Tonight's performance with Ismo was fabulous! Met great people at my table and service was great. Kennedy was wonderful about modifying my entree and it was perfect. I asked for the NY steak rare and subbed in sides of salad and fries. The steak was perfectly seasoned and salted and prepared just right. My only regret is I had saved half my entree to go and forgot to take it with me when I first walked out. I went back for it 2 minutes after stepping out and I was too late. They had tossed it. Would love if they'd save the leftovers people set aside for 10-15 minutes in case we return, especially on a pricier entree. Still a five star night!

I've only been a few times but every comedy show I attended was funny. This recent trip was for "Chad goes deep". It was really entertaining and funny. My only dislike of the Improv is I really don't like their drink policy, takes a reasonable night out and jacks up the price. It's a 2 drink minimum per person and I know this isn't uncommon for comedy clubs. The drinks are expensive and just okay. But the shows I've attended have been fun so 4/5 overall.

Last night, I went to Improv Tempe for the first time to see comedian Jared Fried. Surprisingly, the venue is large yet intimate but what's always questionable about comedy clubs in general are the funky seating arrangements, the table setup--the chairs are so close to each other that it can feel like you're sitting on top of others while at your table. The ambiance is good all around, the staff are friendly, and the menu options are decent. I would suggest more non-alcoholic beverages options but their food options are good. The audience was engaging for the most part with the exception of some people that were VIP and happened to be seated in front of me. Two couples on a double date had such dry personalities and apparently forgot how to laugh. In some cases during the show, their lack of engagement and energy made the comedian sense a level of awkwardness, but he carried on his engagement well while others laughed in appreciation of his humor. At the end of the show, he welcomed fans to take photos with him, which I did. I caught the 7pm show which ended early enough to enjoy the rest of the evening exploring other establishments nearby. Overall, this is a great venue. You get a little of everything to make your visit enjoyable. The club is easy to find, parking is free but can fill up fast as there's other shops and a grocery store that share the same lot. If you're not familiar with Improv Tempe, definitely enjoy a night out seeing any comedian here. I'll be back again.

Tempe Improv Nice intimate venue to see a show and be as close as you want to the stage or performer. Stan Chen was one of the opening acts that is a local, he did a great job and was excellent to listen to. Wonderful local humor and great delivery. Jiaoying Summers was as good as expected, she starts off her show with her comedy side and then ends with her "what species are you?" So funny and if you want to be a part of her show and are Asian, sit toward the front, you will certainly be spoken to as part.of.her show. Ordered endless sodas that came out in a carffe, of course could not drink the entire thing. Pretzels were nice to have, good size warm and soft, go.for it French Fries also a nice appetizer to have with the pretzels Was a great evening of entertainment and laughter. Have fun

We returned to Tempe Improv to see Eric Eatons "Magic for Adults" show. We showed up about 30 minutes before show time & got seats that were very close to the stage, but we were off to the far right corner, so the view of the stage was not the greatest. The show was hilarious though & we had a wonderful time. This makes for an awesome date night. One thing I did not enjoy is that I was seated across from my husband, I would have preferred being next to him, so we could talk to one another a bit easier... We did not order food, but I got Sangria. One of the best Sangrias I have had, to be honest! I was very disappointed to hear that a single shot does not qualify for the "2 Drink Minimum". I feel that should be mentioned on the menu for guests, because if I had ordered the shot, assuming it counted, I would have been furious! I also think it's a bit ridiculous that you cannot order food in place of the drinks? As long as people are spending money on something, why should it matter???? We had a good time, and will be back in the future. I just hope that they will consider modifying their business structure in a way that makes a little bit more sense.

We had a great time seeing Joe Dombrowski! The service was good, the staff were really friendly, and the food and drinks were awesome.

The comedy show itself was very enjoyable, and the performers did a great job. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience and made me never want to come back. From the moment we sat down, we felt pressured to purchase the required two drinks. We hadn't even finished our first drink before our server came back and told us we had to order another one or we would be charged a service fee. Our server had an attitude from the beginning and was not friendly or welcoming at all. During the transition between comedians, I decided to take a picture of the improv sign on the stage while no one was performing. One of the employees came rushing over and told me I couldn't take pictures. I completely understand if that's the policy, but there was no reason to be so rude about it. Instead of explaining the rule respectfully, he immediately threatened to make us leave if we took another photo. To make matters worse, the drinks were overpriced and tasted terrible. Overall, while the comedians were entertaining, the poor customer service and overpriced drinks made for a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Wings. Take a close look friends, this plate will cost you $18....ugh fine, $17.95 (basically the same thing as $18)

If you're looking for a quick review - entertainment was amazing! Go for that but don't plan on going for the food and drinks. Overpriced, cold, and "meh". Oh you saucy devil...you want more! Ok ok...read in... Let's start with the obvious ...I searched far and wide to get an actual breakdown of what the "2 drink minimum" means. Because if you're going to make a 2 drink minimum policy, for gods sake, just be transparent about what fulfills that. I didn't find it anyplace (even asked that lil' AI fellow on their website). Let me share what I didn't know until I sat down at my table... *1 bottle of wine - fulfills the 2 drink minimum for 2 people *1 bucket of beers- fulfills the 2 drink minimum for 3 people *Everything else, ya gotta order 2. *No, a glass of water doesn't count but a bottle of water will (but come on, you knew that ) Personally, I think the drinks are pretty overpriced, especially if you're requiring me to get two. And before you come for me, the red wine I got is $11 a bottle in the store and they're charging $50. A soda is $8. A margarita is $18 (ugh. Ok it's $17.95 but let's be real, that's $18). It's clear....ya'll are serving some SERIOUSLY overpriced drinks. Food wise- eh. The fries were also overpriced and cold, BOTH sets that we ordered. The wings were decent. Again, not worth the price. Need a visual? Check out the menu prices for the restaurant right next door....compare them to this place's prices.... And I can say, the quality far exceeds at the restaurant next door. (Don't @ me with "oh but this is a comedy club"...I can tell man, the food and drinks are a joke.) If the prices could just drop the price a few bucks, it would be awesome. Like $11 for a margarita, maybe $8 for fries? I can promise you, my drunk a$$ would order more than 2 drinks and a round of fries for everyone. Oh! There's also a 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Overall, yea, you should go, it's a fun thing to do! But realize the food and beverage are pretending to be five star steakhouse when they're really a fast food joint owned by your weird uncle Sal.

Ask the Community - Tempe Improv

Is it cold at the location?

No. It was very comfortable inside when I visited.

Is a Covid vaccination card required to enter?

No, it is not.

So 2 drinks minimum per person attending? If there were three of us it's a 6 drink minimum?

Yup. That's the math. Drinks can be soft drinks if that helps.

Are 18 year olds allowed?

Yes. It has been my experience that people 18-21 can see the show. But they are sat at a table that no one is drinking alcoholic beverages. This is the way it was years ago. I would call and double check because management has changed.

It is an indoor multipurpose arena with 5,000 seats and is home to ASU men's ice hockey, women's ice hockey, women's volleyball, and men's wrestling as well as the NBA G League's Valley Suns. Mullett Arena also was a temporary venue for the NHL Arizona Coyotes for several years. I actually stopped by Mullett Arena today for some ASU graduation festivities. It was the Sun Devil Athletics Stole Ceremony. From the comfortable seating and concourse around the inside of the arena, this arena was laid out well and served as a great event space. Some other events taking place over the next few months include the Arizona Juggernauts arena football games, the Stifel Stars on Ice, and the Riot Games LCS Spring Finals (two days). and the World Hip Hop Dance Championship. Clearly, the space can be used for a lot of different purposes. The Mountain America Community Iceplex at ASU is the ice rink on the west side of Mullett Arena. It has a concession stand for hot and cold refreshments and a full hockey pro shop. Temporary locker rooms were also setup for visiting teams when the Coyotes played there. The building also housed all of the on-site NHL training and locker room facilities during the Coyotes' temporary stay at the Mullett Arena. The arena is a great place to be for many different sorts of events, and it's still a rather new complex! I certainly recommend it.

Laughing that hard was seriously therapeutic! We bought sodas and popcorn at the front. The popcorn was tasty. So, if you've got kids, skip Friday night and go on a Saturday when two teams try to "out improv" each other. That's what we plan to do. Fingers crossed it'll be a better show.

The theatrics, horses, jousting, costumes, and overall atmosphere made it such a fun experience. I even had a dark pink carnation thrown at me from the red knight which was a cute surprise. The food was okay but honestly you cant come here expecting a 5 star meal, you come for the entertainment and experience. We started with Texas toast and tomato soup followed by corn, half a potato, and chicken. Then we got cake and an eclair for dessert. We did get plastic forks for the cake but everything else you eat with your hands like a true medieval barbarian! Our server was phenomenal! You can also order and pay for other drinks/alcohol drinks before being seated and I got a strawberry slush with whip cream and it was delicious. Got a pretty souvenir cup too. And then you can order alcohol drinks at your seats ad well. I would personally choose this over the Renaissance faire. You can actually sit back and relax and get fed while you watch. The food was great, loved the show and we cheered for our knight so much we had sore throats. The service was great, server came by often delivering food, drink or asking if we needed anything. There is no bad seat in the arena so buy the cheap ticket just to have the experience. You show up to this huge castle and enter through giant doors. They have many working the front of the house so check in goes quickly and then we walked into the large area where you can buy drinks and various souvenirs for children or adults. We had assigned seats so it was very nice not having to rush in to find a seat and there is room between the row below you and above you so much that the server can walk between us. No head obstructs your view which is great for us shorter people. We were served drinks first, then bread and soup, next up was 1/2 a chicken that was moist and flavorful. Next came the corn and potato wedge that were also nicely flavored. Lastly was dessert and because we upgraded we got a second dessert of cake. If you are a light eater, they will give you a to go box. There is a wipe for your hands before you dig in eating with your hands and then a hot towel is brought after dinner. I would definitely recommend and go back again.
