Do not choose Telus! I'm having very slow internet connections for months, made several calls and only wasted several hours, after the most recent call, my speed test on Telus is only 89 mps! But it should be at least 400 to 500 mps on my gaming pc. Then I found out my 24 months plan has a very high early termination fee, internet + home phone + tv + home security which is only a door bell plus camera will add up to over 2000 dollars. Comes door knocking on a stat holiday when i an enjoying my day off at home. Rang my door bell once we ignored it thinking its amazon delivery. Wouldn't give up and rang my bell again for second time. Got me annoyed to answer the door to see whats the importance? Telus guy telling me they doing some upgrades and saying our Telus contract with promotion and expired trying to push me to sign and lock in for another 2 years. Got tired of them ruining my holiday and told them we don't like door knocking and we will check online ourselves and shut the door trying to resume peace in what i was doing before their interruption. Walked back upstairs and they rang my door bell Again! Third time after i rejected them. This time i was really annoyed and triggered. Opened the door and salesman desperately try to push his tablet front of my face trying to push the contract to meet his sales goal/ target. I did not care the delas and told them No! And leave! Never liked Telus after switching from Shaw; Telus has poor reception they had to drill our wall to add a second modem extension when installing. Still poor reception in our room on third floor, often no wifi reception with my phone or labtop; very choppy and laggy watching my youtube. Telus deserves as many minus stars as possible my daughter has been a customer from Telus since 2022 and literally has not been able to use her internet or her doorbell camera the entire time they constantly cut out and her internet is so slow she can barely watch a YouTube video, she literally had to get shaw internet to use instead because it was so expensive to get out of the contract that it was actually cheaper to just use another company. Then they tell her said that they were offering new fiber lines and the area that we live is capable of having it, which our neighbors 3 Doors Down does have and after sending the technician to our new home to install it, then they tell us that we can't have it that they're actually only there to install copper and that's the only thing they're an authorized to and that's the only thing that we qualify for here. But the technician tells us that he himself has installed the fiber optics 3 Doors Down and doesn't know why they're saying we can't have it here. So now im angry and i call to cancel, i sit on hold for 30 mins just for them to tell me that they never said we could get Fiber and we cant cancel any of the services that don't work and when I tey to get put on with a manager the customer service woman starts speaking very loudly and saying things that I dont understand or care, I just want to be put on to customer service manager and this lady just keeps talking and talking and talking and I am at one point yelling at her to stop talking to me I don't want to hear her please just transfer me to a manager I do not want to continue to speak to her which she continues to talk and talk and talk will not transfer the call will not hang up will not leave me alone finally I just say listen enough and I hang up the phone which she then proceeds to call me back at least four times before I answer the phone again and say listen I hope this is being recorded I do not want to talk to you stop calling me stop calling me back you do not have any answers for me you do not have a solution for my problem you will not transfer me to the manager please stop calling me which she then proceeds to call me twice more. it should be against the law that we have to deal with this nonsense and that we have no other options in Canada read more

I advise my family and friend to not go with Telus. My cable and home security have not been working for the past week and when the tech came he just fixed the wifi and called it quits. When asked why he simply said we need to book multiple appointments for the cable and home security even tho I was told by customer support that the tech would fix everything. The billing is out of hands as well I had a $130 extra in services that I have not added. Just a very bad experience overall. read more

They said no problem and they would fix. 4 calls later 4.5 hours still not resolved. Worst customer service ever. Tried the online chat and end up with a call back. Was supposed to be in 15 minutes but took 1/2 hour. Then spent an hour in and out of hold with a rep who could not help me so he transferred me to loyalty service (what a joke - no such thing as loyalty at Telus). Proceed to spend an hour on hold and then the women in loyalty services put me on hold a number of times. When she finally came back, said there was nothing they could do. It was irrelevant that my contact showed a channel that I was not getting because it was not longer available and no one was getting it. She said I was not paying for it but it was part of my contract so how could I not be paying for it? She was quite rude because she knew there was really nothing I could do until my contract was up. Ended the call and next thing I know I have an email with a revised contract removing one of my loyalty credits and charging me more!!! Now I'm on hold again to find out how they can get away with this. Do not use this company!!!! There has to be better options. read more

I was behind on my payments by one month, no big deal, I was keeping up with the overdue balance to keep my internet running. Some things happen and I am not able to pay so my internet is turned off. I pay the entire balance off on my next pay day, roughly $180. The next month I look at my bill expecting it to be $85 like normal, but no, they want $330. I contacted them and asked why it was so high and they just told me they are all valid charges and to pay them. I am certain that $85 for internet plus $45 for reconnection is not $330. been a long time customer with Telus mobility and just recently upgraded my phone in store. Talked to an advisor over the phone as to why I have to pay the $70 connection fee twice. she advised me that going in person they can charge me a connection fee for not only the phone itself, but they can also charge for the employee setting up the plan as well. she also mentioned that the connection fees should only be $15. So basically admitted that in store they can charge you whatever arbitrary amount they feel like. But if you set it up over the phone there's no extra charges. After I mentioned this makes no sense she said she could offer a $10 credit. When I said no she then offered $25, I said no to that as well and was offered $50. I said at that point you might as well just waive the entire $70. She "generously" made a one time exception and gave me a $70 credit. I have gone in store every time I've upgraded my phone for the last 6 years and have never had any problem like this. I'll be seriously reconsidering staying with Telus after my current plan has ended. read more

BRUTAL CUSTOMER SERVICE....It took me 30 minutes to just get the wrong agent after requesting a "call back" from a robot. 3 disconnects and re-requests later, I get a guy in Guatemala whose english is so bad, I had to phonetically spell Bermuda...as I was trying to add a calling plan. He couldn't help me because I am a business mobility phone person (be clear I logged in before requesting a call, so I SHOULD have been connected with someone who could help me. I've been on hold now for 65 minutes waiting for the "business" people to pick up. These people are BRUTAL. The future is no longer friendly. It's worse and more expensive. Been on the phone with them for two days now trying to fix a technical issue. Apparently it was fixed by the technicians in the Philippines, but then they sent me over to a sales agent (Michael) in Burnaby. Right away he wanted to tell me about the terrific options they had, but I wanted him to get the problem fixed. My voice mail and call display disappeared about a week ago, and when I tried to set it up again, starting with *98, I get "Your call cannot be completed as dialed." The sales rep told me he could restore either voice mail OR call display, but not both. To get both, I'd have to change to another plan, which would cost more. In other words, to have things the way they already were, telus would charge me more. Tell me how that makes sense. DO NOT GO WITH TELUS. Our wifi randomly stops working, it takes at least three days for them to fix it. Absolutely no compensation even though we've had multiple issues now. Customer service is literal hell to navigate through. I genuinely think this is the worst service provider I have ever experienced. I am enraged at the multiple issues, especially because our household has timers set up for our pets for their feeders that rely on the wifi. I found out today that our wifi is again, not working, while I am out of town, and this means my kitty has not been fed all morning and will need to wait till my partner is off work late tonight. So I've been a Telus customer since '82 (agt) in august of 2024 i find out my account was fraud and i had paid over $2000 to Telus that was to be returned. Our security system has been inoperable since we changed internet service providers at the end of October 2023!! They kept saying a technician was coming and NO ONE has come. They are now denying we requested a technician and in the technicians notes it says we cancelled the appointment because "we were not ready" - no idea how we could have "not been ready" when we have someone here 24 hrs a day 7 days a week and they were supposed to come and work on the system not us provide anything to them. All the calls we made have "no record" and they said "no one pays for something that isn't working" so basically calling us a liar. They are now saying they will waive the portion of the bill I have not paid - I told them I refused to pay after October 2024 (almost a FULL year later) as obviously a technician was not coming no matter what "delays they encountered getting someone in the area". read more

I would leave less than a 1-star review if I could. Telus is the worst. I can't recall the last time I was billed for the correct amount. They use predatory sales tactics to have you switch over to their services, promise that these rates are locked in, and then when you get your service agreement online, all of their "special promotions" expire within the year with a new bill to be 10x the amount you were promised. As of December 2022, I called to complain, spent hours on the phone with their customer service (if you can get a hold of person), and then hung up to the promise that my service agreement would be adjusted until September 2023. JANUARY 2023, I receive my bill and surprise, I've been charged 3x what they agreed. This has been the situation ever since I switched over to them. A little back ground here, my wife and i are a corporate mobile plan, the service and communications we have received over the past few years on a scale from 1 to 10, i would give it a -5 (where 1- bad and 10 is great). Today was the end of the line, when we attempted to upgrade our phones and plan, could not get in touch with the Corp provider for Telus, so we decided to call Telus and cancel our participation in he corporate plan and revert back o a Consumer Plan, where can go into any store ha sells Iphones. We were bounced around on Telus, from small business to corporate and then to consumer dept for about six hours today, talk about passing the buck and/or they are terrible a servicing the customer, especially since we were speaking to customer service in he Philippines and each dept sated we need to speak to another..... can you say run-around. I have never experienced this much frustration before from a customer facing business. After the six hours and a huge dose of frustration, a digital voice over stated that I have exceeded my time on hold and disconnected .the line. Absolute worst. I have lost hours trying to get a phone line for my daughters apple watch. I do not yet want her to have a phone, but would still like to reach her.
