BEST RISOTTO IN THE WORLD
Annette R.

Without a doubt Ten con Ten has THE best risotto in the world, PERIOD! I've been coming to this restaurant for years and always come back for the same reason, THE RISOTTO! They are so consistent in the way they prepare it, I can't stress this enough. The most incredible thing is that they don't even use rice but semolina, which is wheat. Is the creamiest, richest risotto that you will ever try. The complementary soup is always a HIT. Warms you up and opens your appetite. This time we also decided to try some new dishes like the foie gras Mille-feuille which was ok, a little too dense to my liking. Maybe it needed some crackers, fruits or something to pair it with. We also had the "Salpicon de King Crab", delicious! My husband ordered the seared tuna and I got jealous. It looked and tasted amazing. I know the restaurant can be a little uncomfortable because of how crowded and noisy it can get but again "THE RISOTTO" is worth the visit, trust me!

Great place to have a cocktail and then dinner. Everything was delicious. The service was attentive but not pushy. We sat for 2 hours and shared dishes until we could eat ok more. Great food and ambiance.

This place was a little far away from the main part of the city but it was highly rated so we made the decision to try it out. It was romantic, classy, more of an upscale environment. I would dress up a little. The food was excellent and so was the service.

Came here for our first lunch in Spain. Did NOT disappoint! We started with the spinach croquettes which were mouth watering good! Crispy outside and soft inside. My wife and I shared the picana with cassava and plantain chips which was cooled perfectly cooked and salted to perfection. The star of the show was the risotto. Amazing!

We really enjoyed our meal here! We made a last-minute reservation the same day. The complimentary watermelon gazpacho, Iberian ham (came with bread), and truffle risotto were standouts. The service was great--they even split our dishes into two portions for us.

Wow, this place was recommended by a niece and also our tour guide from Granada Exclusive. We had spinach croquettes, pulpo, sea bass and the scallops! Definitely you must try it out.

Surprising find on a Madrid wine list but it was very good

Because, Madrid, in reality, is nothing special. It does not have a great river, and hardly any skyscrapers. No channels, no lakes. Neither glorious ruins, nor sea. Madrid lacks a lot of things. But it has people in the streets. The unexpected corner. The variety. The contrast. The constant animation. And its customs. It is worth getting up early - for once - to live one day of the life of Madrid.' - Miguel Mihura The above quote describes Madrid perfectly, and why I like it more than Barcelona. Madrid is a way of life, the best way. Ten con Ten was recommended by our Wine & Tapas tour guide and it was everything we wanted on our last night in Spain. The service started off sketchy, we are tourists after all, but once I ordered the 2015 Prado Enea (solid pricing, only 2x over retail), we were treated as locals and the night became magical. Everything we ordered was wonderful: Truffle risotto, wagyu carpaccio, oysters, roasted black cod, grilled pichana and several others I have forgotten. It was the perfect way to end Madrid after several days of authentic cuisine and tapas. This was refined Spanish food taken to the next level. The sommelier recommended a Washington! wine from 2007 which was lovely although I should have just ordered one more Prado Enea. When I came back to the states I bought two more bottles at $90 each from the Wine Exchange in OC. Highly recommended as is Madrid ;-)

Service was great and we had a very friendly waiter who helped us. No complain there. This restaurant was recommended by our receptionist at the hotel and we asked for Spanish Tapas food. But half the menu is Italian. So I am not sure why it was recommended. Cheese tray was pretty good (although half of the cheeses were nothing exceptional and can be found in US) so for $30 I thought it was pricy for a cheese platter. The risotto and the pasta were recommended by the manger. But both had the same exact flavor and sauce so I am not sure why he would recommend two dishes that taste exactly the same. I gotta say the risotto was the best risotto I have ever had. So I would highly recommend it. I was also looking forward to my scaloppinis but unfortunately the breading was wet and not crispy. It was not executed well. Although this restaurant is very popular, I would probably not recommend it.

Unfortunately a very average experience with Ten Con Ten. It started with a group of girls taking very corny Instagram pictures at the front door blocking the entrance which was not a good sign. They could not find our reservation we made well in advance so they stuck us in the back next to a waiters stand. Every 5 minutes I was bumped by a waiter trying to hurry to the computer screen. After being seated we waited 20 minutes with only a food menu, no water and no wine or cocktail menu and asked if we were ready to order. We sent him away to look at our drink menus first. 15 minutes later our waiter returned to take our order where we ordered the Truffle Linguine, Suckling Pig and Orange/Pine Nut Salad. While we waited for our dish, we were brought a bowl of plain bread (no butter or spread) that we did not ask for and charged 8 euros for it after not taking one bite. The Pig was excellent, had tons of flavor but there was only enough sauce for one of the two small pieces that they give you. The Truffle Linguine was good, it had an egg yolk on top that helped cream up the flat sauce, and it clearly incorporated some kind of fake Truffle oil/salt/seasoning although it was still a good pasta. Alto the truffle slices they added to the pasta werw mixed in so they were no soggy from the sauce. The salad was a good concept but had Avacado, Orange, Pine Nuts, Vinegar Dressing, Grapes; in my opinion with that much citrus and that thick of a dressing, the Avacado does not belong. It turned into mush and made it a creamy citrus mush salad. Overall the food was almost at the level of the cost, although being rushed to order, poor seating and the lack of customer service etiquette unfortunately left our experience with a sour taste. I recommend giving it a try although be comfortable paying for the location and Instagram vibe rather than fine dining.

Wow. What an incredible experience. The food was fabulous. Starting with the goat cheese salad, the pumpkin consommé, the mussels and pheasant croquettes were ridiculously good. Their hot sauce was over the top. The wine was great. Priced well. Definitely an expensive restaurant but so well worth it. The service is wonderful and the restaurant is beautiful. The sirloin was OK for my perspective, but it also might've been because I was so beyond stuffed.

Burrata fig salad

This place came highly recommended by a friend who had just visited Madrid on his honeymoon--and it did not . The atmosphere was an intimate setting, yet perfect for small gatherings or happy hour. But the best part of this restaurant is undoubtedly their food. To eat: They begin the meal with fresh bread and give you a pumpkin soup to dip the bread in. They also give you a bowl of olives. For appetizers: -we shared the burrata and fig salad. You don't usually think of burrata when you think of Spain, but it was phenomenal here. The figs were fresh. -The spinach croquettas: possibly the best we had in spain. -The truffle pasta: PHENOMENAL. the best part of the meal. It came with an egg yolk that you crack and mix into the pasta, and it really added to the sauce and made it creamy. To drink: THE best espresso martinis we had in Spain! GO HERE!

HIGHLY Recommend by the locals. This Moroccan food was amazing. Nice ambiance. A small and cozy restaurant. Friendly and professional. Server spoke English. It's definitely a keeper. Got to try Ten con Ten when you're in Madrid. Bring cash to pay.

The Fish dish

The restaurant is beautiful with a touch of class without being stuffy. The food was great, it was pleasantly surprise to find that my Bull tail hamburger came without bread, it was delicious. The touch of offering a watermelon gazpacho was lovely and I could have just had large bowl of it. It was very refreshing and tasty. The salad with goat cheese was great.

I loved how eclectic the menu was, seemed like there was something for any craving. We enjoyed the tomato tartare, salmon, duck tacos and the chicken tikka masala. Traditional Spanish cuisine is wonderful but if you're looking for a change I think you'll love this place!

Hello my friends, I…read moreknow it has been quite some time, but I'm coming at you with a Dan Hanis certified all-time great restaurant right here. Absolutely everything on this menu is delightful. I don't think you can go wrong anywhere. As I began my journey abroad, I roamed the streets of Madrid, and I happened to run into 4 lovely ladies. Catalina, Teresa, Alejandra, and the craziest of them all, my girlfriend Elizabeth! Elizabeth and I hadn't talked for a couple weeks since I left the family farming business. She was infuriated when she received the news that I was walking away from my destiny. She just didn't know if she could love someone who wasn't a farmer anymore. As I took a break from my cellular device, we hadn't talked since I left. Running into her in Spain was quite the surprise. She told me that I was just truly the greatest man in the world and that she would love me farmer or not. On her quest to find me, she became friends with these lovely ladies. To celebrate life we decided to have a lavish meal at Bar Tomate! Enough with the backstory, this restaurant is one of my favorites I've been to in the continent that is Europe. Sometimes it can get messy having a diverse menu, but Bar Tomate handles it with such class. To begin the night, I ordered a delicious Whiskey Sour (it reminded me of the beautiful fields of grain back in my homeland of the USA!). For my appetizer I ordered the ceviche which was absolutely mouthwatering. Every time I think of it, I immediately start to drool, so I try to limit myself from thinking of this incredible dish. The fish, onion, and avocado are just so well balanced with the acidic taste of the juice (I love juice). This dish makes it into the Dan Hanis Dish Hall of Fame. I cannot recommend this enough. For my entree, I ordered the chicken tikka masala. By no means was it the best I've ever had, but it was a delicious eat nonetheless. For dessert, after we'd been at the restaurant eating and drinking for a total of four hours, we ordered the brownie sundae. Bar Tomate had such a wonderful atmosphere, and the employees were in no rush to get us out of the door. To this day, Bar Tomate, gave me one of my favorite dining experiences, and I'll forever be grateful to them for it. It was wonderful to eat amazing food and make new friends. I can't wait to tell you about the rest of my journey across Europe. God Bless America and God Bless Food! Your glorious food king, Dan Hanis

The decor leading up to the rooftop was absolutely stunning and like nothing I've ever seen. The dining area was intimate and nicely lit. Upon sitting, our servers immediately greeted my party. They explained the menu briefly. I will say that throughout my visit, I was checked on by my server, multiple times. It was not overwhelming, and they genuinely wanted to make sure I had the best experience. Based on our servers recommendation I ordered the aperitivos. Came with delicious warm bread and butter, tempura prawns, dumplings, egg rolls, salmon tartare and crab rangoons. Everything was delicious. I also ordered the burrata. I was blown away by each and every dish. As far as drinks, this restaurant has the most unique and delicious cocktail. I tried the Sayonara Baby, No me llames muñeca, Taparrabos de Adan y Eva, Al Agua Patos, Love Potion, and Maracas de Machin. All of the drinks were delicious, refreshing and insanely cute. You could easily tell there was a lot of care and details put into each drink. If you cannot tell by this review, the food is beyond delicious. This was a perfect evening with great service and great food.
