Horrible experience. Scheduled an appointment for tooth pain and bleeding gums. Had to wait 2 weeks to get in only to get there and be put through the torture of X-rays which caused further bleeding to my gums. Had a friendly chat with Marsha. Even tho she hurt me with the X-rays it's not her fault. Then doctor Sabrina came in and right off the bat has a nasty attitude, not sure what that was about. Tell her my situation and she goes over everything needed in my entire mouth. That's great and all but I'm here for a single toothache so I ask what the plan is, what can be done today to get me out of pain. In short...nothing. Ok so when? A month plus lol What a joke. Left in more pain than i had been dealing with for the past 2 weeks and have to wait another month before getting any relief. Unprofessional, incompetent and down right rude doctor. They are also using my husband as their personal little cash cow. They don't care at all for you. Thats evident right off the bat when on the phone to schedule the appointment. Before ever asking me what's going on or how I'm feeling, the receptionist goes straight to insurance info. She asked for my insurance information before my name FFs. Your only job is to provide a service. A service that the client needs, not a service of your choosing. If I had come in with no specific issue I understand they want X-rays to establish a baseline and get you started as a client. But I wasn't there to chit chat and make the doctor's car payment for the month. I was there for a specific issue that needed immediate attention. She sent me home with an infected tooth that she ignored. Horrible doctor! If I wasn't able to mitigate the infection myself and it had spread doctor Sabrina and I would be in court or worse. read more

always very happy and OVERJOYED when leaving Mammoth Dental! (crazy to hear when leaving a dentist right?!) I have been going here for a few years now, due to moving to mammoth area, & switching dentists from LA to the eastern sierras from being a full time resident! Everyone apart of this office is very friendly, but still very professional! From the way the speak, the way they are dressed, & how elaborate the staff is on explaining mouth care & medication directions post surgery! Dr Schrager is an incredible dentist, he does all the proper measures of sanitation, always makes me feel comfortable with his superb level of cleanliness as well while doing dental work! Dr, Summer, Ana & all his staff are always connecting with patients & it shows how thoughtful, aware, concerned & in tuned they all are! I value that so much cause it shows their level of service & actually care about anyone who steps foot in their office! I recently got my wisdom teeth removed, & was SO nervous! I thought it would hurt so much, but Dr Schrager numbed up my mouth after he knew it was ready to go & within almost less than 2 minutes both my top wisdom teeth I needed gone were OUT! I couldn't believe how fast he was, & how embarrassed I felt for being so nervous for only having to lay there for 2 minutes of my life. I was THRILLED I didn't feel a thing, it was so quick. I thought the next following days I'd be in pain, & be hurting, & I felt wonderful! Was at work the next day ready to go working a double! I followed the proper measures I was encouraged to do by the staff & everything healed up beautifully! Also the view from the office is always enjoyable to be staring at the Sherwins , you forget that you have Dr and assistants with metal tools in your mouth!, Always will & forever be the best dental practice I have ever stepped foot in! It may take a little bit of time to finally get an appointment, but having minimal dentist in town catering to 10-20,000 people, you just have have to have the trust that you're in the best hands & it is worth the wait! So grateful for Dr. Sabrina Cimerol! My son broke his front teeth (exposed root/nerves) in a bike accident while we were in Mammoth on vacation over a holiday weekend. I called around multiple offices and she was the only one that responded (after leaving her an initial voicemail). Not only am I glad she responded, but I am glad she was the dentist that we saw. She was extemely knowledgeable/proficient, so much that once we eventually drove back home and saw our local endodonist and dentist (for followup) days later, they were both impressed with her work and thorough writeup. I started to feel pain in my mouth a day before heading up to Mammoth for a Xmas ski trip. I decided to see if the pain got better, rather than going to my dentist in San Diego. Big mistake. It got worse, a lot worse. Unable to take it anymore, I called Dr. Schrager on Christmas Eve morning at 8:00 a.m. He picked up on the first ring and saw me a few hours later, opening the office to do so. Dr. Schrager then performed a root canal, as I had a "dying nerve." Dr. Schrager then checked in with me the next morning to see my status, which has much improved. Both of my parents recommend Dr. Shrager when I needed to have a wisdom tooth pulled. They had been seeing him a decade or so and loved his humor, knowledgeability, and respect for patients. I went in for my x-ray and consultation and was so happy I decided to go with him because he understood my nervousness and answered my questions calmly and honestly. The day of my tooth removal is quite a blur because I was heavily medicated haha but the day after he called to check on me and make sure things were going well. I used to go to Dr Comfort in Mammoth. He is a crook! I had an emergency crown break and needed it repaired ASAP. With the Covid lockdown nobody wanted to take me. Mammoth dental took me in and took great care of me. Out of appreciation I felt an overwhelming desire to express my appreciation so i bought his whole staff Starbucks drinks. I don't do many reviews. However, I feel that my experience here would be a good one to pass on. I had a dental emergency on Memorial Day here in Mammoth. I called several places and could not get an appointment, Then I called Dr. Schrager and he was able to get me in to his office at the end of his busy day and he discovered that I had an extra wisdom tooth (one that grew back) that was in bad need of removal. He stayed extra to treat me and did a super job! I am not that fond of dental surgery. (Who is, right!) He did the procedure so neatly and without any pain! I am shocked to read Brigitte L's comment below, and strongly urge you not to judge Dr. Schrager on an experience she had 15 years ago... I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Schrager and his entire staff. I was vacationing in Mammoth and had horrible infection erupt from a bad tooth on my second day there. The pain was so unbearable I needed to get into see a dentist asap. After several attempts with locating a dentist with my insurance my boy friend picked up the phone and called the closest dentisit (Dr. Schrager). I was able to be seen the next morning at 9am (during the holiday season). His staff was beyond cordial and Dr. Schrager was thorough and efficient. Thankfully Dr. Schrager was able to perform oral surgery- which not all dentists are specialized in and I was feeling better immediately. It is difficult to find a great dentist and I truly wish that Dr. Schrager was in the OC area. I emailed Mammoth Dental late one afternoon as I was beginning to experience some pain due to a decaying wisdom tooth. Dr Schrager emailed me back that evening! He told me that I could call him right then and subsequently offered me an appointment the following day. My dental extraction went smoothly and quickly. Had a minor emergency - a crown popped loose in Lone Pine, in the way up to Mammoth. It was Friday, just after lunchtime, and none of the dentists in Bishop were able to see me. Craig (that's how this dentist introduced himself) was able to fit me in that afternoon. He clearly explained what he was going to do, noted the ups and downs, refit the crown, and advised me on how to discuss it with my LA dentist. He and his whole staff were friendly, skilled, and compassionate. A great experience. read more

My experience with Dr. Schrager was one of the best experiences I've had with any doctor... I was skiing in Mammoth and developed a horrible tooth ache (and it was a Friday night). I called the office at 5am to see if their message would say whether they're open on Saturdays. Dr. Schrager picked up the phone! And even though they weren't open came in and sae me at 7:30am on a Saturday morning. We had to extract the tooth. It ended up being more difficult than originally we thought, but everything went absolutely well. I was on painkillers for the first 8 hrs after the procedure and then stopped and had minimal pain. The next day Dr. Schrager called me to make sure I was okay! And I was with no pain. Highly recommend! I'm not quite sure what experience the reviewer had 15 years ago but if it was in fact horrible, a lot has changed in 15 years! Dr. Schrager is great! read more

Dr. Schraeger is amazing. I had all four of my wisdom teeth out today and I was very nervous. Dr. Schraeger put my mind at ease by just talking to me about random things to keep my mind off of the procedure. Not only was he great, but his assistant was as well. On top of the wisdom teeth I had two fillings and they got me out of there in less than two hours. Later that night he called me himself to see how I was doing and I was very impressed by the personalized service. I highly recommend dr. I was driving into mammoth on a friday night and as i was getting close to town, i suddenly felt a sharp pain in one of my tooth and it progressively gotten worse. the pain gotten so bad i found Dr. Schrager on yelp and called in even though it was at 2am. Dr. Schrager and his wife was in bed, but he told me he could see me first thing in the morning. So i went in around 8am, he started a partial root canal and i was back on the slopes by noon. his office was clean, and he was very attentive during the whole procedures, he made sure i didn't felt any pain at all during the procedure while explaining each steps. He also wrote down the procedures for me to show my dentist back home, so they could easy follow and finish what he started. the only down side was the price, it is pretty pricy, but its an emergency procedure so you can't be choosy, and you do get what you pay for. Dr. Schrager also recommended a hot springs him and his wife frequents. I have yet to check it out, but did tell some of my frds and they said its worth a visit. read more

I don't think you could meet two nicer people. They fixed my front tooth with a "Temporary Crown" that I think looks better than my permanent one that I broke. If there is someone in this world who deserves to be called a "Trail-Angel", it's definitely Dr. Schrager!!! He was the reason that - in the end - I was able to finish my solo-nobo-JMT-hike and got my plane back to Germany on time! :) (...like you might guess now, I'm from Germany - I'm not a native speaker. So, I apologize for every mistake I will surely make - if you find some, you may keep them (I myself have enough ;))) Starting from Horseshoe Meadows in August 2016 my wisdom tooth started aching after I left Whitney. Since I was not really able to eat any more, I left the trail via Kearsarge Pass and arrived in Independence on a Friday evening... I tried to call a couple of dentists but I wasn't lucky. So (on my birthday...) I finally ended up in The Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop on Saturday morning (cuz after I called them they told me I should definitely show up there). The doctors were very friendly but in the end they weren't able to help. So they prescribed me a bunch of medicine and gave me a list with addresses of dentists saying I should try to call these to see one asap. So I called one dentist after another and left messages on their mailboxes. Meanwhile it was about noon and I had tried to reach out to far more than a dozen. It was Dr. Schrager who was THE ONLY ONE calling me back very shortly after I left the message on his mailbox... I can't tell how relieved I was. He said he would be up in the mountains on his mountainbike, but could be at his office at about 2 pm and then help me. So I hitchhiked from Bishop to Mammoth (because of that I met another Trail Angel - but that's a very different story...) and got there in time, while he was already waiting for me. He pulled out my tooth - and even put it into a tiny treasure chest so I would be able to carry it along with me :) Finally, he got me some different antibiotics and told me how to treat the wound right, so that I would be able to continue my trip. On the next day, I was happy to be back on the trail where I got my first trailname: Chipmunk... (it was well deserved! I was not allowed to eat any nuts cuz of the treatment, though - what a bummer for a hiker!!) However, the wound has healed perfectly, until today i have no further issues. If I would have had to wait until Monday to see a dentist, I most likely would have not been able to finish my hike because I would have missed my plane back home. Furthermore, the infection could have become even worse, so that I maybe would not have been able to hike at all. So, meeting these two trail angels plus getting my wisdom tooth pulled was definitely the best birthday present I could've thought of that day :) I'm sorry that it took me so long to write this review but i wanted to take some time for it - just writing a sentence like "he's a great dentist" by far wouldn't live up to it. I have a severe dental phobia but the staff at Mammoth Dental and Dr. Schrager were very understanding and had me feeling very comfortable. They introduced me to a device called a BUZZY and wow, did that ever make a difference during shots and procedures! I had lost my smile years ago due to bad teeth and Dr. Schrager completely restored my smile with a beautifully made, perfectly fitting partial denture. He has changed my life giving me my smile back! I also had 4 cavities he filled and those teeth now look beautiful. He is one of the best dentists I have ever been to. I was on 2nd day of an 11 day family vacation and had a terrible tooth ache. I tried to stick it out, but the pain was too much and I had 9 days left. Searched Yelp and Dr. Schrager and Mammoth Dental came up with 5 star ratings. I was comforted to see great reviews from people like me that were on vacation and had a dental emergency so I decided to call. They took me right away. The staff there was super friendly. Had x rays done and needed extraction. Dr. Schrager sent me to pick up my prescription because it was busy and he didn't want me to waste my time. When I got back I didn't wait long before he was taking my tooth out during his lunch break! He talked me through the whole process so I was prepared for whatever may happen. He made me feel really comfortable. Most important, he didn't want me to feel pain and I didn't. A terrible situation turned into a great experience thanks to Dr. Schrager and his staff. Dr. Schrager even called me in the evening to see how I was doing. My family visits Mammoth a few times a year and I would make Mammoth Dental my primary care if my insurance allowed! I was on a trip to June Lake Loop in June of 2015 when I had the worst tooth pain on a Friday night, I dealt with the pain for a couple days but by Sunday was just miserable. I looked on Yelp for a Dentist in Mammoth and came across Dr. Schraeger who I called right away, can you believe he took my call on a Sunday. I saw him bright and early on Monday morning and he was able to detect where the pain was coming from and resolve the issue. I had an abscess under a root canal that had been undetected but due to the elevation it was causing me severe pain. Dr. Schraeger suggested I see the Endodontist to ensure that the tooth could not be saved before being removed if necessary. Sadly, the tooth couldn't be saved, however my trip was saved and the tooth removed cleanly. Thank you Dr. Schraeger for being so dedicated to all who seek you out, you are a true professional. Dr. Schrager is wonderful. I fell while mountain biking in Mammoth and knocked my chin on the ground. I immediately knew that one or more of my front teeth had been knocked loose. He agreed to see me right away and was kind and thorough in making sure that there was no major damage that needed to be handled. This morning, a Saturday morning, I met Dr. Schrager for the first time. Life-saver. After two sleepless nights on a ski weekend in Mammoth, I awoke the second morning in such pain that I knew I needed some emergency help. At 7:30AM, I started making calls, not expecting much at that time on a Saturday morning, but on my third call, there was an actual voice on the other end. Dr. Schrager. Kind and reassuring, he actually said he could meet me at his office in 45 minutes. A miracle. When I got there I met a top notch human being--empathetic, caring, and very skilled. Proceeded with an examination, explained all that was going on and causing me such pain, then proceeded into a root-canal. He was extremely patient in making sure I was thoroughly numb, the procedure was painless, and he was very thorough in what I needed to do as follow-up once I got back to LA. Then while driving back to LA today, I actually got a call from Dr. Schrager asking how I was feeling. How often does a doctor or dentist do that these days?! I got to report to him that his procedure was already having great results. Today, Dr. Schrager restored by faith in humanity and the health profession.
