I am not a gadget or electronics person so I feel like a fish out of water here. Service was dismal too. It was tough to find a staff member for assistance. I went back to the entrance where there were two SAs there. One checked the system to see if the item I wanted was there. He told me it was out of stock though the website showed it was in store. I asked about other colors or similar products and he was unable to help. Good thing I walked back to the computer accessories area and managed to ask another SA on where the Logitech products are. And I saw the mouse I initially wanted was in stock. Just not the color. In the end I managed to get what I wanted. I also realized service could be slow because customers like to talk gadgets and stuff with the staff. So it will take more time than usual to serve the next customer. Not a place I will go often. Went to Best Buy, Square Station, Burnaby to cancel my protection plan today, June 3, 2025 and done at around 1:40pm. They was misleading me to buy plan in Nov 2024 and I felt I was forced to do so by the staff. That's my feeling of the situation. I have the right to feel that way... The staff (girl) asked the younger staff (boy) to tell me I could cancel anytime. Great! I tried. But I don't need the plan anymore. Today, June 3, 2025, the staff told me I HAD to pay extra fee for cancellation. The first 2 staff was very helpful though they had to ask their store manager, MUNESH, to make decision. MUNESH decided the store would split the extra fee with me. I was fine with this though I was not happy nobody told me when I got the plan. I felt SCAMMED and SHOCKED to hear about the extra fee for cancellation. Then, I would like to let MUNESH, the manager, know their staff last year was misleading me and I felt I was forced to buy and felt like a SCAM. I kindly requested him to have a customer service training for the staff to let the customers know properly the consequence of cancellation especially it's associated with extra fee. My tone was normal like just chatting, meaning it good for them. Wow.. MUNESH said, " our staff won't force you and they have no commission..." while he was walking away from me... Without eye contact after, walked walked walked further away to another corner of the store. I believe he felt offended of not taking customers' feedback for improvement. Right? I purchased a laptop online and it didn't work so I call the customer service and did everything on the app and was told I'm all set all I need to do is to return the laptop to a nearby store. We decided to avail of a phone plan during Black Friday and Boxing Day at Best Buy Station Square over other stores with big reasons due to the protection plan package their employees lured us in of getting. That small act gave them the advantage. And the so-called protection plan comes with free screen protector, was claimed to be CANCELLABLE and REFUNDABLE within 30 days. No fine print whatsoever. Just trusted their verbal false claims. However, in between those two sale period, is when the fraud happens. By the time we already availed of the second plan during Boxing Day and re-availing their fraudulent protection plan, we tried cancelling the first one expecting a refund. They outright denied it claiming we have to pay at least the first month before we could cancel the plan. When my wife and daughter returned the second time, they were then told to return the free screen protector if we wish to refund. On top of that, they were SO RUDE to my wife and daughter that they left the store feeling humiliated. The third time, I went with them, they claim the same bullshit and this time, when I told them that we would be returning both phones we availed (coz that small fraud act made a huge difference in our decision to get phones from them), they refused and said it's beyond 30 days. They failed to produce a clear fine print and uses the T&C only to their advantage but refused to listen to our explanations. The worse part is that they kept asserting their power within the store like they're the boss or something. Every time I tried to speak, they would show me a rude hand gesture and say "Please don't interrupt!" or "Please let me finish" as if we don't have the right to correct them. These so-called store managers are Muresh, Gagan, and Nikta whom simultaneously ganging up on us ruling out proper customer service. Many times during our conversations on two occasions, they kept saying "Well, I'm the manager and I can do this and that" when challenged how they would deal with misleading information and other customer related concern. They even asked security to stand beside us just because we refused to leave and wanting a better accountability from them. There were two customers in front of me who had been discussing with the staff for some time and there was no indication when my turn would come. Then Jason came to my rescue and took me to one of the computers in the cashier desk and took care of the business. This is my second amazing experience at this location. Last time I was at apple and the worker was amazing. This time we were there to buy a couple major appliances and we were greeted by Fran- an excellent advisor. She made us feel appreciated, listened to, and valued as a customer. She laid out all price options, brand options, and the differences in all categories. Never once did I feel pressured to buy, instead I was motivated to come back specifically looking for her. Jose another appliance advisor also helped assist in explaining some more in depth knowledge when we were having trouble deciding what combo of appliances to install. He took time to ask us questions to best match us with which appliances were best for our lifestyle / needs. Such great team work in customer service from them both. We came twice bombarding them with questions and every time they didn't hesitate to talk to us nor did they rush our time with them both. I was extremely happy after my last shopping visit to this location where it was a complete shopping experience where I left a little lighter in my wallet, but valued in many ways from the interaction and the final purchase that was made. I came in here on Saturday, thinking they were closing at 9 (really it was 10PM) and was planning to buy a tv. It is pretty quiet at this location and there were a few sales people that were at the middle of the television department, and when I approached them, this sales representative named Matt helped me out with all my needs. He was able to describe the product to me, the features, advantages, able to locate the product in their stockroom, and didn't push anything on me for an extra sale. I still purchased the extended warranty, 4 years, as he knocked the price down to match the 3 year warranty price. Also I saw a competitors sale on the same item, and he was able to discount the tv I was buying, made it no hassle one bit. He explained each step clearly, from even apologizing on the wait time for the systems to update due to adjusting the price of the item, to the wait time of finding the tv in the stockroom. I felt no pressure buying anything, and he was very upfront with everything. He was very engaging, and talked to me right to the point of helping me put the big purchase in the car. Service definitely does go both ways, and he even said it, and I don't know when I had this much fun shopping, but I commend Matt for making the whole experience just fun, and hoping that anyone who shops for a tv, goes and sees him to get it done. Never rushed through the purchase, very thorough through the transaction, the price matching, the warranty (my questions on all the coverages), opening the box and looking for any flaws in the tv, cracks, etc. (as he said, the sales person should be the one in the end looking at the tv, as they would know more than anyone else what to look for!) and taking the tv all the way down the elevator and into my car (which barely fit, but luckily it did!). Next time I purchase a tv (going to be a long time.. ) I hope I get this kind of experience, but for all you guys looking, come here. Matt knows his stuff, and is willing to go the extra mile to find it, as he even searched the computer for a brand new one for me, but in the end I chose to deal with him. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of customer service at this location. I came here around 1pm so there wasn't much people. I was trying to buy some banana plugs for my HIFI equipment so naturally I went to the home entertainment section. I spent over 30 minutes attempting to locate the item while also having a laugh at the $150 receivers that they we offering. It was fairly hard trying to find someone for help so I just wandered around. I finally found the item on the opposite side of the store. They are Frightening Horrible Customer Service, Appreciation and treatment, they tried to charge me 1800$+ twice because they lied and said the system was down in middle of transaction when the debit machine said Approved and they said it was declined, and tried to get us to pay twice and she made that mistake cus she asked us and pushed us 5 x times to get us to pay for for a warranty when we said no 5 times.. and they said it didn't charge us but then my Dad phoned his bank and they confirmed Best Buy charged us. We eventually got our money back by going through a horrible hastle of getting paperwork from my bank that said the transaction was approved and that they owe us and gave us a refund eventually after going through this Nightmare. Not sure why so many people have problems with big box stores - Best Buy actually does a pretty decent job. Parking is available underneath in the parking lot, but it's not free at all. Not even for paying customers. May I suggest the side streets behind the store. This would be my 1 complaint. (hence 3 stars out of 4) Parking validation with a purchase over $10 or something would be reasonable. My experience is actually with the online site, with this store as the pickup location. After the website returned an error and I accidentally ordered my item twice as a result, someone from the store actually called me within 5 minutes to see if I really wanted 2 items. I was pleasantly surprised. Special mention for the prompt follow-up. With my order corrected, I walked in. There is a dedicated lineup for online orders. It was pretty straightforward. I had my item within 3 minutes. Quick and painless. The rest of the store is quite typical, with everything sorted into coherent sections. My one complaint was that the store seemed understaffed - I was going to buy something else, but changed my mind after being unable to locate someone for 10 minutes. read more

TL;DR - If you need same day delivery of tech product look at Walmart via Uber Cornershop. ($4.80 delivery).... if not use Amazon.ca next day shipping. Best Buy has ZERO customer service, no point of contact, antiquated big box store that's not local. No common sense and no customer service. Horrible experience of shopping at Best Buy Online and very likely my last time ever shopping with Best Buy. You're better off ordering from Amazon or the myriads of options for tech products these days. Very antiquated to have a big box store that doesn't adapt to the situation (COVID19). I needed a replacement keyboard and so ordered Bestbuy online as a (former) go-to when I need to pick up some tech products (BestBuy was synonymous with tech and the selection on Amazon is too many to choose from, with different vendors, so I would typically prefer something in a local retail store I can get quickly - but will look at alternatives to bestbuy from now on); I thought it would be an easy solution, as I did this previously with Best Buy South Vancouver (but thought to order with Station Square this time as it was slightly nearer). I ordered pick up and prepaid. And would get a Uber package delivery to pick up the item and deliver it... it's a keyboard! (Due to COVID19 and as I was having a sore throat, I didn't want to leave the condo and was mostly doing contactless pickup) So I ordered the keyboard the night before, it was only $29.99. The next day when it was confirmed ready for pick up - I tried to give them a call and called the store to let them know that I would be having someone else pick it up. Thing is, YOU CANNOT CONTACT THE STORE. Once you call the phone number, it brings you to an automated message and then hangs up. It's harder to get in contact with your local retailer than Amazon support. What kind of local retail store doesn't have a phone number with someone you can get in contact with? Still, I did the same thing (pre-order for Uber pick up of a Keyboard) with Best Buy South Vancouver previously and so I thought it wouldn't be an issue. (The South Vancouver Store, you could actually get in touch with. They also called the phone number on the order to confirm that I wanted a Uber Pick Up... that would have been the courteous and rational thing to do. It's a keyboard, not a laptop or other high value item.) So I went ahead and I ordered a courier and thought it wouldn't be a hassle... I even sent them by UBC card photo as added proof (the 2nd time when ordering the 2nd courier). However, was told the attendant was insistent only I could pick it up myself. I tried to call the store again and got the same automated message. So I called customer support phone number for BestBuy and requested a call back which was told would take 1-2 hours... I never got a phone call that day. Only three days later I had a phone call from Best Buy. Thought maybe I'd try with another courier to the same outcome. I ended up spending half as much on trying to get two courier to deliver the item than the keyboard itself. ($20 on failed courier attempts, for a $29.99 keyboard. I'd understand if it was a laptop, but it was one freaking keyboard.) The worst being that you cannot get in contact with a store and they didn't call me to confirm as the Best Buy South Vancouver did. Huge hassle, huge waste of time. NEVER shopping at Best Buy again with the amount of alternatives available. Why would you shop somewhere you cannot get in contact with? I ended up using Uber CornerShop to order a keyboard from Walmart... after wasting almost a whole day trying to sort this out. That was hassle-free and effortless. $24.99 Logitech keyboard & mouse combo with $5 delivery fee and $5 tip. I'd recommend if you need to buy any tech product, look elsewhere than BestBuy. ZERO customer service. You can't even get in contact with the store. Amazon is probably faster but I don't like that Amazon has 3rd party sellers which you don't know the consistency of. If you need something with same day delivery, CornerShop by Uber is a good option. (If I had known about Uber Cornershop, it would have saved so much hassle. They have quite a few tech products from Walmart on a flat rate delivery of $4.80. It's available through your UberEats App under Grocery.) Choose that instead if you need something delivered same-day, and save yourself the hassle. If you're not in a hurry then go online, like Amazon or Walmart. read more

Instead of what could have been a Sunday afternoon spent trying out the new laptop became 4 hours of stress spent going to a nearby BestBuy, getting passed around and waited for various Best Buy greeters, customer service agents and managers, repeating my situations again and again, and to finally get the wrong product returned. Don't trust their "online pick-up" counter employees. When I arrived to pick-up my online order, the best buy employee brought out a damaged item, hid the damage from me, and placed the product in a bag, purposefully being deceitful. By the time I got home, and removed the item from the bag, I noticed the item box had a gigantic hole in it. Almost as if a spear went through the box. Either they dropped something extremely sharp and heavy on the box to make the hole, or someone cut into the box and removed the hardware from the box. Very disappointed. Wasting my time and gas. Terrible service, the tv we had on reserve was brought out missing a factory placed zip tie. The cashier was rather nonchalant about it and just said 'ah, it probably just came off when they were grabbing it from the warehouse'. As soon as the gentleman was trying to load it on the cart, it was slipping out on that end. Ever heard of packing tape? With my suggestion if it. It was then plopped into our car, however, as soon as we got home to start mounting the tv. Hello nice 8 inch more long scratch/crack in the middle of the tv. 15 calls later and this location was not picking up the phone, upon phoning other locations, they refused to assist us with an exchange since now the Station Square one was out of stock. So much time, gas and money was wasted for this lack of service that they provide to resolve this situation. We just want a tv that isn't cracked. The sales rep - Wisam - took me through the whole Geek Squad spiel and kept trying to have me sign documents WITHOUT explaining them first. When I went to pick up my laptop the next day after they finished setting it up, I got home and realized the employee set a password for me and didn't even write it down anywhere. I phoned the store and no one answered, so I had to drive back there to have them unlock my laptop. Additionally, I was NOT once showed the Terms and Conditions for the Geek Squad protection plan they were trying to sell. Sales rep said I only had to commit for the first 3 months and then could cancel at no additional cost. He even said they would send me an email to check if I wanted to continue with the plan or cancel after 3 months. Three months have passed, and I never received an email so I phoned Geek Squad. The employee at the call centre told me according to the Terms and Conditions of the plan (again, which was NEVER showed to me during the buying process), I had to commit for 1 year and would be charged $90 if I cancelled now. TERRIBLE experience with Geek Squad. The new phone (LG G4) I got had problems so I had to send it in for replacement, and the second "new" one they send, also had small problems. I dropped the phone once and had some damage on the corner, but it was still working, and then a month later the phone just died completely for no reason. I sent it in for replacement, and they charged me $100 because of "physical damage" to the phone. So now they are going to refurbish that and send it to someone else. I was at the Richmond location prior to being here. On their website it showed that the Richmond location had in stock a dashcam i was looking for. I drove out from downtown Vancouver to pick it up and to my surprise they had zero in stock. Salesman said that perhaps the inventory had not been refreshed to show that they didn't have any more in store. Ok, so I check online to see if Metrotown location has any in store, it shows it does so I make my way over there. I get there and they are pretty busy there, I make my way over to the dashcam aisle and they don't have anymore on the shelves. I'm at a loss now and am just plain dejected. A salesman can see I'm in need of some assistance and he comes by and ask me if he could be of any service, I ask if they have any more of this specific dashcam in the back as I do not see any out here on the shelves. He does a once over on the shelves to see if I had possibly missed it and when it's clear there isn't any there he lets me know he will check in the back. He comes back a few minutes later and informs me there isn't any in the back. I told him I just came from their Richmond location after checking online to see that they had some in stock and to find out there wasn't anything there and did the same with this Metrotown location and now the same conclusion. He apologized and said they probably haven't been updated to reflect the days sales. He asked if I wanted to have it ordered in, would take about a week. I asked if I would still get the sale price and he did one better than that. What sets businesses apart from one another is the level of customer service. Nothing wrong with buying things online but I like the interaction aspect when buying things. This salesperson went above and beyond and I would like him to get the recognition he deserves. I have been waiting for a chance to make a purchase on a new cell phone. So I walked into Best Buy (because they had a good promo for buying the phone from them) with the decision made already that I would be buying one -- literally had money ready to pay kind of buying. Here is my play-by-play experience: Best Buy Mobile Sales Associate: Hi, how can we help you? Me: Hi, I would like to purchase a [enter cell phone name/brand here]. The two Asian Best Buy Sales Associate guys sitting at the counter stared at me, blinking. Silence elapsed for at least 30-40 seconds. Me: So where do we start? How can we get this process going? Best Buy Mobile Sales Associate: Oh, we've sold out on the phone...you're going to have to come back sometime next week. Duhhh... So guess where Best Buy lost their stars in this review? Customer service -- does it really take that long to process my blunt and explicit statement that I want to buy the phone? I must admit, this is the second time I have experienced customer service hiccup at Best Buy (funny enough, regarding the same cell phone I have been trying to get for the past month) -- Summary of that experience: The Best Buy website stated/advertised that they were accepting pre-orders for the phone in-stores only. I go into a Best Buy store, and the sales associate AND the manager had no idea what I was talking about. Seriously, I just wanted to buy one phone, get the phone, pay for it and leave -- this should not take as much effort and time as anyone would in planning for a wedding or a strategic market positioning of a product. read more

I personally was not impressed with this Best Buy. I was never asked if I needed help, which I did. And when I wasn't asked I went searching for an employee and couldn't find one anywhere around me! Also, I can't stand these large chains when they don't have the decency to supply parking for their customers! I'm about to spend a lot of money, the last thing I want to worry about is finding change to pay for metered parking because it didn't accept credit cards or use the parking app! I had been looking for a new monitor and keyboard for quite some time now. I recently found the ones that I wanted on the bestbuy website. Came here in the middle of the day and it wasn't busy...actually my sister and I were quite surprised how slow it was. I found the items that I needed and pretty much stood there as there were no salespeople to help with my purchase. It was quite frustrating when I am ready to buy and still had to run around the store like i am begging for them to take my money. This reminded me why I had stopped coming here for so long. Terrible experience! We got there to buy a tv set. We had chosen the model and size earlier, just were gonna take it and pay. No body take care of us at tv section despite they saw we were waiting there!!! Just looking at your eyes and ignoring you or pretending being busy!!! We asked a guy in tv section to help us by the model we wanted, he just left us without saying to wait or what to do. After being waited for like 10 minutes without any responses we got back to entrance and told a lady who was standing there to help customers, to get a help. She paged someone and told us there is now somebody waiting for you at tv section. When we get back there, we found another guy who pretended not seeing us again as he did when we first had met him. We got mad and just left the store. They are supposed to be more responsible especially during Black Friday time. Time we got there was Sunday evening 7:00 pm, November 22nd, 2020. read more

I've shopped with the Best Buy company for years and never before have I experienced such poor attentiveness towards customers. I went into the store looking to buy a 3DS. There was no apparent staff member in the gaming department who could help. When I saw a staff member, I asked if she could help me. She said she couldn't open the case for the 3DS because it's not her department and she didn't have a key. But she happily said she could get someone who could. I ended up waiting about 10min for someone to come but no one came. Meanwhile I could hear staff members giggling and chatting in an area behind the customer service desk. I doubt they were on break since that area didn't look like a break room or a place for staff to take their breaks. It's wasn't until another customer, who was looking for the same item, asked for help did someone finally come. I was also looking for a game but it wasn't on the shelf so when I asked the staff member if they had it in stock, she said they do but it's lock in the back because it's a newer title. I understand security reasons behind keeping it locked but the fact there was no display or indication that they have the game was odd. The selection (games and accessories) for handheld game systems was also small compared to the section for the large console systems. Anyway for this location, poor attention given to customers, don't expect any sort of help right away. Clearly this location needs better management in terms of organizing sales staff and keeping them on top of things. Side note. parking is validated (with a min. $5 purchase) if you park in the underground lot. Just show your parking receipt. There are also some metered spots on the side streets. Or you could park in the metro town mall lot and walk across the street. read more

DO NOT BUY ANY PROTECTION PLANS FROM GEEK SQUAD NOR DEAL WITH BEST BUY AT ALL YOU WILL REGRET IT! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! We bought two brand new computers for our business and protection plans from 2016. Long story short, the computers were running slow so we called geek-squad to tend to the situation, they however remotely signed in did a clean up & erased our hard drive with all our important information/ invoices for our customers! The amount of BS run around by the customer service center, managers & in store Geek Squad was RIDICULOUS! THEY LOST EVERYTHING! We had to bring the computer to the store to try and have the files recovered (twice), with no outcome! Oh and to top it all of, we told them to cancel back in 2016 and to find out that they were still charging our CC every month till now. Then to call again and speak to someone they say " there is no record of any cancellation" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? NO RECORD? BS!!! NEVER AGAIN. BUYER BEWARE! read more

Went inside hoping to buy a few items (pretty big ticket stuff, too) but couldn't get any assistance. I mean, the sales staff were zipping around, difficult to chase any one of them down. One guy was on his cell in a side corridor. I talked to the concierge at the front, told him I needed somebody at the department I was waiting in, and he radioed for an associate. Went back to the dept, and nobody ever showed up. Definitely not a good bit of customer service. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt (in case it was an atypical day) but I eventually walked out and went to various stores in Metrotown to get what I came in to get at Best Buy. read more

June 13, 2020 Saturday @5pm evening, a male and female caucasian and one Asian guy poped up before me where I was lining up for 15 minutes, I requested caucasian to line behind me because I was on line for 15 minutes but the best buy associate did not respond to my request and more over she has let these caucasian go in first. This is very bad and unfair to me that she had to instruct that caucasian who violated line popping up infront me lining up for 15 minutes and even that caucasian did not bother my request to respect line up. read more
