Creekside Chalets was a delightful place to stay while exploring the Salida area, and doing a little "leaf peeping" this Fall. Husband and I stayed in "Mt. Massive", and found it sparkling clean, spacious, and welcoming. It definitely exceeded our expectations. We especially loved the gas fireplace, that added much to the overall charm. Our last day, we woke up to a lovely mountain view, with a dusting of snow on the high peaks. What could be better than that? Of note is a great guidebook (not just the one online) that helps to enhance your visit, and even offers some discounts at local businesses. We are looking forward to some time at Creekside again this winter. It's so convenient to Monarch Mountain, another gem in the Salida area. We are hoping to secure a chalet closer to the picturesque and peaceful creek. Another special bonus of this unique and special lodging. read more

Creekside Chalet review: 5 stars. Honestly, 6 if I could. The hot tub alone deserves its own award--basically a therapy session with jets. The place was so clean, I half expected a cleaning fairy to waltz in and curtsy. The furniture and beds? Comfier than a post-Thanksgiving nap. Pillows? Fluffier than a baby alpaca. And those clear plastic boxes for extra bedding? Pure organizational wizardry. Marie Kondo would weep. Cozy blankets made me consider quitting my job and becoming a professional blanket burrito. Pet friendly too--complete with poop bags and couch covers so my dog could live her best life and I didn't have to wrestle her off the sofa like a WWE match. The smoking station on the back porch? Genius. Keeps butts out of nature while still letting smokers feel fancy. The kitchen? Huge table, solid chairs, and a crockpot that made me feel like I'd been transported to a cooking show. Quality pots and pans for days, but only four coffee mugs. FOUR. For a whole chalet. Are we hosting an exclusive espresso club? And one dish towel? My sponge practically filed a complaint. Here's the kicker: it snowed overnight the first night, and by the time we came back from skiing, the walkway was shoveled and the hot tub lid was cleared off like some magical snow-removal ninja had swung by. Honestly, it felt like Santa was moonlighting as chalet maintenance. We did lose heat the first night for a few hours, which gave us an unexpected "polar survival" experience, but those thick duvets were life-savers. Overall, 10/10. Already plotting how to make this my permanent address. read more

Love this place. Would go back in a minute. The campsites by the river are so well kept and peaceful. I loved the sound of the river through the night. The entire place is immaculate and plenty of things to enjoy. Kids have a nice play area as well. read more

We have stayed at Creekside twice now, once in December and once in July, and absolutely loved it both times!! The cabins are a great size, totally clean, and we love the private hot tubs and ability to rent a propane fire pit for the day. The internet is not the strongest, so I recommend downloading any maps, shows, or movies before you arrive or while in town. Then the airplay to the tv works great for movie night. We'll be back, for sure! read more

Great location. The hospitality was top notch. Excellent communication and guest service. The grounds are well kept and lots of places for kids to play. Will definitely stay again. read more

Creekside Chalets is the perfect mountain getaway and truly a gem of the rockies! Far enough from Salida to feel secluded, yet close enough to where driving to town is not a chore. My wife and I stayed in their one-bedroom chalet for our anniversary weekend. It was the perfect place to disconnect from technology and reconnect with each other. The property is right on the creek, which allows for calm relaxing walks around. The chalets are stocked with pots, pans, shower products, and everything you would need to cook a meal! Additionally, the wifi isnt that great, however I see that as a plus as it kept us away from our phones. This will become a regular visit for us every year! read more

Nice property, well appointed and comfortable. The property was clean and everything was in good working order. The only negative was WiFi reception (probably related to service availability) read more

It was so clean, the beds were comfortable, and the whole area was beautiful. We will be back next fall.

This is definitely the best option to Monarch Mountain. Everything is nice and clean and plenty of space. It is also dog friendly, which is a huge bonus. There are a good amount of kitchen items to use. The hot tub is good sized and nice to have as an amenity. The staff is very responsive also. We will be going back. Only bummer is that they book up quickly. Great problem for them to have though. read more

I have lost count of our visits to this beautiful, quiet place, in all seasons. We take our cat Merry, she loves the big windows and watching the birds land on the porch as we feed the Russel Jays bread crumbs. This pas trip we enjoyed the hot tub, as we usually can not tolerate the heavy Chlorine used in most locations, but NO CHLORINE SMELL! It was so nice to enjoy that again! We noticed the upgrades, the added decor, and the grounds were beautiful! I have recommend this oasis in the mountains to several friends who have all visited over the years. Thank you Creekside Chalets for another wonderful weekend!! We shall see you in late Spring. Sandy McCoy-Cooper Canon City, CO read more

Nice location near good fishing and hiking. A lot of highway noise as it's right on highway 50. We enjoyed our time there.

Great location just a lot of confusion! No sign anywhere that says no fires yet when I call I was told no open flames however the people renting the house across from us had an open flame fire every night! Was told there was WiFi because the cell signal is horrible there. Not a negative for me but if you have WiFi provide the password for your guest don't make us have to call. Another negative was no main site where you could go to with questions. Also no bathrooms! Just a portable potty which I will say was clean. However we stayed five days. Wish I would known ahead time that there were no showers. It truly is a lovely location just needs to be up front about dos and don'ts read more

Great spot for a trip to the Salida / Monarch Mountain area. Cabin was well-maintained and comfortable. Roughly equidistant from Salida and Monarch Mountain makes for a great base to have a good vacation. Little ones enjoy the playground and we had a blast on the industrial trike! Private hot tub was clean and warm and the beds were comfy! read more

We loved our chalet and the beautiful, private setting. Had a little trouble with the website when booking so called and left a message - worked through it the next day. We will go back - it is one of those places that will be even better the second time because you know what to expect! read more

Love it here. Amazing Chalets. For a romantic birthday getaway as we are enjoying, my 63rd, or a family retreat...or I've heard weddings are popular here and I can understand why. These Chalets are spacious and extremely clean and well maintained as well as property. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. If you bring your dog they have it all here including bed and dog feeding area and bags. Just to cute. Jillian and Jason are owners and excellent seeing to whatever to make your stay perfect. So much storage in the Chalet and close to Monarch Mountain for skiing and snowmobile rentals. Minutes to Salida for all season sports, river rafting zip lining four wheeling and fishing. Any season I'd recommend a stay. You'll want to come for a good sit and relax spell so don't rush away. read more

This is our second stay on one of the one bedrooms this month. We were not overly pleased from our last stay but went ahead with the second since it was a different cabin. We stayed for New Years 2018/2019 and December 19-21 2018. Here were our issues: 1. the heaters do not work properly. Each room has a floor based heating element. The bedroom one worked well this time but none of the others did. In fact the bathroom heater didn't work at all. I set all the heaters at 86 ( the mac setting) upon arrival. This is because our heaters wouldn't heat over 72 last time. Other than the bedroom none of the heaters went over 72. There was a portable space heater in the closet, showing someone knew the heater was broke. So we used it in the bathroom. However we have a 9 month old andcthis type of heater is NOT safe at all! The heating issue is unacceptable and should have been disclosed prior. 2. We arrived early and were told by the cleaning staff we could check in as soon as they were done. We returned to the cabin sometime In the 2pm hour. My husband and the baby stayed so the baby could nap. However a maintenance man came in the cabin unannounced through the back door. He proceeded to call someone on the back porch and very angrily explained we were not supposed to be there yet. He then talked to my husband and was VERY rude. He told him we were trespassing and could not be in the cabin till 4. He told him he needed to fix the hot tub. Of which we had no plan to use. He was clearly angry the cleaning staff had not told him we were there. I can see why he was frustrated. However he has no right to speak this way to a customer. Also he should never enter a residence without announcing himself. What was he doing going inside anyway? He stated he just needed to work on the hot tub. 3. Windows. The heating problem is amplified by windows that leak terrible. It was -1 when we got up in the morning and every window had a layer of ice inside. I took pictures of this. You could feel the breeze coming in all the windows. 4. Stocked dishes. I did lot know how poorly out kitchen was stocked in our first visit until we stayed the second time. I was pleased to have so many useful kitchen utensils. The first stay we had half of these. 5. Parking. This time a large truck parked in the parking spot directly in from of our parking sign. You should have some way to enforce parking. I should not have to knock on every cabin door to confront who ever is illegally parking in my spot. 6. Dirty. This visit our floors were very dirty. As were the kitchen chairs. We had cereal from previous visitors fall off the chairs when we pulled them out. The table and chair framed were sticky. The living room floor had dirt around the edges. We have a 9 month old so we spend a lot of time on the floor. I should lot have to clean when we arrive. It was obvious you reuse the disposable hand soap container in the bathroom as well as the kitchen sink dish soap. I can't see the refilling yo save money but the disposable containers you are using are not made for that. They were so dirty and disgusting. They appeared to have never been cleaned. 6. Hot water. The first night we arrived my son took a warm bath. This somehow used ALL of the hot water. There wasn't any more for other showers for more than an hour. 7. WIFI. Our first stay there was only one other cabin in use. At that time the WiFi was ok. Not great but you could still use Facebook or open webpages. However. This time Facebook wouldn't even open and web pages took two full minutes to load. I don't feel you can claim to offer WiFi if it performs this poorly. This exact comment was sent to the company 1/2/2019. I will update of they respond. read more

We have been staying at Creekside Chalet & Cabins for many years in the fall months & this was our first winter stay - it continues to be one of our favorite staycations in Colorado!! The new Owners have made significant improvements both inside the cabins & outside on the property! I highly reccomend them if you are looking for warm, freindly service & an alternative to the hotel/motel experience. They are very dog friendly as well #neverleavethedogbehind! Can't say enough positive things about these unique cabins - perfect place to kick back & relax after a day spent playing the mountains & surrounding Salida area! read more

We needed a weekend away and were so happy to have found this place. We loved the creek, the amenities and the hot tub. It was the much needed break we were looking for. We also appreciated the extra steps they took in keeping the place clean from one guest to the next during this Covid19 time. If you need a place to stay and relax this is the place. We will likely come back in the winter to take the kids to Monarch. read more

Absolutely amazing place to stay for a weekend beautiful views and comfy accommodations

We absolutely loved our stay at the chalets. We stayed 2 nights and were pleased with all the features and amenities of the cabin. The hot tub was so relaxing, everying was extremely clean and well maintained. And they include pets which is a huge bonus for us. We intend to definitely stay again and try it out during the colder season. The perfect getaway!!! read more

This place was great. The cabin was clean and well kept. We have two large dogs with us and I was a little hesitant thinking it would smell like dog in the place but it did not at all!! They have couch covers so that your dog can get on the couch without messing up the leather. I had emailed with Jillian prior to staying to ensure everything was good to go and she was great to work with. I do not remember the guys name but he was nice enough to let us know about the wifi being spotty due to a fire near by. He made sure that everything was in order in the cabin. It has a private hot tub and full kitchen. They have a grill available but we could not use it due to the burn ban. That was completely understandable since a fire was going on near by. We could see deer right outside our window. That was cool. This place is close to downtown about 10 minutes away. We were mainly there to go hiking. The national Forest is close San Isabel. If you take a 1.5 hour drive you can get to Pike national Forest as well. They have a nice Creek that runs through the property. They also have Cornhole and Jenga to play outside. I would stay here again and plan a trip with friends to rent out a couple of the cabins at a time. The only thing I would suggest for the owners is maybe buying a few cages for dogs. Then you can rent them out to people if they need one while they stay. At least for me it would be worth 5.00 a day to have a cage available that I don't have to haul back. ** Update I talked with Jillian and they do have cages you can use while you stay with them! So next time for sure I will ask them for the cages!! read more

Perfect spot! Comfortable, cozy, well maintained beautiful property

Creekside chalets and cabins makes for the perfect weekend getaway. For us it's just a 2 hour drive from our home. I've now done a girls trip and couples trip at this location. Both times the experience was incredible. The cabins are very clean, which is a big one for me. The property is beautiful. Everything you could need to cook is stocked in the kitchen. You are close enough to Salida to go do things, but far enough away to where you can just breathe and have some peace. The private hot tubs are our favorite part. It's also very pet friendly. We brought our little dog, and she had a great time as well! We actually got engaged at this location this past weekend. And so this place will forever be special to us. read more

We loved our stay at the cabins. They were very clean and lovely inside. The property is really beautiful, in a little patch of trees off of the main road. Our family of five easily fit into the smaller cabin and definitely beat staying in a hotel. My son loved the creek and it was so relaxing to sit next to it and read. We only stayed two nights, but wished we had booked more. read more

Just spent 6 nights here. My family, 6 adults and 2 dogs were very comfortable in the 3bdrm cabin, while 2 other couples with us loved their 1 bdrm cabins. Our cabin was right off if 50 so we did have some traffic noise but the others seemed very quiet. The owner was responsive to a need for a new coffeepot and made sure all else was good. Great location, close to hot springs, hikes, drives, ghost towns, shopping, brews and wines, and dining read more

very cozy and comfortable and CLEAN cabin! We loved the little nature walk along the creek and the fun common area lit up with lights. They were even very thoughtful to have extra cleaning supplies at the entrance for COVID cleaning. Will stay again! read more

Great place to stay for ski vacation at Monarch. The cabins a clean and comfortable with all the amenities that we needed. So nice to be able to bring our own food. The new couches are comfortable and the memory foam bed was a nice touch. Loved having our own hot tub right out the backdoor. The kids really enjoyed being out there while it snowed. Worked out great that we were able to bring our dog. They even have couch covers if your dog is used to being on the couch. Very close to Monarch and Salida with both being about 15 minutes away. Owner was very nice and their dog is a friendly greeter. We will be back! read more

We spent the week of Christmas in Mt. Elbert. It is a tri plex but we never heard the neighboring guests at all. It was modern and tastefully decorated right next to parking for it, which was nice because we had a lot of heavy Totes to haul in with all of our snow gear. We enjoyed skiing, tubing, sled-dogging and snowmobiling which were all located within ten minutes of the Chalet. There was a grocery store five minutes away and of course the town of Salida was also near by. We enjoyed strolls along the beautiful creek and relaxing in the private hot tub each evening. We got about six inches of snow in one night and the roads were continually plowed all day to Monarch. The owners of the Chalet had the place shoveled and the driveway plowed as well and this continued as more snow fell. The owners are very attentive and it shows. There is one bathroom but it is large and well stocked with lots of extra towels to last the week. I would rent two parts of the tri plex or the largest chalet offered if I came with a larger group (there was only five of us which was fine). The only thing missing was a step stool for the kitchen cupboards (all glasses and coffee mugs are located above the sink which being 5'2", I had to have my husband reach for me), and some dog friendly towels (I felt really guilty wiping muddy paws on white towels, but there were no other options). By the end of the week we ended up getting a couple brown towels at Walmart and a pack of dish towels (a few small, thin dish towels were provided). We did a lot of cooking and everything we needed, including a blender and crock pot, were provided. read more

we had the most amazing experience at creekside we rented three cabins with are big family , they had everything we needed , the bed were all very comfortable, we were close to everything we were there to do , the hot tub was so nice to end our days there , they provided a nice fire pit for the kids to make s'mores , I want to give Bennett who works there a big shout out , what a great job, our family thanks this place so much for the great memories read more

Living in Colorado Springs, we stay at Creekside Chalets pretty often. Great location for skiing, hiking, and mountain biking! Cabins are neatly tucked in the midst of Aspen trees, and they are roomy and organized...ready for making those "at home" meals. I appreciate the opportunity to soak those sore muscles in private hot tubs! Although I've never brought my dog, I love that they welcome pets on property. The particular cabin we were in this time needs a little upgrade and a few repairs (some lights didn't work, back door deadbolt was broken, etc). We had a few unwelcomed mice visitors, but the property managers said they were aware of the situation and actively working on it :) Overall, a great place to stay, and the managers seem to care about their property. read more

What a beautiful place to stay if you are looking to hike in and around the Rocky Mountains near Salida Colorado. Well kept cabins with remote fenced in hot tubs. We rented the Antero chalet. Perfect for Two. Full kitchen, bbq grill, picnic table, solo layback outdoor chairs on a clean pea gravel patio. Gas fireplace and 60" flatscreen in living room with vaulted ceilings and 2 story windows. King bed with tv in bedroom as well as hot tub and deck access. Make shift Murphy bed for a kid or two or 3rd wheel. Full size table and breakfast nook. 5 stars if chalets we're equipped with individual privacy fencing. Plenty of room, stream runs through rear of chalet! read more

We really enjoyed our stay at Creekside! Close to Monarch mountain and Salida. Our cabin was clean and relaxing. Beautiful set up. My only suggestion would be that the kitchen was very minimally stocked. There were no hot pads to use when cooking, and no kitchen towels for drying dishes. Those things would have been helpful. We also had problems with the wifi while we were there. Pretty minor things that did not detract from our stay. read more

I spent two nights here and was overall very happy with my stay. We stayed in the Mt. Massive cabin. When we first pulled onto the property I was very excited because there were so many trees and although it was right next to the highway, you couldn't see it because of the trees. However, our cabin, along with the other two that it's connected to, didn't have any trees in front of it. From the porch you have a perfect view of the highway. So if I go back, I'll make sure to stay in one of the other cabins. The cabin itself was very nice. It was pretty roomy and clean. I liked the way it was decorated; it had a rustic/outdoorsy feel. Everything worked well in the cabin, including the hot tub! The hot tub had a nice view of the mountains. The bed was comfy and I slept very well. Aside from me not liking the location of my cabin, the rest of the property was beautiful. They have a nice walking path along the creek. I didn't have an interaction with anyone that worked there so I can't comment on that. Like I said, overall I was very happy. I would recommend this place to anyone, just make sure you reserve a stand alone cabin if you want a more "woodsy" feel. read more
