They might have the "best prices" and be helpful when you're in store, but their phone customer service is absolutely terrible. I was told over the phone that the car deck I wanted plus installation would be about $250+tax ($73 for install, $52 for parts, $98 for the deck)... when I got the bill, it came to $300 (tax included) - and the tax wasn't the $50 difference. Installation was $95, parts were $80, and they bumped the deck to $85 but pushed the 2 year warranty on me for $15. But I didn't question it, paid for it and made an appointment for 2 weeks ahead since that was their first available time. Then I called some other stores to see if they had earlier appointments available. Burnaby said they did, but I had to talk to the Surrey location where I made the purchase so that they could talk to the Burnaby installer and confirm the appointment. So I called Surrey to do just that, but they weren't able to get ahold of the Burnaby installer for a couple of days since it was the installer's days off. So I waited. I didn't get a call from Surrey when they said I would, so I called Surrey, no answer forever, so I called Burnaby - took me a bunch of time and hassle to finally talk to someone in car audio, to be told they had an issue with the bay doors and the installer was being sent to other stores. He said he'd check the installer's schedule and see if they could get me in at another location. I never heard back, and decided not to waste my time trying to get in earlier, as by then my original install date wasn't far off. Now I'm trying to contact the original Surrey location to confirm I still have that appointment, and was on hold for 45 minutes before I just got disconnected. Just to ask to confirm an appointment. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous over the phone. I keep getting told how busy they are, but if they're that busy all the time then maybe they should have more staff to actually help customers, instead of pissing them off. read more

Away from the business of Metrotown, and if your looking to have a variety of tv's, I must say to come to this place to look first, as they definately have selection. Usually when one thinks electronics, usually you would go to the big names (Bestbuy, Futureshop). I will say that the one thing these people do good is tv's! As the store here is just, wall to wall, LCD to LED sets everywhere. The staff is pretty knowledgeable in regards to this technology too. They will give you the comparisons to another tv, probably because they have that model in the store as well. It's too bad they cannot compete in other electronic areas like computers, video games, cameras, and other things not related to the tv, but it's definately worth a look around if your in the market shopping for the next big screen for your room. read more

i am extremely impressed by the customer service I received from the Visions store in Burnaby near Kingsway and Imperial on September 18, 2022. I called ahead to see if the chest freezer I wanted was in stock. Gurleen, the cashier who answered the phone, checked the computer for stock. She said that it was in stock but wait, she will make sure and check it physically. Wow! When I got there, Manny was extremely helpful with the sale. Then, Ian from the back, helped me put the freezer into the car. He was so careful, treating the freezer like a precious cargo. I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, after unboxing the freezer at home, I found a dent at the bottom and no matter how I tried to adjust the legs, couldn't get the freezer to balance correctly. I bought a T.V. from Visions in South Van a year or two ago so I thought the Burnaby location would be good too. I went to this Burnaby location and I bought a Polk 5500 soundbar from them as a boxing day deal... it was good for 2 days then the subwoofer broke and had a popping sound. (After reading the reviews, it looks like lots of people have horrible issues of buying broken sound systems here) When I bought it, I asked them "What's your refund policy?" they simply replied "You can refund it within 15 days". I brought it back after a week and a bit and they refused to give me a complete refund, and only gave me 85%. They know that those products are broken and continue to sell them, knowing that they'll at least make 15%. Such a bad experience, they lost a customer for sure and will be warning others not to go here. read more

Anyway, they had one in stock. It's was a Sony. According to him, the best out there. I know enough to know that this is far from the best product out there. And here's what impressed me the most, asked me if I was going to make a purchase today. Why? He was gonna get me the best price. ;) That's the sign, folks. During my experience with Visions I was misinformed and mislead into buying incompatible product, subjected to repeated misdirection and deceit when trying to sort out my warranty claim, and treated with complete apathy by the sales staff of Visions Electronics. I'll leave discussion about pricing out as I'm fortunate to be able to get discounts through work (they are very competitive though and would probably match Best Buy or FS prices if given the option) They are interested in making sure that you're a happy customer, but they are salesmen and will try to upsell you. Protip: Pick the staff member that seems the most confident, I got a bit unlucky last time I went in getting a more junior staff member that had to keep asking a manager to unlock computer machines They also mount TVs for a flat $150 rate. It seems expensive but it is guaranteed and cheaper than Best Buy. Their extended service plans are 'refundable' in that if you don't use them for a TV they can be used for store credit when their lifetime runs out. read more

I was in the research stage, not the buying stage. I remember walking in, and immediately I thought to myself.... "It feels very 'salesy' in here" After talking with someone and getting the information I needed. I wanted to leave.... Before I knew it, I had the sales manager out. They were putting the product in my hands. Slashing this price, throwing this in.... Every sleazy sales trick in the book was used on me. All I wanted was to get out of there. I have been a customer since the days of Multi-Tech (Visions predecessor) but found out the hard way that their after sale service (e.g. scam Rewards member extra year of warranty) is a total fraud at best. There are so many options to buy electronics, I don't see why anyone should risk buying anything from Visions. No more for me after 40 years of buying stuff from them. What is even worst, they would not even send email or deny my warranty claim in writing so I can claim with my credit's extended warranty. I went back today and got my money back. I've called to see if they got the Playbook delivered and was told they didn't get the shipment yet. Seeing how they get shipments every Thursday I wasn't sure that I wanted to wait and I went to The Source website just to see if The Source would have one - they did! I went to Vision's store that I bought it from and their salesman (same one that I bought the Playbook on B/O) started telling me how they had it in stock and how they tried reaching me to tell me; basically BS. At that point he even offered $10 discount. I didn't take it out of principle, although I could've returned the other Playbook to The Source. All of it did leave a bitter taste in my mouth. The fact that he tried to tell me how they called me up just ruined the whole experience even more. read more

Stay clear of this place! I bought a Kenwood car stereo at Visions, 8062 King George Blvd in Surrey about 6 months ago and had it installed by them. I called their car audio dept about 3 months later telling them the radio skips and has terrible reception on all stations. They told me to come in with the vehicle so they could look at it. I asked if I need an appointment and they said no. I drove from my home in Burnaby a few days later (30 mins each way) only to be told I need an appointment. So, I made an appointment and came back. They asked me to leave the vehicle and called me 4 hours later to come pick it up. They told me they couldn't find anything wrong with the stereo and it was very likely my car battery. They told me they have a close relationship with Edmonds Battery a little further south on King George. I drove straight to Edmonds Battery thinking they would test my battery and tell me it was good, since it is only 2 years old, and I could go back to Visions to force them to take care of the stereo issue. Much to my surprise, Edmonds Battery told me my battery is very low and I need a new battery. They quoted me $150 installed. I then took my vehicle to the shop where I bought it in Burnaby and they tested it and told me its perfectly fine. I called Visions car audio and told them there is nothing wrong with my battery and I didn't appreciate them sending me somewhere that misled me about it. Visions told me to come back in and they would install a new stereo, which I did. The radio issue continued so I called Visions and asked for the car audio manager, Rhythm. He asked me to send him recordings of the radio, which I did. After several phone calls with him and expressing my frustration at the service I've received, he told me they would install a new antenna for the radio free of charge. I made an appointment and came in only to be told by Rhythm that I had to pay for the antenna but they would not charge the installation fee. We argued for about 20 minutes because he told me the entire cost would be covered by Visions, which he was denying. He assured me the antenna would take care of the reception issue in the radio and he would waive he installation charge, so I finally agreed and paid for the antenna. It has not resolved the issue at all and I called Rhythm back the next day and told him I'd like to come in and have the antenna removed and get a refund for the cost. He said that's not a problem and he assured me he would call me back the next day to schedule an appointment. I heard back from him 3 days later and he told me they would not refund the cost of the antenna and there is nothing more they can do for me. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I rarely do reviews but the salesperson, Bitram Singh, really impressed me. I have never shopped at Visions before but went there as a relative has bought stuff there before. Bitram was very knowedgable, friendly, was patient answering my questions, did a good job of matching a tv and soundbar to our needs. Price was good and they had alot of stock to choose from. We really wanted the tv right away and this was a major factor in the decision to buy. Bitram said we would get it that evening and he kept his word even though his delivery guy was not available and he had to deliver it himself. Very impressive!!! NEVER GO HERE! They are scammers and just want your money. My boyfriend bought a computer from here spent over $1000. Task manager said that the disk was being used 100% all the time, only momentarily the computer would drop to below 90%. MSI had already given us the go ahead to send it back east for replacement, but unfortunately We were both too preoccupied with work to send it to the manufacturer back east, plus i knew that I had a extended warranty with Visions that would be more than enough to cover it and they werent too far out of the way. We went into visions to get them to fix the computer with our two year warranty. They told us that they would fix it and give it back in about 4-6 weeks. There were also 2 keys that were missing from the keyboard and we wanted them replaced. One was missing from when i purchased the computer. I was told several times from the beginning that they would order said missing key and email me when ready. The manager of the store also at the time offered my boyfriend a job and acted like he cared about our problem. When we got the computer back (about 9 weeks later) They said that they fixed everything and that the computer was running perfectly fine now. Within an hour or two of running it at home, reinstalling needed programs the disk was back at 100% constantly. it was running the exact same, nothing was fixed and it seemed like the only thing done was a reset and fresh copy of windows. After calling again and pushing for information on what was done to the computer. They stated they put in a new hard drive and that they stressed tested it for 2 hours. My boyfriends dad is a computer technician and recognized it as a failing hard drive. Now the real issue is we both work out of town, and are only in town for brief periods like weekends or the odd week day. So for us to make another trip over an hour out of the way to get problems fixed that were already supposed to be fixed and I paid to have fixed (If you dont use the warranty you get store credit) isn't something we can just do any old day, we are very limited and don't have time to be making multiple trips for the same problem. we called them again to tell them the problem wasnt fixed and that the computer has been sitting on a shelf unusable (cant even play runescape on lowest settings) for months since before the corona virus broke out. Now that the virus has shut everything down for the past few months, our extended two year warranty is now out and they have stated there is nothing they can do to help us or even are willing to do. We were told by there service center the two missing keys werent even mentioned. But on the work order report i demanded to get a copy of, it clearly states they had been told the two missing keys had nothing to do with them and they wouldnt ever be replacing them simply because the missing keys were not "approved" to be replaced. Even when the manager who offered my boyfriend a job said it would be no problem to get replaced. Just like we were told at the time of purchase it would be no problem. 10/10 if you want to learn how to scam apply here but don't ever think your going to get a good deal or customer service worth your money! Next step is head office. read more

Some of the products they sell are great but most seem to be factory rejects which reflects in the prices they offer them at. I've never purchased something from Visions that didn't need to be returned (for repair or exchange), not once! Even with the extended warranties they sell you, it's still a stressful run around. And Even armed with a warranty they sometimes will find a loop hole not to honour it. Brutal! Save your time, mental health and money, I would suggest buying electronics from a shop with a good, honourable warranty policy, even if it costs a bit more. read more

Recently took my car in to have the speakers in my car replaced. They never bothered to have a listen to the sound before telling me I needed to replace all the speakers. They asked me the make & model and then told me there were 4 speakers. So I purchased the 4 speakers they recommended and booked the installation. Apparently they're extremely busy so I had to wait 4 weeks to bring it in. The day came & I dropped the car off. They called me to pick it up after 7.5 hours. I picked it up right away. I was super excited to finally have decent sounding music and turned it on to find that that sounds was just as horrible as when I dropped it off. Turns out there is a fifth speaker (sub-woofer) that was also blown. They never bothered to call and tell me this. Money was not an issue as I'd already spent $1200 to fix the problem. Now I'm going to have to start the process all over with buying the speaker and waiting weeks for the installation. I'm very disappointed because I thought they were experts in car stereos. The salesman said I was talking to him like he was a slave. Wow. I asked them to update the system for me and said please 3 times. Every time he repeated "do you want me to update it?" I am trying to help you. We said yes. Now the manager is doing it. Aman got my phone to connect after a cold restart. Would have had them take it out- this was the last straw. I can tell you these guys aren't at all about customer service...i honestly don't even really want to give any time to writing a review because it's not worth wasting your time going in. I don't know if prices are any cheaper than best buy or not but it's sure a lot less organized in store. From the front desk girl on the phone to the car audio department to the manager they were all unknowledgeable and didn't seem to have straight what was going on in store. I called ahead before coming in for something with my car stereo and was told to bring the car down that afternoon. When I got there, after shuffling my schedule to have time, they said the whole car audio dept. Was out of town at a conference and we're gone all week...wth, the receptionist just told me to come in. So I talked to the dept. Head, who couldn't help me, and mid conversation the store manager interrupts, asks me to repeat what was happening and then walks away in the middle of the conversation without acknowledging or responding to me...in the end they didn't so anything to help me out or resolve the issue and I definitely will NOT be going back!!!! read more

Called King George location on 05/02/2015 to ask if they had optical wire for receivers. Female sales representative answered and put me on hold , after several minutes on hold she said yes they do have it in stock, I asked if they have it in length longer than 6 feet. I was put on hold again, this time for over 5 Minutes. I hung up and called again, she answered immediately (so obviously not overwhelmed with customers). I asked again if they have it in length over 6 feet. Was put on hold again for over 5 Minutes. By this time I had already reached store as I was driving there. I hung up and went inside. Went to front counter and she was standing there helping no customers. I asked if she had checked to see if they have it in the length I asked over the phone. She said she doesn't know but pointed in the direction of where the cables were shelved. They were literally immediately to her left, immediatly beside the cashiers desk. I walked over and found the box within 10 seconds and they did have it in length over 6 feet. I went to checkout desk and as I was checking out I witnessed her a.) Chatting with fellow Co-workers and b.) On her personal cellphone texting/typing. After I purchased my items I went to the manager who was on the floor actually helping customers. His name is Adam, I have dealt with him before. I told him what had happened and how I, as a customer, found it very inconsiderate and unprofessional of one of his staff members to be so unhelpful. He asked when I called, and told me she was busy when she called. I told him when I walked in she wasn't helping anyone and also she was talking and using her cell phone. He defended her once again and actually praised her. I told him he should be disciplining and not complimenting an employee who a customer has a legitimate Complaint against. He was not receptive so I left. I have told my family and friends never to shop there again and will be filing a formal complaint with head office. I bought a Polk sub woofer from them in December 2011. It stopped working so I brought it back for them to check. Sure enough, it wasn't working. I hadn't bought the extra warranty so they said I'd have to make arrangements with Polk to have it shipped back to the States for assessment and possible repair under warranty if Polk felt it was eligible. Or, I could just buy a new one. Might be less hassle the sales man opined. I said I'd phone Polk when I got home and figure it out. So the contact at Polk gave me a number of the Canadian rep who referred me to IT Electronics who does their repair work in Vancouver. I took it to IT and spoke with the manager there who told me they do tons of warranty work with Visions and as well do warranty work with just about every electronics manufacturer you could think of. I provided my original receipt and they said they would give me a call when it was ready. So, here is what I am upset about. IT Electronics is two blocks away from this Visions store. Visions knows that IT Electronics does manufacturers warranty work yet they didn't relay this information to me and provide a contact. They intimated that getting the warranty work done would be a big hassle and buying a new one would end up being cheaper and easier. They wasted my afternoon having to make a second trip out to Burnaby in mid day traffic. They were less concerned with helping a customer than they were in making another sale. Well, they didn't make the sale, nor will they ever be making another one with me! read more
