I've used Tel Wick Towing in the past and never had an issue with their service, but last week I was out for a walk with my daughter and the Tel Wick tow truck driver pulled over, said hello, and offered her a Hot Wheels car. She absolutely loved it, and I must say how cool it is that such a simple gesture that probably didn't take much time or effort from the driver was able to make such a positive impact. When choosing a tow truck company, we normally don't put too much thought into it because hey, it's just a tow, they do their job, I just want a fair price. But to do a good job AND have great service, I will always select Telwick when able to. read more

I was driving on East 94 highway near the Middlebelt Exit. Truck number 27. Cut me off abruptly which naturally I honked at the Tow truck driver. The drive proceed to wave a bat out of the window sped up to get parallel to me and continued to wave the bat at me in an aggressive manner. I began recording the man and he proceed to come around from the farthest left lane to get behind me. I had to speed up to get away from him. This person should be fired for such reckless behavior. DO NOT go here!!! They tried scamming me and lying to me. I called AAA to have them replace my battery and he told me it wasn't my battery, it was my starter so I said ok I'll take it to a different shop tomorrow. He comes back and says oh now it is my battery. I hand him $150 and my car wouldn't start. He lied about my battery. I demanded my money back and he refused. I called AAA to complain and he eventually gave it back. 10 minutes later he shows up with the manager who is rude as hell and said they're make a police report on me that I stole cash that was laying on his paperwork from them!! After I threatened to call the cops on them they said "never mind we found it". AAA said they will be cutting ties with them and I'm making a report against them! Go to TOMS auto in Woodhaven! worst tow experience scam artists. Had to argue with driver to drop the car off where I wanted it to go. He kept telling me it had to go to Amoco. I couldn't figure out why until afterwards I looked it up on the computer and this is there shop. When He finally agreed to take the car to where I wanted it towed to he told me I was going to have to pay more money out of my pocket because it was farther than my insurance would cover. I flat out told him no way that the location was well within my insurance mileage limit. read more

My truck broke down at DTW Metro airport. I was away for 4 days and at the mercy of Tel-Wick. I am very picky and do not trust mechanics. In regards to Tel-Wick, I could not be more pleased. While away, they towed my truck to their garage, repaired the vehicle at a very reasonable cost and picked me up at the airport when I arrived, free of charge. The part they replaced was also left in a bag for me to see. Hani Berro was the person who picked me up and I just can't say enough good things about him and the service that they provided. Got a flat and needed a tow off 94. They said it would be $85 to take it their shop, (which was about 3 miles away) but would give me a discount on a tire. Once at the shop, they charged $50 to take off my tire, because I apparently had a stripped lug nut, then wanted to charge $75 for a used tire...great discount right..only positive was the response time out to my car after I called, but not worth the extra money. Definitely will not be recommending or returning. read more

Horrible service, rude attendants. Not too sure if they are licensed mechanics! The AAA station there are liars and cheats. They tell you that you will be charged more if you take your car anywhere else. They get all of the parts from the local autozone and charge you double or triple. Great service! My car broke down at DTW airport. It only took our driver (Bill) about 30 minutes to come and get us. He was very nice and kept the conversations casual. My car got in right away and took them only 20 minutes or so to figure out what was wrong with it. The staff was very friendly, offered us water and walked us to the waiting area. Sam, our mechanic, got my car fixed in a very reasonable time in order to head back to East Lansing by sundown. read more

Telwick helped me to make the best out of a really tough situation. After already having had repairs done on my vehicle a week earlier, my jeep again broke down. They were very caring and did what they could to save me a little money. This was much appreciated as I had just spent so much the week before. They finished a water pump and serpentine belt replacement in less than an hour. I would definitely go back to them again (hopefully don't have too!) and would recommend them to friends and family. I would NOT recommend them. After calling AAA, the tow driver convinced me to take my car to their shop. After trying to charge me a fee to look at my car after being told there would not be one, they told me the repair would cost $500 - obviously more expensive than it should cost, and a flat number that they surely made up. Long story short, I ended up going to the Redford Auto Repair down the street where they picked up my car from the other shop at no charge and made the same repair for $320. I could tell that the Redford folks were much more trustworthy, and they even threw in a cheap oil change and fixed a couple minor problems like a burnt out light. Avoid these guys at all costs. At least in my experience, I would recommend Redford Auto Repair down the street (I told them I'd write a great review since they took such good care of me!). read more

I have dealt with this towing company twice and both times I was disappointed. 1st time I was quoted a price and after they held my car for almost a week the price was considerably more when I picked it up. They also charged me $25 a day to keep it until they got around to fixing it. (I later learned from the dealership, the work was unnecessary.) Today I called for a jump and the driver waited about 20 minutes and said he didn't have time to let it charge, as he kept trying to turn it over instead of letting it charge. He left without my car running. Of course I still had to pay the $50. The neighbor came out, let it charge for a while and my car is running. Who do you think should have got the $50? read more

The tow truck was sent by AAA, and was fine. However, I let the driver take my car to the connected auto shop, and was very disappointed. I was first told that I needed a new radiator, water pump, head gasket, and possibly head, and it would cost between $1200 and $2000. I learned from other people that the engine never works the same after making these repairs, and I would be better off getting an engine from a junk yard installed, which I discussed with the mechanic, and he agreed. He said he would do the installation for $5-600 if I found the parts, but when I went back to make arrangements, the price had nearly doubled. When I balked at the increased price, he said I didn't have to use him, but in addition to the $65 checkout fee, I would have to pay $25 a day for storage (by this time my car had been there for several days). After further discussing with him, it was clear that even if I paid his higher price, he wasn't going to stand by his work, and was leaving the door open to charge me even more money. Ultimately, I decided to pay his ransom to get my car out of his shop, and took it to a place that is doing the whole job (including the price of the engine and radiator!!!) for $1400 AND giving a 90 day warranty on the job. Overall, I think this place is sketchy and highly recommend you use somebody else. read more
