I'm giving my rating a 3/5 only due to the fact that I don't absolutely love the food here. It's convenient and fits the bill for a quick lunch downtown; however, I do believe their seasoning is worth the stop.

Don't get it twisted, the hours are still limited but I can see why. With the constant line they had from opening til I walked out, I am sure they don't have a lot left toward the end of lunch. The brisket was the example of tender and worth the upcharge. We got the dr.pepper sticky ribs and also worth the upcharge. Typing this makes me hungry again. The only thing was the sides were ok but we're here for bbq so that didn't lower my score.

"How good can strip mall BBQ be?" was my initial thought but the line of 10 people waiting to get in that early eased my thinking. To answer my own question, strip mall BBQ can apparently be great! I got a 2-meat plate with the brisket, Dr Pepper glazed sticky ribs, green chili corn casserole and smokey beans. As you are ordering the brisket they ask if you want it sliced or chopped, and if you want lean, fatty or burnt ends. I knew it would be good then. The lean brisket was solid, a little peppery on the bark. I'd have liked it to be a little smokier and the bark a little more flavorful but that's the only complaint you will get in this review. The Dr Pepper sticky ribs were phenomenal! Sweet, smokey dessert like meaty goodness. It was almost pornographic what I did to those bones. The smokey beans lived up to that name for sure and the green chili corn casserole was unique and delicious. This is a definitely a place I will repeat when I am back in Lafayette.

It's technically all you can eat. Each person gets one type of broth in their hot pot but you can order just about any veggie or protein on the menu except for a few seafood items like the king crab which is extra. The shaved lamb and crispy pork were our faves. I had the pork bone broth and my friend got the medium spicy butter broth. Both were good. I also got ramen noodles and a bunch of sauce from their buffet of sauce, kimchi, cilantro and green onions in the front. The bbq shrimp, sausage, and chicken were all delicious but those are sent out already cooked. No problem. Yes, they also serve booze! I believe it was pretty much wine and beer and a Japanese mimosa.

The pork chop was cooked perfectly. It was juicy, incredibly tender, and honestly tender enough to cut with a fork. It had a great char from the grill that added so much flavor, and the pickled peppers on top cut through the richness of the pork perfectly. The dirty rice underneath reminded me of my mom's rice dressing and soaked up all the juices from the chop. It was one of the best pork chop dishes I've had. My wife ordered the smoke fried chicken, and it was also excellent. The crust was crispy while the chicken stayed juicy and flavorful. The sweet potato biscuits were light and delicious, and the pepper honey tied everything together nicely. For my taste, it leaned just a little on the sweet side, but it was still a very enjoyable dish. My daughter ordered the Social Cheeseburger with just meat and cheese. She loved it, and I was impressed too. Even with such a simple order, the burger was juicy, well seasoned, and served on a fantastic bun. She and my wife both could not stop talking about the hand cut fries. They were crispy, perfectly seasoned, and some of the best fries we've had in a while. From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. We left very impressed and will definitely make a point to stop here whenever we are in the Lafayette area.

More specifically their flatbreads and loaded fries, which I do not currently see on their website. Most of the time they have loaded fries which in the past have consisted of gravies and sauces. As far as main dishes go we have tried the following: All Hail Caesar (Flatbread) Spicy Chicken Sandwich Smoke Fried Chicken-N-Biscuits Social Cheeseburger The Mac n Cheese is a must get as a side in my opinion. One of the first times we visited they had carrot cake as a dessert, we still talk about that carrot cake today. If you are a sweet tea lover this place has a twist which I love. The fish is fried perfectly. The chicken as well though I could have used a little more seasoning. Sides were good. But that turkey wing. My hubs took one bite. Looked at me and smiled. I knew it was on. I don't even really like turkey but I would eat three of those happily for thanksgiving. If you see the turkey wing get it! Can't wait for my next trip back.

They only had a few meats left when we got there and one of them was the stuffed turkey wings, which was highly recommended. It was cool, but nothing like I expected. I thought it would be packed with flavor, but I needed that Louisiana red rooster hot sauce for the extra flavor which I thought would have been marinated in the meat. The star of the show was that okra seafood stew. That was a 10 out of 10 for me! We got the cabbage, but I have never in my life had sweet sugary cabbage. That threw me totally off! My brother loved it and it's definitely an acquired taste. Not for me at all. We had about three hours till closing, and there was a small line so the place does great business and people love it.
