I have been going here for a few years now, due to moving to mammoth area, & switching dentists from LA to the eastern sierras from being a full time resident! Everyone apart of this office is very friendly, but still very professional! From the way the speak, the way they are dressed, & how elaborate the staff is on explaining mouth care & medication directions post surgery! Dr Schrager is an incredible dentist, he does all the proper measures of sanitation, always makes me feel comfortable with his superb level of cleanliness as well while doing dental work! Dr, Summer, Ana & all his staff are always connecting with patients & it shows how thoughtful, aware, concerned & in tuned they all are! I value that so much cause it shows their level of service & actually care about anyone who steps foot in their office! I recently got my wisdom teeth removed, & was SO nervous! I thought it would hurt so much, but Dr Schrager numbed up my mouth after he knew it was ready to go & within almost less than 2 minutes both my top wisdom teeth I needed gone were OUT! I couldn't believe how fast he was, & how embarrassed I felt for being so nervous for only having to lay there for 2 minutes of my life. I was THRILLED I didn't feel a thing, it was so quick. I thought the next following days I'd be in pain, & be hurting, & I felt wonderful! Was at work the next day ready to go working a double! I followed the proper measures I was encouraged to do by the staff & everything healed up beautifully! Also the view from the office is always enjoyable to be staring at the Sherwins , you forget that you have Dr and assistants with metal tools in your mouth!, Always will & forever be the best dental practice I have ever stepped foot in! It may take a little bit of time to finally get an appointment, but having minimal dentist in town catering to 10-20,000 people, you just have have to have the trust that you're in the best hands & it is worth the wait! I have seen reviews for his Oceanside offices and they are glowing. A dr should not be judged because his office has cookies, nor should he be judged on his office decor. The more parents I talk to, the more I find they, too, are disappointed with his work. I wish I'd asked around more before I plunked down all the money! BIG regret.

I do recognize that giving such short notice to cancel is not ideal. In retaliation, they cancelled my upcoming cleaning appointment without notifying me. So I showed up, hearing whispers between the staff in the back (no one is ever at the desk to greet you). Then Dr. Overholtzer comes out and says I should seek care elsewhere. Fine. But to purposely not notify me of this prior to showing up was just petty. Also the 'consults' were over the top. It's really weird to have your dentist want to do a therapy session with you & not just take care of your teeth.

Appointments are often rescheduled, making it difficult to plan or take time off work with confidence. The biggest issue has been billing. Estimated charges rarely match the final cost, and it often feels like a bait-and-switch--services are approved based on one estimate, only to later be told insurance doesn't cover them. We've had the same insurance for years, so inaccurate quotes for things like composite fillings are frustrating and avoidable. This used to be a place we trusted and recommended, but we stopped going some time ago, and after today, my wife has decided she's done as well.

The dental staff continue to shine, even with the change of scenery. If you need your pearly whites shined to perfection, ask for Delanie, the dental hygienist. She'll make sure your teeth shine! The dentists are awesome and are second to none. Full disclosure: I've not had much of any interaction with the medical clinic in Bishop, since having made the choice to go to the Line Pine Clinic. One of the reasons is that they're consistently loaded up, while the staff at the Lone Pine Clinic accommodate my requests quite handily and easily. Also, a severe turnover in medical providers in Bishop also made it an easy choice for me to continue going to Lone Pine. As for the Pharmacy, it is only open to Indigenous American patients. So if you're able to take advantage of this as an Indigenous American, I highly encourage you to do so. As for why my rating has been scaled back, the recent change in management due to what some have termed "interfering board decisions" has not resulted in a positive, harmonious relationship, which is apparent in many of the Bishop staff, unfortunately. When the decision was made to eliminate the Preventive Medicine Department altogether, no public announcement was made nor were any patients consulted on the potential impacts. Instead, it was left to the remaining staffers to inform the patients affected. Such a hastily made and carried-out decision comes across as a sign of ineffectual management, something which often results after a turnover in management. It is with a hope for positive changes in the future that I write this.
