I have tried 3 or 4 times to demo equipment and they never are able to do same. They expect you to buy without hearing the merchandise. Must be nice to be that pretentious. Avoid at all cost and go anywhere else. Additionally they spec'd a sound bar that would not work as they configured. They are not up on there stuff at all. Clearly living in the past.

The plasma broke down and I went into the store to get some advice on where to get it repaired. The guy who I spoke with, who I assume was the owner, was rude and gave me the name of a repair shop with the worst rating in Vancouver, birds of a feather, flock together. The owner told me the set was garbage, no parts, Panasonic wouldn't help me out, buy this new $4500.00 set, blah, blah, blah. Turns out that I had an email from a higher up in Panasonic that offered to pay a good portion of the repairs. When I told him that, he shut right up. Turns out I got the set repaired for $250.00 and works like new. Him and his mouthy sidekick have zero customer service skills. I love it when these businesses think they are the only option in a certain area and they can control the market. Wrong! My wife and I are buying two new sets for our new place, we now know where we won't be buying them from.

I am the type of person who researches every electronics purchase meticulously and I have grown unbelievably tired of trying to chase down pimple-faced teenagers at Best Buy so they can pretend like they know what they're talking about. When some tool box asked me to plug in my ipod to test a pair of $3,000 Boston Acoustics speakers it was all I could do not to Hulk out on him. But that's another review I guess. After a month of reading I narrowed my search to a couple of systems, both manufactured by Definitive Technology. I was happy to find out that DefTec had a licensed Vancouver retailer in my area, so I was on my way to Sound Room. I was fortunate to be introduced to salesperson Claude (hope I'm spelling that right) who was incredibly friendly, honest, and about as low pressure as you can be in a retail position. Not only did he take the time to walk me through the different systems and break down all the differences in each speaker/receiver/sub, he handed me the remote and gave me free reign over the system. People reading this are probably thinking "congratulations, that's what a salesperson is supposed to do" and that may be true, but I'm not done. Claude was able to give me a very competitive price on each piece of equipment, even matching Amazon's would-be prices, which is outstanding for a Canadian electronics retailer. When I asked what my delivery options were, Claude actually offered to deliver the gear personally in his own vehicle after the store closed. I actually ended up riding home in his van with all of the gear, which he helped me dolly up to my apartment. I obviously can't guarantee that my experience is typical but I am certainly over the moon with the customer service I received and I will undoubtedly recommend The Sound Room to anyone shopping for home theater equipment.

This is like a higher end IKEA and it's the closest full service furniture store to Whistler, without driving allllllll the way to Vancouver. We've used The Brick for two major hauls, once to buy furniture for our bedroom and living room and then the second time to get pieces that were missing. I like it that you get everything that you need even electronics, and they deliver free of charge. In under an hour for both shopping trips we had a new bedroom set picked out, living room furniture, dinning room furniture, bathroom storage solutions, TVs and wall art. I hate driving around to multiple locations trying to get what you need to get your house together and this was just convenient. The sales rep Ahmad that helped us was very cool and wasn't one of those pushy sales people. I wish I remembered the name of the lady that helped us the second time around, she was awesome as well. Delivery happened on time/ hassle free and just like that we had peices of furniture to fill our house. Pro tip: ask to purchase the floor model (it's already assembled and may be discounted). We did that with a bar storage cabinet that was super cool looking but looked really hard to put together as well as a full length mirror/jewelry storage chest. #Squamish

Someone recommended this place to me and I was definitely not disappointed. It is a great local place to go to if you are a starting hobbyist looking for electronic parts or just someone who need parts for random things. The first time I went to the place it was packed with people from hobbyist, students studying electronics and needed parts to general people requiring parts for an elevator. The place is not big, but it is packed with a lot of things related to electronics. Staff is super nice and helpful in finding you the things you need. I like that they don't try to sell you what you don't need or make you buy a higher price item. If they can't find it, they can order. Price is a bit higher, but this is the place if you are not buying bulk order and don't want the hassle of shipping. There is side street parking which is free. They have a website that you can browse and shop items by categories. The website also has tutorial on starter and intermediate projects that the staff has done, which is cool! The only downside, would be that all sales are final. Saying this, I found the specific electronic parts I wanted and definitely will be back again!
