you get a circled recommendation of what to tip! read more

Easily one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. If you're sitting down here, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY.

Came here because the menu options was more extensive then the restaurant next door and immediately regretted it. Food was terrible. We had a party of 6, all ordered something different and everyone's meal was worse then the next. I could microwave frozen food at home and it wouldn't have been better. This place was very confusing walking in.. Mexican look and feel but bbq smell and menu?! The Bartender dropped the F bomb like the word "the" but she made one of the best margaritas we've had anywhere!!! We ordered: fried pickles... ehhh.. not great. pulled pork quesadilla were really good! Mac n' cheese was just ok .. definitely not hot and fresh. Place smells a bit like sewer and old oil, definitely not a place for neat freaks or those who are afraid of germs! read more

Beyond gross. Do not go here. Aside from the service being ridiculously slow when we finally got our food it was disgusting. "Beef" Taco was 99% fat and gristle. Completely inedible. The place itself was dirty and the bathroom smelled like it had never been cleaned read more

If I could rate lower I would. Food was terrible. Very expensive. Wait staff was ok. Our complaints went on deaf ears. Went there two years ago and food was great. What the $&@? Happened? Very disappointed was definitely the poorest quality food I've ever had in an establishment. Don't waste your time or money eating here. read more

So disappointing. This place smells AMAZING from outside and it's a fun place. They give you hats and are very friendly. I ordered the BBQ pork tacos, a rum bowl, and the carina Rita. My dad and boyfriend ordered the ribs, my mom ordered the quesadilla. The ribs were WAY OVER COOKED. To the point that they were very dry, burnt so bad that the bones crumbled. We sent that back. We ordered nachos to start which were good. My tacos were not good. I think whatever they grilled on was making the food taste too smokey. The quesadillas were sub par. I've had better Mexican food for sure. I wish they played more Spanish music as well considering the atmosphere. Overall the drinks were really good. The rum bucket was the best I had over the weekend! If you come here I wouldn't get the food but the drinks are wort read more

Came on July 3rd. They were quick and the brisket was surprisingly amazing. 10/10 would return and recommend.

Very disappointed with this place. Everything is paper and plastic, no real dishes or silverware. The food was gross I couldn't even finish it. I got the fried haddock tacos and they were literally frozen fish sticks fried with a bunch of pickled onions on top. Yuck. The fried pickles were pickle spears with way too much batter. Couldn't eat them. Will not return and don't recommend. They charge way too much for the food and it's not even good. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

States BBQ, has smoker outside, however we ordered the BBQ platter sausage and chicken. It lacked any smoke flavor. Clearly it was only oven backed and slathered with sub par BBQ sauce. Mac & Cheese was pretty awful. Fries were hot and tasty. Would not waste the time and money on this place. It is not BBQ. read more

Decided to have dinner here last night, as it was one of the few places in OOB without a long wait. About two minutes into our meal, a girl who had been over served threw up all over the ground directly next to our table. Between seeing her actually throw up, and then having to smell it, we obviously had lost our appetites, and had barely even had a chance to touch our meals. The manager did move us to a different table, where we paid our bill and left. Such a terrible experience, and they didn't even offer to comp our drinks or make any kind of small gesture. $100 for meals no one ate. read more

Plastic cutery, plates and even cup for the margarita I ordered. Slow service despite being not busy atall. Waitress didn't check on us. Three of us ordered the two five dollar tacos. Six came on two plates (three and three) and we were told we had to take two off of them for the third person ( he didn't get his own plate). Food not authentic atall and chips and salsa definitely was store bought and out of a bag. Don't waste your money!! This place could be on the show kitchen nightmares lol. read more

The food seemed like it was frozen and then thawed. Bland with a weird texture. Way over-priced for the quality that was served.

Save your money! So first of all, like many people that stay up at OOB, we had walked by this place many times and thought about trying it because it was always packed and smelled good. In reality, we should have kept walking! Just to get our drinks was a 15 minute wait. We were given excuses about the hostess in training. Let me just say that the timeliness did not improve once our waitress came by. The only thing they were fast about was bringing us the $80 bill for their worthless food. Our order looked like this: - buffalo chicken dip - Kids chicken tenders - bean & cheese burrito - Baja fish tacos - drinks The buffalo dip came out hot at least. All you could really taste was the vinegar in it. And the house chips must have been cooked that morning and left out, as they were stale. The kids tenders I'm pretty sure are boxed frozen "nuggets" from BJ's, definitely not tenders! The burrito was filled with other vegetables not listed on the menu, and was soggy and cold. The taco's were cold, stale bread, and covered in so much sauce you couldn't taste anything else! Additionally, you would think a manager would come talk to us when we voiced our complaints to the server. But we were told he claimed he didn't work our ticket, so he couldn't do anything. Piss poor customer service! I've had better, fresher food from McDonald's. Do yourself a favor, and dont ignore all the negative reviews! They are all posted for a very valid reason! read more

The food was okay, but dry. My waiter was really nice and quick on service. My wife's food was not to her liking and she requested to be taken back to the kitchen, when we got our tab at the end of our meal, the bartender was arguing with our server about taking it off our tab. Was gonna ask for my military discount but the bartender was arguing with my waitress at the time and I didn't want to give her more reason to be rude. read more

Food was bland, and clearly not fresh, service was very slow, drink served in incorrect glass, I could've gotten 100 dollars in pier fried food and had better quality. KEEP WALKING read more

Service was slow, music was strange, chips were stale, food order was forgotten, and happy hour only included plain margaritas. The staff double checked my group's IDs and called pier security claiming that 3/7 had fakes (we're CT college roommates from CT, NY, MA, and PA here on summer break), and the security guard proceeded to point out things on my friend's CT ID that made it seem photoshopped/fake and almost took it from her. Would give 0 stars if possible. read more

Tequila Frogs - a drink in a glass with a lime wedge - Mexican Near Me - Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Fun atmosphere! Good drinks!Good food! My family of 5 got an appetizer platter and loved it! Plenty of food.

We had seen other yelp reviews and seen their drink menus and things online and were excited for a bucket of Margaritas. They didn't have that menu or we were there too early in the season to get it (we asked). The live music wasn't bad & we ordered margaritas and chips & salsa (nothing to write home about). Our service was sub-par and I understand now why most places in OOB have 1/2 stars. read more

Two stars because the drinks were actually very good/strong! Our waitress was nice too but everything else was BAD. The restaurant is dirty and the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. They give you no complimentary chips and salsa and overall the food was just horrible. I normally like Mexican food/Texmex but I wouldn't consider what we got either of the two. The meats were extremely dry, my side of corn was watery like it had just been dumped from a can, and nothing tasted authentic or even flavorful. Not a bad place to grab a drink but if you want decent food you're better off going to the pizza stand across the street. read more

First things first. BBQ or Mexican? Lmfao Wow, I wish I went on Yelp before we decided upon. Come for the drinks. Actually, don't waste your time. The service is god awful. The poor manager helped my girlfriend and I and another table when the incompetent staff couldn't keep up with a semi busy Friday night. Foods flavorless, beer's are sort of cold, and the service is awful. If you want your fries to taste like the donuts at the end of the pier or your Mac and cheese to literally require salt, BBQ sauce, and hot sauce, this place is for you. read more

Do not go here. Slow night took 45 minutes for our food. Two plates did not make it out for another 5 minutes. Food was all cold. Experience was bad so we said something to our waitress and she was holding back tears because she said the kitchen staff won't communicate with the servers. Finally the "manager" who couldn't be more than 21 came our to apologize which we appreciated but did not offer us remade food. Although he comped meals. He apologized a couple of times but it was not sincere. We left a tip for the waitress and left. We walked out and there was another family who had experienced a situation like ours but worse. Don't go here Update: ask them to open their smokers. We stayed across the street for the week at The Grand Victorian. Never once witnessed any meat being put on the smokers or being taken off. Once during the week saw a guy checking the charcoal/wood. Remember it takes a long time to smoke brisket or a pork shoulder. There is no way they are serving fresh cooked stuff daily because they start the smokers around 9am or after read more

Honestly terrible. Bad overpriced food, paper plates and plastic utensils, the service was so so bad. Asked for margarita with no salt but got salt, and it didn't even taste good. Definitely wouldn't recommend read more

Horrible! Bad food and overpriced. Dirty bathrooms. Weak margarita with zero alcohol. Do yourself a favor and just get some pizza and pier fries if you have to eat at the pier area. read more

We stopped here as our last stop and left disappointed... first, our margaritas tasted like the overly sweet premade bucket mix you buy at the store and were very weak. Our 6 year old's food was delivered about 15 minutes before the adults so by the time we received our meals she had already finished and had to wait for us to eat. After eating one slice of our Mexican pizza (which tasted good, aside from the meat being dry) I found a hair baked into the cheese. The waitress handled it very professionally and was apologetic before sending the manager over to see us. She offered to remake it but we declined and she ended up comping the dish, which was very nice.. the place is really nothing to write home about and we won't be returning. read more
