This is for a review pre-COVID, January '20. I will say this, Roudy is an acquired taste, but my…read morepartner and I absolutely loved it. Especially those of us coming from the city he does a lot of it to give you the full experience, politics and all. After riding for longer than our allotted time, Roudy chatted with us in his cabin for at least another hour or two, he's a character who's lived quite the life and it's worth listening to. Highlights include some great story about politicians coming to Telluride and the many commercials etc that have been filmed on his ranch (who knows if they're all true but he can tell a story for sure). Now on to the actual horseback riding itself. Unlike other places where the horses are essentially preprogrammed and you as a rider or just there to sit, Roudy's horses are going to take you where you want (and my partner found out that if you don't encourage them they'll stop and do their own thing). All of this is to say it's worth the money, it's a great experience and a whole lot of fun if you let it be.

Horses were well loved and very gentle. Our 10-year old daughter thought this was the highlight of her Telluride trip. Here's the deal: don't be late (that is extremely rude and completely selfish) and don't be sensitive (get over it, people have different opinions in life - and that's what makes the world go round). Roudy and staff warn you plenty of times in advance not to be late, and in fact, tell you to be there 15 to 30 min early. Don't be the selfish people who hold up the rest of the ride, it is really embarrassing for you. It is actually sad to think that Roudy is the first person to point this out to you; let me be the second. :) The directions they provide on their website are perfect (don't follow your gps). Highly recommend! So much fun for the whole family. We would do it again!

He kindly bundled us up in layers of blankets, offered to take pictures on number of occasions both off and in the horses, took us around on the sleigh with a pleasant & informative conversations throughout. It was snowing and with a three year old who wasn't a very happy camper so I was sure how this will go but in a magical moment the leader foggier excitedly took off and her "kisses" started the horses, alas! She was a completely excited and extremely happy camper! My hubby and the munchkin got to ride in the front with the guide and "drive" too! I wish the tour was longer! I never wanted it to end! So magical and amazing experience AND it wasn't very expensive. $45 per adult and $35 per child was nothing for this unforgettable experience!!! He said they have a pony/goat/donkey... I don't rem what he said but some other ride my munchkin would be able to do in the spring/summer. I can't wa to go back to Durango for another magical vacation!! And to think I only stumbled upon this when I wa frantically trying to find a fun activity to replace the original plan of going tubing (found out it wasn't open on weekdays)... What a blessing in disguise!! Thank you!! We WILL be back!

We have ridden with Rapp for three summers in a row now and we'll continue to ride with them for…read moremany to come. There are a few specific reasons for this: 1. They treat their horses VERY well and this should be very important to you, as a rider and a decent human being. These horses are loved and very well cared for. Each trail leader we've had has commented on the high level of care that Ann gives these horses and it shows. Every horse we've ridden has been a great, happy horse. 2. Ann empowers women and girls. The majority of employees at Rapp are women and that's not an accident. Ann also has younger girls come volunteer their time to learn how to work the corral and take care of the horses. Very cool. 3. Their location- right by Haviland Lake and across from the gorgeous red cliffs. Yes, they just burned this summer, but there is still plenty of beauty to behold in that area. Do yourself and your family a favor and ride at Rapp. It is quality fun all the way around.

The staff is fantastic, very patient and informative. They went over every detail about how to "drive " the horse. Nice facility with horses that seem happy and well taken care of. I highly recommend the Rapp Coral when in the Durango area
