I was visiting my gf who lives in Bishop and she recommended me to have my acne checked out. From the moment I called to make my 1st appointment to arriving in office for scheduled appointment Jessica was great. Her positive attitude and honesty was evident from the initial call. Having other dermatologists look at my skin condition and not happy at all with how the results were or how I was treated, I went with my gf's 1st choice and came here. I'm so happy that I did and I have found my new skin care home! Please if your tired of being just a number and want that old time feel of people REALLY caring about YOU....then please look no further!! I would give 10 stars if I could!!!!!! Thank you to Doctor Hirschfield, Jessica, Heather and the rest of the staff at Bishop Dermatology. This office is also conveniently located close to restaurants, we ate at Sage for lunch after my appointment and went down the street to drop off packages at the local Post Office.

I do recognize that giving such short notice to cancel is not ideal. In retaliation, they cancelled my upcoming cleaning appointment without notifying me. So I showed up, hearing whispers between the staff in the back (no one is ever at the desk to greet you). Then Dr. Overholtzer comes out and says I should seek care elsewhere. Fine. But to purposely not notify me of this prior to showing up was just petty. Also the 'consults' were over the top. It's really weird to have your dentist want to do a therapy session with you & not just take care of your teeth.

State of the art 3-d imaging is good.... but then they'll try and set up more appointments to talk about stuff you didn't go there for. They'll make you pay $300 out of pocket and tell you every other dentist in town is the same (they aren't). They'll MISS YOUR CAVITY, and the other dentist you see a week later will catch it. And this wasn't even the worst part of it. Seems pretty scammy to me and I will not be going back.

And if…read moreyou do get in, they'll start working on all your teeth before they finish any of them, so you're stuck with years worth of unfinished work. They won't accept emergency visits so I had to pull a tooth myself after their root canal failed and my tooth broke. I've reluctantly been forced to update my review of Toiyabe's Bishop Clinic, particularly due to a…read morechange of location and a change of management, resulting in a rating of 3 stars, down from the previous 4 stars. The dental staff continue to shine, even with the change of scenery. If you need your pearly whites shined to perfection, ask for Delanie, the dental hygienist. She'll make sure your teeth shine! The dentists are awesome and are second to none. Full disclosure: I've not had much of any interaction with the medical clinic in Bishop, since having made the choice to go to the Line Pine Clinic. One of the reasons is that they're consistently loaded up, while the staff at the Lone Pine Clinic accommodate my requests quite handily and easily. Also, a severe turnover in medical providers in Bishop also made it an easy choice for me to continue going to Lone Pine. As for the Pharmacy, it is only open to Indigenous American patients. So if you're able to take advantage of this as an Indigenous American, I highly encourage you to do so. As for why my rating has been scaled back, the recent change in management due to what some have termed "interfering board decisions" has not resulted in a positive, harmonious relationship, which is apparent in many of the Bishop staff, unfortunately. When the decision was made to eliminate the Preventive Medicine Department altogether, no public announcement was made nor were any patients consulted on the potential impacts. Instead, it was left to the remaining staffers to inform the patients affected. Such a hastily made and carried-out decision comes across as a sign of ineffectual management, something which often results after a turnover in management. It is with a hope for positive changes in the future that I write this.

(They really should combine Dr. Woodcock's Truckee, Tahoe, and Bishop pages.)…read more I just got my wisdom teeth out two days ago at Dr. Woodcock's Bishop office. I wanted to write this review to dilute the effect of one reviewer who called him a "butcher". Dr. Woodcock and his staff really took care of me. They sent in all of my pre-op work to my insurance and the nurses were really patient and friendly when I kept calling back with questions about my coverage. When the pre-op came back from my insurance they called me immediately and kept trying to get ahold of me (I usually couldn't answer because they tended to call when I was working) to discuss it. I came in very nervous the day of my appointment and everyone was really nice. My nurse Becky was great, very helpful and comforted me a lot, because I was terrified. I got the nitrous oxide, then the anesthesia, after you're asleep they numb your mouth with Novacaine. Dr. Woodcock was cracking jokes for my benefit while they were getting me ready to go. All I remember after the anesthesia was my mouth being stretched open, and someone putting a towel or something over my eyes, which was MUCH APPRECIATED. It was just like going to sleep. They don't put you out completely here, they call it more like a "twilight zone", and that some people remember some things, but most don't remember anything. When I woke up I actually thought that they hadn't even started yet, it was so quick and I was so out of it. The nurses told me that I talked a lot, which is pretty funny but I don't remember any of that. Dr. Woodcock told me it only took about thirty minutes. They called my boyfriend for me and gave me my post-op instructions while we waited. Dr Woodcock told my boyfriend that his orders were for him to go get me a milkshake immediately. Then they gave me my teeth, and Becky and boyfriend both walked me out to the car. I really appreciated how they truly take care of you here. After I got home I was pretty miserable, the gauze was disgusting when I took it out to drink my shake and take my pills. I fell asleep and when I woke up I was in some pain but not too much. I never had to put the gauze back in. Dr Woodcock did a really great job on me, I have very little swelling, considering I had all four teeth taken out, and I have fair skin that bruises easily. I haven't bled at all since the first day. Overall the experience was much much better than I expected. I was expecting hell and misery and I got a little misery but nothing more than that. I thank Dr. Woodcock and his wonderful nurses for making this experience the best it could be. As a side note, Dr. Woodcock is also an anesthesiologist, which isn't common among oral surgeons, so I wasn't worried at all about getting anesthesia in his office.
