When I asked if animals were allowed, I was told they were not, but that this dog was a service animal. I understand and respect the need for legitimate service animals; however, this particular situation made me uncomfortable, as the dog was sitting in a stroller and did not appear to be actively assisting anyone. Knowing that animals may be allowed around the food area makes me uneasy, and unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable eating at this restaurant anymore.

Damned if I didn't get the perfect bite with the greens, beans, avocado, chicken, and fried jalapeño... simply amazing. Flavorful, with heat, but NOT spicy... Had a really crappy day, this lunch turned things around. If you are in the Fresno/Clovis Area and have NOT tried the local, you are missing out.

What makes Neighbor's so perfect is that two friends arrived first, and despite being just a group of two, they were able to snag a table for 8. As other friends showed up over the next hour, we just kept adding to our table. And our server was wonderful! He greeted each new person/couple and quickly took their order. At one point, the poor guy had 4 different orders put in on 5 separate checks. But everything was delivered promptly and to the right person, despite us constantly shuffling around the table and changing spots with each new arrival. I just love the casual and laid back vibe at Neighbor's! The food is also delicious and fair priced, and my draft beer was icy cold and only 5 bucks.

They have a decent selection of beers on tap (about 10-12 if I recall correctly) and I tried a couple of their IPAs, which were both great. The kitchen was unfortunately closed so I can't comment about the food, but this seems like a great place to hang out at the bar and grab a couple of beers if you happen to be in town.

My husband reordered pancakes instead, which came out quickly and tasted much better. However, while he was still eating, the waiter tried to take his plate before he was finished, which felt rushed and awkward. The menu overall also felt overpriced for the quality and selection offered. It honestly seemed like there were more alcoholic drink options than breakfast choices. We really wanted to like this place, but between the limited menu, disappointing food, and service issues, we probably won't be returning.
