Great ambience and service. The coffee and food was also very good, especially the French toast. The fries were crispy and my philly cheesesteak was more a fajita cheesesteak than a philly but it was still good.

Ted's is a great spot for afternoon brunch. Love the outdoor seating. Food is tasty. Service was a bit slow because they were short a servicer but it wasn't too bad. Outdoor seating is a definite plus on a beautiful day. Decor is simple

There are two Teds locations a few minutes away from one another. This is the one right across from the canal. We found a table inside just off the street almost immediately. But the wait to order was lengthy, as was the wait for drinks and food. And once the food came out, no one ever came by at all to see if we would like anything else. Aside from issues with service, the food was decent. Croque Madame was perfectly cooked, and the donut & chicken was interesting - crispy karaage chicken with not too sweet homemade plain donuts with a sweet chili syrup on the side. Takes cards, but keep in mind how much time this will take out of your day of playing tourist.

We decided to check out Teds for a late brunch upon our arrival in Utretch. They have two other locations (Amsterdam and The Hague). We dropped in on a Thursday (around noon). Everyone was sitting outside to enjoy the canal and sunshine. Service is solid and you can even help yourself to water inside. The menu consists of eggs, clubs, sweet favourites, sandwiches, salads, combos and sweets & snacks. We stuck with the eggs options. - Espresso 'n tonic (€4,50) - single shot of espresso topped with elderflower tonic. B liked it. - Eggs benedict (€8,50) - poached eggs with ham and hollandaise sauce served with a croissant. Croissant was better than expected. Eggs were nicely poached and oozy. A little on the small side portion wise. - Triple omega (€9,50) - poached eggs, avocado and salmon served on whole wheat sourdough toast. Again, poached eggs were excellent. Salmon was good but we got a few oddly hard pieces of avocado. I didn't think the bread was ideal as it wasn't warmed or toasted up. Card payment only. Come here for the chill relaxing vibes and to sit by the canal. 3.5 stars.

Great brunch stop. Eclectic decor paired with breakfast food done right! Would absolutely visit here again.

Ted's is a cozy little brunch place in the center of Utrecht that we visited on a day trip. I loved the interior - with the white brick walls, cute decor, and multiple tiny rooms, it had quite the Instagrammable vibe - and the place was busy for brunch! We first got drink orders and I got the lemon and ginger tea, which came with an adorable tiny brownie bite on the saucer. Our dishes took a while to come and was mediocre in my opinion - I ordered poached eggs with whole wheat bread, and added on smoked salmon and spinach. The bread wasn't quite toasted, the poached eggs were cold (and cold runny yolk is just not appealing), and the spinach was raw which I found strange. The smoked salmon was delicious as it always is. Ted's was aesthetically pleasing place to chat for a few hours, but the food was not a memorable part of that.

Yes! KEEK! YES!!!!…read more KEEK brings the happy like you wouldn't believe! I am definitely in love with their cheese "scone" sandwich filled with seasonal grilled vegetables and pesto, yum. By no means is it a scone my friends, but it makes one hell of a delicious sandwich! Le husband had a regular sandwich with grilled Serrano ham, mozzarella and pesto with a cup of jasmine tea and I that wonderful grilled vegetable sandwich with a glass of hot chocolate. First of all, KEEK is an organic eatery but not just any organic eatery; one that truly cares about amazing quality in their products. Their tea is top notch and their hot chocolate (which I suspect they make themselves before service) is seriously the best pre-made hot chocolate I have ever had. So good! The next thing they do to ensure they have the best product is make everything from scratch in their own kitchen. Everything. Well, besides the bread for the sandwiches, they order those daily at another favourite of mine: de Veldkeuken. Can't blame them, I wouldn't want to stay up all night just for one menu item either and Veldkeuken is really good at baking bread. Back to KEEK. About a minute's walk from this location, you have Keuken van KEEK where you can get some simpler sandwiches and all of their baked goods to go. Yum, RUN! You won't be able to get the grilled vegetable sandwich from the to-go location which is a shame, but make sure you try it. So garlicky, so sweet, so delicious! I will probably have "adult dreams" about this sandwich for the next few weeks... Sorry, tmi. As for the vibe here, the interior is really nice, especially the "tea room" in the back which is so serene and full of light. Great for a happy afternoon catching up with friends. The front room is a bit more artsy and that shows in the crowd. I tend to ignore the people around me if the food is good enough to focus on, but le husband felt a bit out of place with some of the other customers which were: hippies, old people and loudly conversing women. Of which the first two were the most bothersome, I agreed on that but like I said, if the food is great, I don't give a shit who else is there. You could have probably placed my in-laws at the table behind me and I would have never noticed. So KEEK. I highly recommend it and I will definitely be back asap!

Thus not only the street but also the café is full of history. Although the athmosphere is not that stunning, the menue definately is. I really enjoyed my breakfast and the friendly stuff who made my stay a great experience.

They have a bakery counter if you need things to take away. The dining room is located mostly in the cozy kelder that has windows looking out to a gracht that's adjacent. A group of five came hungry, and we chose high tea, since it's closest thing to brunch you can find. There are several different high tea options on the menu with focus on sweet, savory, or everything ranging from €20-30. There is also a good selection of a la carte items for €5-10. We were overwhelmed with an attack of food and tea. The food started with a scone, jam, and clotted cream course served with two giant pots of tea. Then we continued along (see my picture) and were served a tower of two plates of small sandwiches (five different varieties), bowls of soup, various kinds of quiche, and a plate of sweets, chocolates, and tartes. Two more pots of tea showed up with the main course and they brought one more at the end as a palate cleanser. Five pots of tea total. Don't miss the Lapsang tea. Impressive - fresh food made from scratch and fun staff with good service. Casual atmosphere. See you there for high tea sometime!

Also: polarbröd! What a delightful and delicious flatbread, just one word for it: yum! Now seriously, they have some interesting sandwiches here which are mostly going to be much hartier than any other sandwich you'll find around here. The Dutch still have not figured out the sandwich game! Shame. However at Broodnodig, with their Scandinavian vibe, they seem to be present and in the sandwich race. They're thinking outside the slice and offering meals piled on to a sandwich yet not in such portions that you feel intimidated and fear you'll never be able to finish it. However I did need help finishing my sweet potato and hummus get up last time while le husband had no problem finishing his barbecue chicken deal and the rest of my sandwich. Drinks are also sometimes quirky and comforting like orange or mint hot chocolate in winter and oj&buttermilk (as one drink!) in summer. I just really like coming here to be surprised by their menu, delighted by the amount of vegetarian options and cheered up by the sometimes random conversations by the staff that you can butt in on. We've discussed everything from "why does this sandwich not come on spelt anyway? It's much better" to "what is this song stuck in my head?". Answer to the latter, it was Smoke on the Water. So, you feel like a decent lunch? Hearty, delicious and not even really unhealthy? Or maybe the opposite: pastries galore? COFFEE!!!! ? Give Broodnodig a try, you're bound to love it!
