I read the reviews and thought this would be a good spot for lunch. I was told I could sit anywhere so I wandered down stairs to sit in a lovely spot overlooking the canal. I had a book with me, which was lucky as it took a long time for the girl to come take my order. I mostly was put off by the fact when I arrived no one was around and the tables who arrived after me were served first. I don't speak Dutch but opted for the vegetarian quiche as I could read that. I didn't feel like my server would have answered any questions about the menu so I thought after 15 minutes of waiting to order, quiche would be nice. It arrived and was next to a lovely green salad, with pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. I tried the quiche and it did not taste like a quiche to me. It tasted like over cooked, reheated cheese. With some grated carrots and a soggy pastry. I love quiche, but nothing about this slice was like a quiche. No obvious fluffy eggs or vegetables, just some walnuts and lots of over baked cheese. The salad was nice, but no dressing. It also didn't seem entirely fresh. I was so disappointed as the reviews were raving for this place. It was €6.50 for the quiche, and I felt nothing on my plate was tasty. Maybe it is better when busier or only for dessert, but I was not impressed. The service I can overlook, but the poor quality of the food I cannot. Great location, and setting, but food itself was so disappointing. I'd like to say I would go back but only for cake. read more
