I found a nice fitting pair and bought 2 in different colors. Back at the hotel I put on one and a belt loop pulled out when I pulled them up. We went back the next day and had an easy return, plus this associate asked if I was military, and I'm a veteran, so she returned both and applied a 15% discount and we got the new pairs. Great shopping experience.

Add in local ownership (they also have a store downtown on Broad). Season with a dash of outdoor/adventure expertise - as someone else mentioned, the staff can help with local trail-specific footwear, and the activity log in back is pretty cool. They let me jog outside to test out the shoes. They spent like 45 minutes with -measuring my feet and giving me suggestions. I asked for the most inexpensive shoes that would provide great support for my short distance running (currently up to a mile). Davis enthusiastically brought out 6 different pair. He didn't have the "man-I've-really gotta-sell-so-I-can-make-good-commission" face either. It seemed like he genuinely wanted to help me. I ended up buying socks along with my new Hoka running shoes. Champions Club is a city owned, pay-to-play tennis club. No…read moremembership fees, just fees for each time you use the courts. The facilities are quite nice - 21 outdoor courts, with ~16 of the courts being lit for night play. It's right on the water, so if you're on the front 8 courts, you also have a wonderful distraction - looking over the river. The soundtrack here is tennis balls being hit and sounds of water crashing on the shore. Many tournaments are held here and a few leagues. The clubhouse is quite nice, just a hallway on the 1st floor, but lots of seating on the 2nd floor with windows out to the bleachers and views of all the courts. There aren't indoor courts, so can't do much on the rainy days here, but otherwise - it's a nice place all around. The challenge is finding the right address. (The one used here @ 1600 Lupton is what Champions Club puts on their mail - and gets you closest to the courts when using gmaps - at the end of Dixie Drive)
