I found myself at Teddy's for the first time yesterday to catch the NCAA final championship game. It never got too crowded and I liked the crowd that was there. No rowdy students or creepy people like you would find at U-District bars. They have nice TV's, two pool tables, and a very sweet bartender. Drink prices are fair. My favorite part - they don't have a kitchen so YOU CAN BRING YOUR OWN FOOD to eat. Score! We got takeout from a nearby place. The seats are wooden and can get uncomfortable, but granted, I was also sitting for almost an hour. Great spot to catch a game and grab a drink! read more

Teddy's is a low-key, some might say divey, easy going bar. I wouldn't call it a true dive bar, myself. Teddys definitely has a small town kick back feel to it in a big city. The staff is awesome, always remember you, & are always asking how you are. They serve THE BEST bloody Marys in Seattle HANDS DOWN. You WILL not be disappointed. They also make awesome greyhounds with fresh squeezed juice. The back patio is great too. Has a ping pong table and enough room for a good group of people to sit around in the sun and enjoy a brew. I've loved Teddy's for years. It's not that complicated. They have some beer, they have some tv's with sports, they have a pool table and ping pong, they have an outside patio. Sometimes it's full of great people, and sometimes you get a jerk or two in there. Depends on the night. The staff have always been super nice. My favorite summer activity is sitting out on the patio (by myself), drinking a beer, and eating a burger from Rain City that the bartender has ordered for me and delivered to my table in a brown paper bag. One small notch above being a dive bar - Dive bar plus? Restrooms small, a little beat up, but passably clean and functional. About 5 TVs, showing various games. They have a good satellite package. But this is not a hard core sports bar, many of the seats don't feature particularly good views of any of the TVs. Bartenders are efficient, friendly, and serve drinks without drama and without the all-too-common, I'll-get-to-you-when-I-get-to-you, attitude. Drink prices quite reasonable. Animated but harmless conversations often occur among the bar stool occupants. Teddy's has an arrangement with a nearby burger place, you can order food to be delivered to you. Really greasy food mostly, of the sort most places have stopped serving since Saturated Fat became the latest thing to be avoided. There are at least 2 pool tables. There might also be something out the back door, I've never gone out there, as that is where the smokers go. A few hipsters populate the place, but no so many as to be annoying. read more

Here's the deal... I was hesitant to review this place because it would be like reviewing my own mother...but you know... I'm here everyday. Or at least 4 nights a week. For reals... Here's why... The staff is rad. The boys here are great. They take care of me. Always put up with my weird requests ( "Can you check the bathroom? It smells like some one had a baby in there?" "More Gogol Bordello?" "Only Bon Jovi and Ac/dc on my birthday!!!") And are just sweet as pie It's a few blocks from my house If you like mixed drinks, this is the place. All the citrus juice is fresh squeezed. It might take a bit longer, but trust me, that margarita or whiskey sour is going to rock and the rad patio. Smoking outside (if you are into that) sitting with your buddies, drinking, and maybe some ping pong I have a theory that bars with carpet are where its at. Teddy's has been like Cheers to me for the past year since I've been living in the area, although I used to come from South Lake Union just for their whiskey sours. Dan is wonderful, friendly and funny, and even when the bar is slammed I can depend on him or Keith to serve me quickly. They're genuine and remember you, your drinks, and sometimes even the burger you like from Rain City. It gets pretty packed and hard to find a table when a game is on, but once it's over you can find a seat, and probably someone to challenge to a game of pool. read more

A great place to go and chill, play some pool or darts. They also have ping pong out back that can get some heated games going on. It's a dark, divey type bar but the wait staff is so ridiculously nice and the owner and main bar tender are probably two of my favorite bar tenders ever. The only thing I'd change about this bar is bigger tv's, but this is easily one of my top 5 favorite bars. The food is ordered from rain city burgers which is probably the best burgers north of the cut, but because of that the food isn't open as long as some pubs and the variety is pretty limited. read more

Stop #2 on my Roosevelt pub crawl and I had no idea that Teddy's was such a great sports bar- GO DAWGS! WOOF WOOF WOOF!!! Thought it was ingenius of staff to cover their pool tables with brown tarps to avoid spillages on the felt. There will be no pool being played that night, for it's March madness afterall. Teddy's is nice. I haven't been there in a while but I remember them having ping-pong in the back area. Maybe things have changed, I'll update soon. I used to come here a lot when I lived in the U-district. I always liked it but my heart belongs to the Monkey Pub down Roosevelt and 53rd where you can bring food to eat from other places. Teddy's is a good place to go, don't get me wrong. Bikers get together to park their choppers all along 65th once a month or every Thursday, I forget. That's a cool site to see. I have never had a bad experience at Teddy's. The owner and the guys who work this place are friendly, accommodating, and fun to be around. They are always willing to put your team on one of their TVs and have delicious drinks. Generally good beer on tap and very reasonable prices. They don't serve food, but feel free to bring in whatever you like - I hosted an alumni event here for my alma matter, and I called beforehand to make sure it was ok but they let me bring a meat/cheese platter and veggie tray for my group. They gave us a large table and put the game we wanted to see on the big screen. They have some games in the back including big buck hunter and that golf game. They have 2 pool tables and $0.50 games. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often, I highly recommend visiting! read more

An unpretentious and welcoming little dive bar with pool tables, arcade games and a few TVs. Drinks are reasonably priced and you can order Rain City burgers directly to your table! Though, the real attraction here is their secret garden patio in the back. Hedges line the perimeter of the patio giving you a sense of seclusion from the city, and letting you enjoy conversation and beers with others. One of the best Maker's sours I've had in Seattle! They squeeze all the juices right in front of you, no sour mix here. Highly skilled bar tenders and a reasonable beer selection. Come during summer and sit outside on the spacious deck for sun and ping pong. Or just watch drunks chase the bouncing ball around. Pool tables and a large back patio with a ping pong table. They have an older golden tee machine, megatouch and some variety of buck hunter arcade game. These are sandwiched in the hall next to the bathrooms and on the way outside, so I'd imagine its a nightmare playing when there are more people in the bar. Overall a decent neighbourhood bar. After having walked past Teddy's countless times without ever really having looked inside, let alone stepped on in, I had started to form an impression of the place by its slightly aging facade and assortment of glowing neon lights alone. Big mistake. I met up with several friends there to catch some drinks after work and I was delighted with what I found inside. Big ceilings, decent background music but not too loud, plenty of TVs, pool, darts, plenty of beers on tap, friendly service and not super busy. I made it there to see the USA-Finland Olympic hockey game. The Long Islands (shaken, not stirred) were great-it took the 2nd for me to notice, but that was the point-the best thing was the buzz was not debilitating, but it stayed with me all the way home (2 bus trips). I tend to 'sober up' at the speed of light, so the lingering feel of contentment impresssed me. OK, back to Teddy's: I brought in a burger from the stand on the next block (you can bring food in from other places) and it is a friendly tavern. I love love this bar. It was my standard drinking hole when I was an Undergrad at the UW living down the street and it resurfaced in my life when I moved back to Ravenna to go to grad school at the UW. Generally, I don't like sports bars (as I don't like sports), but Teddy's is only kind of a sports bar. Really, it's a neighborhood bar that also has a few TVs and shows sports for people who want to watch them. What makes Teddy's so great? 1. The service. The owner (Dan) is one of the nicest bartenders and bar owners you will ever meet. You'll know who he is by his ever present shorts (even in below zero weather) and his smile. He and the other bartenders are quick, know their drinks and are very attentive even when the bar gets packed. That is why my wife and I hired them to bar tend my wedding (which they kicked ass at). 2. The drinks. They freshly squeeze their juices for mixed drinks and have regularly rotating taps (usually the IPA). I generally don't drink whiskey sours, except at Teddy's. The fresh juice is top notch. 3. The Porch. Teddy's has one of the largest outdoor seating areas I've seen at a neighborhood pub. It's larger than Linda's on Capitol Hill and HAS PING PONG TABLES. The only downside is that it's generally filled with cigarette smoke, which makes the idea of sitting outside only OK. But, the potential is there. So, there you have it. Teddy's. A+++ read more

I love Teddy's.... I started going there about 4 years ago and since then have moved to Lynnwood... there is no bar that compares, in my opinion... i still go there quite freequently since the move and i don't see myself ever stopping... the owner and bartenders are amazingly nice and i have become friends with a few.... It's nice to know a place where you can take a book to read and drink a beer without ever feeling wierd.... I love me some teddy's..... I think I'll go tomorrow... Teddy's is certainly the best bar in it's neighborhood. There's always enough people to socialize with, but you can always find a seat, and usually work your way into a pool table. But the real party is usually outside, with the ping pong table (gotta love ping pong). TEDDY'S MAKES THE BEST WHISKEY SOURS!!! There, I said it. And they have super friendly bartenders. Gotta be one of my favortite bars in Seattle. Only complaint is that it's sometimes a little stinky, but you stop noticing after one or two drinks. read more

Teddy's is a very interesting place to go to drink. It's usually not that crowded at night, but that's okay. They seem to always have interesting drink specials, like Long Island iced teas made with fresh fruits squeezed at the counter. They don't have any food, but they let you bring in food from rain city burgers across the street. I've been here many times during the early evening and staying until late at night. You can play darts or pool, or just people watch. There are a lot of UW students that go here to drink since its so close to campus and it's so cheap. Parking is kind of an issue, especially since its only street parking and there's construction on 65th. This is a great neighborhood dive bar if you live nearby and can make the walk. read more

Teddy's is near my apartment so I've gone a number of times over the past two years. It's a great place to watch a game or hang out on the back patio during a casual, warm evening. It's definitely not the fanciest place but it's not a total dive either. Usually there are mostly 20-30somethings there. The staff is always kind and attentive. In response to Vera S., I was there the night you showed up, Your Highness. The pong list is simple. Whoever is next on the list can play the winners or play with your own crew. A decent warm up and one game if others are waiting. After you play you sign up again and wait your turn. Each player can pick a partner in doubles, which means several people can play twice before it becomes your turn. The management knows some of the regulars assist with the list to make sure everyone gets their turn and a fair time . I believe that we looked for you when it was your turn and when you finally returned to the patio you took several turns in a row on the table and scolded us with a nasty attitude when we explained the guidelines of the list and what had occurred. Teddy's is a great place to watch or play outdoor ping pong on the patio with a chill crowd of all ages, and have a nice brew or fresh made cocktail (and thanks for recommending the Zoo: Princess Alert, many of us play there as well). read more
