We agreed they were definitely worth the $30ish tab for 2 they would have been if we weren't guests of the inn. The dinner we had was good, but not amazing. There was only one choice available for the first two courses, and two for the main course. We don't eat pork so we both had scallops for dinner. The first two courses (a gazpacho and shrimp+grits kind of deal) were both good, but it was really the scallops that won us over; they were delicious. The cheese plate for dessert had 1 kind of cheese, and we were disappointed there were no dessert options involving chocolate. Overall, we had a nice meal, but didn't really think it warranted the $250 we spent.

Two days later, I checked my bank account and noticed a fraudulent charge totaling $46.96. After contacting management, I was sent a copy of the receipt showing a $30 tip added and a signature that was not mine. I did not authorize a $30 tip or sign that receipt. Management advised me to go through the dispute process with my bank because the tip would need to be retrieved through payroll. Unfortunately, my bank was unable to dispute the charge because it was under $50. I asked management about another way to resolve the issue and never received a response, so now I'm stuck with the charge. Really disappointing situation overall. Just be careful checking your bank statements after visiting.

The food came excellent! Thank you to the kitchen!! We placed the order and the tuna steak came out excellent! However the burger was stupid raw!!!! I asked to not get another since our children had eaten their food already and they enjoyed it! Thank you once again to the kitchen!! The evening was beautiful, the restaurant was as quaint as you would expect!! The tuna was cooked PERFECT! Thank you to the kitchen staff!!! I asked for the check and paid it ....(despite the fact that the waiter disappeared for over 15 mins and I had to walk to the bar to ask for it!!) Left a tip and then proceeded to leave the restaurant and head to our car since both kids hadn't slept and it was past 8 pm (when I overheard the following...) Once again the server was kind and charismatic despite ignoring us in an empty restaurant where she had 3 tables when we arrived and two when we left. As we were walking out of the restaurant, the server, had the stones to show my signed check, with a 10% tip, as was warranted after ignoring us, serving me raw food and not coming back for along time.... (Sorry kitchen but the raw burger was on you for this one!) And she, had the gall to brag to another table of patrons, showing the receipt in my wife's face, that were taking away from her money, when she provided poor service!! I wouldn't dream of having her fired, hence the reason I'll never name her. " she might have had a bad day!", BUT I want her to learn a lesson about treating every customer with respect! My wife and kids didn't deserve a poor experience for our first time in your restaurant! Be kind. Be loving and understanding! Everyone can have hardships in life, as we all do, but if you're in this industry, be kind, be watchful and give a care about your job!! You never know the negative impact you can leave for fellow strangers, especially little children that enjoyed Harper's Ferry for the first time! Overall, the restaurant is excellent, food is excellent and the vibe is 8/10!

Walking past the tables I noticed several menu choices in the plates and microwaved steamed veggies and overpriced $40 steak for the same quality you'd get at a chain is what I saw....
