The guy running the place couldn't be nicer, friendlier, or more helpful. Major props for the excellent service. My brisket sandwich was fall-off-the-bone tender, and tasty. The mac and cheese was much better than it looked. The chili dog was very good although the pretzel bun was surprisingly tough. The potato salad was quite good too. All in all, Tee Dawgs is doin' it right. read more

Local place downtown. Casual order at the bar. We had brisket sandwich, good flavor and ample portions. Weren't that hot on the sauces but that's always very subjective. I had the large brisket chili bowl with corn bread. Both were very good and filling. Friendly place read more

The bbq is good, just good, but I was very surprised that no bread; cornbread, or hush puppies, or TX toast with the bbq. If you're in a pickle looking for bbq, it will hit the spot. read more

This BBQ joint is only open on the weekends and they run out of some of their more popular items (ribs, smoked wings) so get there early Friday or Saturday if you can. Everything they serve is delicious. The smoked wings and the brisket are our favorites. The Alabama sauce is so good, I'm PRETTY sure I could drink it. It's a fairly small spot, with about 8-10 tables, but they also have a small bar area with 6-8 chairs. They have a full bar but limited variety - so don't be picky. Overall, we would recommend if you're in town and craving some delicious BBQ. read more

The food was pretty good, the Mac & Cheese was delicious, we ordered Brisket and Ribs. Customer Service was amazing, we'll def be coming back. read more

TeeDawgs BBQ - a basket of pulled pork and a sandwich - American Near Me - Charles Town, West Virginia

Delicious barbecue, super friendly, can watch the game. Makes you feel at home. very casual.

Good food, fantastic prices, and great atmosphere. Just by myself, I'll bring the wife another opportunity! read more

Delicious ribs (very tender), green beans, cabbage and freshly brewed ice tea. The food is not too salty nor greasy, the way I like it. Variety of sauces options and all the ones I tried are delicious. (Original, sweet heat and pit.) Trent, co-owner is friendly, helpful and professional. Will definitely recommend anyone to patronize this restaurant. read more

I sometimes wonder if I lived in a world without Yelp, whether I would just mostly dine at corporate restaurant chains or stick with the same places I dine at all the time without ever venturing outside of my culinary comfort zone. Thankfully, we don't live in a Yelp-free world, and it continues to serve as a valuable resource to help me find hidden gems and I likewise, do the same by sharing cool places I come across. Charles Town, WV is not generally regarded as a "culinary hotbed". As a amusing anecdote, when we stopped into the Visitor's Center, one of the folks even said, "well, if you're looking for things to do, there isn't much here". So after visiting the various Civil War landmarks such as the courthouse where John Brown was convicted of treason and also the cemetery which serves as the final resting place for many of George Washington's relatives, my Yelp app suggested going to TeeDawg's for some awesome BBQ. This is a relatively new BBQ joint which has only been open since September 2018, but they are quickly building a local and regional following. One of the friendly staff, Courtni, explained that TeeDawgs started out as just a catering operation (and they still do extensive catering gigs), but once word of mouth spread, they set up shop at this prime spot along Washington Street in downtown Charles Town, and the business has been steadily growing. If I've said it once, I'll say it a thousand times, but there is just something in the DNA of the pit masters in the South which enables them to "do BBQ right". If you're going to visit TeeDawgs, do it on the weekends, since that's the only time they prepare ribs. And don't waste your time with the 1/2 rack, go all the way with the full rack. All of the meats are dry rubbed and then slow smoked for hours...and that's one of the predominate flavor profiles in the meats - SMOKE! The ribs were meaty and definitely "fall of the bone" tender; you really don't even need a fork to extract the bones, just a bit of pressure. And what you immediately notice is that bark and smoke ring around the meat. Mmmm...it's good. The brisket sandwich was tasty, but I did find that some of the pieces were a bit too fatty. And having once lived in the epicenter of beef brisket aficionados (Austin, TX), I understand that brisket needs some fat to keep it moist as it smokes, but still I think a bit of trimming before serving to customers would help. Sides were delicious! The mac n' cheese tasted like it had a combo of different cheeses, instead of just the generic florescent orange American variety and the slaw was nice and crunchy without too much mayo. Big plus with the house made BBQ sauces. My favorites were the Oh my Gawd sweet and Hot and the Alabama White sauce. I am a sucker for BBQ sauces which are both sweet and spicy, and this version has the right amount of heat to amp up the flavor. The only other time I've had a white style BBQ sauce is when I visited this place - https://www.yelp.com/biz/fatmans-smokehouse-bbq-montgomery-2 - during a business trip to Montgomery, AL a few years ago. White BBQ sauce is a uniquely Southern concoction which has some mayo, vinegar, horse radish, and a whole bunch of other savory herbs. All I know is, it's great to dip your smoked meats. Didn't get anything to drink other than water and ice tea since I had a long drive back to DC, but the prices of the draft beers are also pretty good. Check their board for daily specials and what they're pouring that day. If you're in the area either to view the historical sites or to visit the casino, do yourself a favor and skip the national chain eateries and fast food joints, and stop here for some authentic BBQ. read more

We stopped in after visiting Harpers Ferry. Both my husband and I ordered the 8 oz brisket & baked beans. BEST BRISKET WE'VE HAD IN YEARS!!! Seriously. Good. (And I'm not normally a bbq person.)The spicy mustard sauce was good but the Molasses sauce was perfect with the brisket. Only suggestion: get a sign that hangs perpendicular to the road. And a bit of neon couldn't hurt. We thought you were closed. Thanks for a great lunch. read more

Customer Service was amazing!!! We needed food for 16 people and I wasn't sure how much to order. The gentleman helped me order and made sure to point me in the right direction. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for good barbecue. Sides were great as well! read more

Sides were 4-5$ each but were worth it, they were homemade and delicious. Bbq pork and chicken were amazing. Place was very clean and not to much crap on the walls. Food came out fairly quickly too. Will definitely be back. read more

very friendly staff and the BBQ was amazing hands down the best I've had highly recommended trying it!!

I checked this place out while I was in town. The portions are huge and it's a good value. For $30 I got two sides a half rack of ribs and a piece of corn bread. The guy at the counter was respectful and nice even though he could tell I wasn't a local. The food came out fast which was a huge plus. The ribs and brisket were tender and you saw a really nice smoke ring. I couldn't decide which was better the honey bbq or their house bbq. Both were amazing. Overall it's a nice small local bbq spot. The inside is quaint and felt welcoming. I would 10/10 recommend anyone to hit this place up. read more

It was Ok. Far from terrible, not "oh my gosh!" great. The reviews as-read made this to be a religious experience, and I wanted it to be. It was not. I had the brisquet, and the chili with brisquet and some sides (forget them now). The chili with brisquet is the reason to go here, if just to try it. If you were a bbq lover, worth a shot trying. Super nice people. Perhaps it was just an off day. read more

This is the worst BBQ place we have all been to, ever. They literally reheat 100% of the food you order. We ordered the beef brisket, pulled pork, and pulled chicken platters. For $12-14 a platter and $2 for a drink we were astonished how terrible this food was. Bland, no taste, greasy, watery, fatty, and chunky would be words to describe all of this food. There's no way you make this food in 2 minutes, which is how fast we got all of our food. & the leftovers reheat really shows. & how they made baked beans gross is beyond me. I'd rather have a mcrib from McDonald's than this food. read more

TeeDawgs BBQ - American Near Me - Charles Town, West Virginia

I have gone to BBQ heaven!! As soon as we tasted our orders we ended up ordering more food to go because it was so good!! Literally EVERYTHING tasted amazing! From the pulled meats to the wings to the mac & cheese and everything in between was perfection! I also have to mention there was only one staff member handling all the customers & he handled it like a pro! He was super friendly, very helpful & attentive. Everything about TeeDawgs was awesome, highly recommend you stop by..you will not be disappointed! read more

Spent the day at Harpers Ferry on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. All of the restaraunts were really packed so decided to drive into Charles Town for lunch. We parked in front of Tee Dawgs and decided to give it a try. I wasn't sure what to expect but was definitely pleased by the great service and delicious food. We ordered a pulled pork platter with green beans and mac as well as 2 meat platter with pulled chicken, brisket, mac, green beans and corn bread. Wheew let's just say we had to ask for a to go box. Everything was delicious. Would revisit when in WVa. read more

Best BBQ in town!!! We had them cater my 56th birthday party last year!! The food is amazing!

Phenomenal bbq! Great service. Had the ribs and brisket. Try all the sauces!!! All of them!!!

We chose to try this place based on the reviews. Unfortunately they were out of the pulled pork when we visited. Instead we had the pulled chicken and brisket sandwiches and a side of Mac & cheese. The brisket was tasty and the Mac & cheese was great though we found the pulled chicken a bit salty. A selection of local beer is on tap. If in the area again, I'd pass on the chicken and try again for the pork bbq. read more

Stopped in for lunch today to take my mom out to lunch. Wife got the pulled chicken, other two orders were brisket. Tried the green beans, cabbage, and slaw. Wife said the pulled chicken was very good. The brisket, on the other hand, was ....... freaking delicious. Great smoke ring, bark, and perfectly cooked. The fat was ridiculously delicious. And they give you a ton. Better than another Frederick bbq joint that I love. The green beans were very good. The cabbage was surprisingly different. I'm not sure how it is cooked. I expect it is fried. But it has a vinegary tang to it that I loved. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If we lived nearby we would be regulars. read more

Delicious BBQ and sides - the mac and cheese and cabbage are to die for. Make sure to get some of the homemade raspberry BBQ sauce! Very friendly customer service too. read more

This was pretty mediocre bbq. I have no idea why it would get 4.5 stars on Yelp. We got the 2 meat dinner (beef brisket and pulled pork). Brisket was tastier but a tad dry. Pork had no taste. Both had to be doused in bbq sauce to be edible, and both were too sweet for my taste especially the originally). read more

The Pros: The meat was very good. We had the pork and the chicken. The cold slaw was average but good. The Cons: Most of the sides were not very appealing. The cabbage was overloaded with so much pepper I started coughing after the first bite. I think it would have been good without so much, but I couldn't really taste anything but pepper. The green beans were incredibly salty. Now I like my southern cooked beans with some salt, but this was over the top for me. The potato salad had a good flavor, but it was very soupy and most of the potatoes were very hard. Unfortunately, I threw all three away. Overall, I would definitely go back for the meat but prepare my own sides. read more

Whatever they recommend, do it!!! Brisket, baked beans, and cole slaw!!! Lordy, I thought I was home. The dry rub was excellent compliment to the beef, the beans were slightly sweet with a hint of cinnamon, and the cole slaw had a good creamy dressing. My first bite of all three I was hooked! Add in they have tap beer, hard cider, and wine! What are you waiting for???? 6/22/2019 update... Today's 1/2 rack of ribs were fabulous!!! Not sure what rub they use but the succulent porky flavor of the ribs were part of the fabulousness . That is a tough balance to achieve but this pit boss has the touch! Thank you for sharing your talents! read more

I was favorably impressed. The BBQ is very well done, especially the brisket. The prices are reasonable and the service is prompt and friendly. I'm from BBQ country, and my standards are high, so believe me when I say this one's worth the effort. The fellow who runs the place seems to be a bit of an artistic cook type. Ask what's recommended today, and take the recommendation. You will not regret it. That fifth star will probably come as this place works a few kinks out of the system. The bread was dry, and the sides were a bit average. But the BBQ itself is good anywhere. read more

A star for family feel and friendliness. Another for beer and the bar setup. A third for, effort I guess I wanted so much more from this place but the food is average at best. I saw the grills smoking in back but the food missed any smoke-y bbq flavor, sauces were ok, sides were disappointing. read more

Excellent ribs and very good pulled pork! My family orders carry out orders from here all the time and we love their food. TeeDawgs is a newer family run business that makes awesome homemade food. Meat is their specialty and they are very good at it. The owner use to own a food truck in this area and now has a brick and mortar store. They are only open on weekends for now, but they will eventually be expanding their hours. The interior isn't much to look at, but the food speaks for itself. read more

Good BBQ. They had run out of several things before we got there but that is to be expected at a smaller shop. The staff were all super nice and helpful. The pulled chicken was my favorite, didn't NEED sauce since it had great flavor on its own, sauces put it over the top. Pulled pork was good too. Cornbread was on point and I'm a tough cornbread critic. Will be back! read more

Lived in Texas for over 10 years and just moved to WV for work. I thought I'd pop in to try this barbecue joint. I ordered a pork sandwich platter and some candied bacon with a fountain drink for an outrageous price. This is probably the worst barbecue I've ever eaten in my life. Not even the sauces could help hide the bland, chewy food. Whoever the have cooking in the kitchen should be fired. First and last time here for sure! read more

Brisket is really good. They used to give you more but it's seems like they cut back on how much they give you.

The best BBQ place in the area!!! I love their brisket and chili with homemade corn muffins. The staff is absolutely fabulous and treats everyone like family. I highly recommend Tee Dawgs to anyone asking for BBQ. read more

Probably the best hot dogs and hamburgers on amazing bread in the area!

I would say this is the best BBQ I have ever tried in Harper's Ferry area. At first I thought the price was a bit high, but once I saw the really generous portions, the price was actually very reasonable. We tried brisket and pulled pork, and both were excellent. The brisket was thick, soft, and juicy. The pulled pork was smokey and delicious. I felt like the meats were so good that we did not need the sauce. We had potato salad and mac and cheese as sides. While they were good, we had them better somewhere else, but just the meats were so worth it. This place really deserves 5 stars! read more

After a great hike this place showed up #1 we decided to give them a try. Let me say. We ordered our food for 2 adults and we received enough food for 6 people. It was sooooo much food and it was delicious. We are planning to go back as the leaves change and this area is simply gorgeous in the fall. read more

Had an awesome barbecue meal here. Also have a great beer selection and great service. They have something like 12 different barbecue sauces that were all homemade and tasted absolutely amazing. Exceeded my expectations. read more
