Bruce Spruce Ranch is a very peaceful place, nestled in a quiet valley at the bottom of Wolf Creek Pass, just 15 minutes north of Pagosa Springs. Here you can get back to nature, where you sleep in a cabin warmed by a potbelly stove with firewood you chop yourself. Kids have tons of activities, including multiple playgrounds, a creek to play in, hiking trails, tetherball, cornhole, and dozens of free board games and puzzles. So relax and sit on the porch swing - every cabin has one, or catch some rainbow trout for dinner in the fully stocked pond. Book a horseback ride, hike up to Treasure Falls, or just sit in an adirondack chair and watch the chipmunks and hummingbirds. Gather the family around the nightly campfire to enjoy hot dogs and s'mores, and spend the night telling stories under a night sky with millions of stars, free of light pollution. And if you need to reconnect to the outside world, the ranch offers Starlink with fast WiFi in every cabin and throughout the RV park. Spend a few days here, and I promise you'll be back.

This is a great place to bring your family to relax around the campfire in the evening; and during the day go hiking, fishing, do some horseback riding, or sightseeing in the surrounding area. The Hinger family has been running Bruce Spruce Ranch since 1966, so it's a family owned business. I really thought it was incredibly romantic stopping by! We stumbled upon Bruce Spruce Ranch in West Fork Campground. We absolutely enjoyed how hot and humid it was in May of this year and enjoyed interacting with the horses. They are incredibly busy, so it was kind of tricky to reserve a spot. I admired looking at all the horses and their many colors. Back in the Day: The cabins rented for somewhere in the area of $2.00 per night, and reservations were made at least a year in advance. Today, the four Hingers, with the help of other family members, continue operating the guest ranch and making improvements, welcoming some families every year into the fourth generation. It is a great place to bring family to relax, fish, hike, sight-see or go horseback riding.

Massive", and found it sparkling clean, spacious, and welcoming. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We especially loved the gas fireplace, that added much to the overall charm. Our last day, we woke up to a lovely mountain view, with a dusting of snow on the high peaks. What could be better than that? Of note is a great guidebook (not just the one online) that helps to enhance your visit, and even offers some discounts at local businesses. We are looking forward to some time at Creekside again this winter. It's so convenient to Monarch Mountain, another gem in the Salida area. We are hoping to secure a chalet closer to the picturesque and peaceful creek. Another special bonus of this unique and special lodging.

The place was so clean, I half expected a cleaning fairy to waltz in and curtsy. The furniture and beds? Comfier than a post-Thanksgiving nap. Pillows? Fluffier than a baby alpaca. And those clear plastic boxes for extra bedding? Pure organizational wizardry. Marie Kondo would weep. Cozy blankets made me consider quitting my job and becoming a professional blanket burrito. Pet friendly too--complete with poop bags and couch covers so my dog could live her best life and I didn't have to wrestle her off the sofa like a WWE match. The smoking station on the back porch? Genius. Keeps butts out of nature while still letting smokers feel fancy. The kitchen? Huge table, solid chairs, and a crockpot that made me feel like I'd been transported to a cooking show. Quality pots and pans for days, but only four coffee mugs. FOUR. For a whole chalet. Are we hosting an exclusive espresso club? And one dish towel? My sponge practically filed a complaint. Here's the kicker: it snowed overnight the first night, and by the time we came back from skiing, the walkway was shoveled and the hot tub lid was cleared off like some magical snow-removal ninja had swung by. Honestly, it felt like Santa was moonlighting as chalet maintenance. We did lose heat the first night for a few hours, which gave us an unexpected "polar survival" experience, but those thick duvets were life-savers. Overall, 10/10. As it turned out, even with a full house this property was perfect for all. 6 adults and 5 kids. This property met or exceeded any expectations we may have had. Three showers, two tubs and exceptional closet space. The master closet is the size of a small bedroom, and we were able to organize each child's belongings on separate shelves. Hot water was plentiful, as were all kitchen utensils. The larger family style table was perfect for family dinners. The dishwasher and washer and dryer worked well. And as a bonus there is a second dryer in the garage. So we were able to dry wet snow suits and wet bathing suits without having to track snow in the house. Bedrooms were comfortable and the hot tub was a bonus. Pagosa Springs Paradise is perfect for any family, small or large. We rate this property as exceptional.

Another bedroom has king bed, full bath, and entrance to the back itself in case you want to sneak in late. Another bedroom also without a bathroom inside but there's one across the hall. Did I mention that bathrooms have robes and slippers? And that the floors are heated? And that the bedrooms have fireplaces? It's truueeee! Then we have the top floor with an awesome kitchen with top of the line appliances and everything you need. And a nice sized living/ dining area along with a bar too. The patio outside is a superstar! Lots of furniture. Hot tub!! Grill!! Views or the mountain and town. The guy that met us and showed us the House was a wealth of info.
