They included things I've never seen anyone do before. They included in the price a Spot Satellite messaging system in case of a break down or in need of emergency services (No cell service on Alpine loop FYI), an ice chest with a bag of ice, a cell phone that provided real time GPS tracking using the Dirt app so you can see where you are in realtime. Not to mention the helmet for my son and a clean and well maintained ATV. Highly recommend them!

After reviewing several guided riding outfits, we chose Telluride Wranglers. They offered a few different riding locations and had several options for duration of ride. They also have some rides that include a meal offering. And even combine an overnight camp out with a ride as another option. The variety of options was appealing to us, however, the fact that the ride was private for just our group was the determining factor that sold us on Telluride Wranglers. We selected a 2 hour ride at the Woods Lake location. This is the farthest of the locations, but was a very beautiful and peaceful location. It is approximately a 45-50 min drive from the center of Downtown Telluride. And this particular drive does include a portion of the drive to the site on unpaved roads (sometimes smooth, sometimes a bit bumpy. Overall, we thought the beauty of the location justified the additional time to get there and the 12 - 15 minute unpaved portion of the journey. NOTE: make sure u allocate 45-50 min to get there or the length of your ride will be shortened by the amount u are late. We also had some confusion about exactly where we would meet our guide, the location that was indicated in the text had some horses tethered up but no guide. We were eventually directed a bit more down the road where guide and horses awaited. Our guide was Piper and she was great. Clearly an expert on horses and on navigating the trails. She made us both feel very comfortable. Offered lots of tidbits along the way about the flora and fauna, the horses, and the local area. She also snapped pictures of us along the way and airdropped them to us at the end. A very nice touch. In the entirety of the ride we only saw a couple of hikers and a couple people on the lake paddle boarding. It was incredible to be in such a gorgeous setting that was really peaceful and isolated.

We met our 2 guides, Leo and Josh, right outside the Mountain Village gondola. They expertly explained the process, safety features and what to expect. After gearing up we took a chair lift to the training area where we learned the hand signals and practiced on a small line. We then walked to our first zip line. So much fun flying through the air and viewing beautiful Telluride! We experienced 5 long rides and also 2 aerial bridges and 2 rappels. This was a fun experience and our guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!

It was not too bad at first but then it got a little dicey where vehicle wheels had made deep ruts in the mud which then dried. Some water puddles in spots. Rocky and gravel in others. We encountered a lot of vehicles to me. A convoy of jeeps and two trucks on their own trips, it made for a dusty drive and we held off so we could see the view without the dust clouds blocking it. And it was narrow in spots where if a vehicle was coming from the other direction we would have been stuck. Steep grades too. The positives? It was like a fairy land in spots. With fall leaves softly falling in the wind and the aspens pressing in on both sides. Then the dark green pines in forbidding rows. The overlooks with breathtaking scenery of colors - browns, greens and yellows. Houses here and there. We stopped and accidentally found the property where scenes from True Grit had been filmed. I was constantly charmed by the lovely magical feel of the woods. And then scared at the drive itself. It felt like woods where elves live. Then we were through to the Telluride side. Such an amazing experience. Im glad he's such a great driver and navigated us safely on the route. I'll never forget that gorgeous drive.

I heard about a magical 'hike' called the via ferrata in Telluride about a year ago, and became…read morevery keen in researching and watching YouTube clips of it throughout the year. Finally I booked my trip to Telluride and decided to go with a guide. While I love to hike all over Colorado and have done more pretty awesome mountains on my own as well as rock climbing, I felt safer with a guide. Plus, they had the correct harness attachments, which would be pointless for me to buy and only use once. Our guide was from Europe and had been doing via ferrata since he was 7, so he came with a lot of knowledge. He was also great about contacting me before the climb and following up. Overall, great company and great decision in not going on my own!

Ouray sits in a deep valley at 7,792 feet above sea level. The jagged, snow-capped peaks of the San Juan Mountains that encircle the town give Ouray its resemblance to the Swiss Alps. It is a great town to visit. Especially if you are an outdoor enthusiast and a fan of hot springs. The Switzerland of America Lookout Point sign is located on the Million Dollar Highway about a mile and a half south of town. It is a popular photo spot for tourists. The Million Dollar Highway is a 25-mile mountain road with stunning views that runs between the towns of Ouray and Silverton. We were able to spend some time in Ouray before driving the Million Dollar Highway. We visited Box Canyon and enjoyed some time in a hot spring.
