(Heart) My husband and I were looking forward to having breakfast today but it didn't happen bc of our schedule, so the fact that our lunch experience was excellent, well that was just sweet. Came in on Sunday during lunch. The place had some people enjoying a cold beer and eating at the bar and some were on the other side of the room. After checking the entire place out, decided to eat bear the bar by the window and enjoy the view. We were greeted by a sweet and kind smile from a little child, that just warmed our hearts as it was very genuine and heartfelt. My husband and I each ordered the Tecumseh Brewing Company Burger known as the TBC on a challah bread, accompanied by Caroline's onions, the famous TBC Bear Cheese, candied bacon hot and fresh! Which did not disappoint and it delivered all of my beefy burger cravings and satisfaction. They also come with a good portion of their chips and a dipping cream sauce. We decided to try Poppi cold drink for the first time. We both have been eyeballing them at the grocery store for a while now and boy are we glad we tried them. I even mixed mine. He had the strawberry and I have the ginger lime and inhaled it with half of his Strawberry, you can thank me later (wink).... I was initially impressed with the expanded menu, and beer offerings. However, all of the beers and seltzer that we tried was just okay: there wasn't much flavor, and left a lot to be desired. We ordered all different kinds of food, but I enjoyed their Cuban sandwich with chips, and a side of onion dip. The service was just okay, the waitress seemed to be distracted or overwhelmed, had to be asked multiple times to bring items to the table, did not go above and beyond. I liked a lot of what this place is doing. They seem to have a strong and steady following so it can be really busy. Expect a short wait. My highlight of my visit was the black bean veggie nachos. I would like to give this place a neutral (ish) 3 out of 5 stars. The cider is phenomenal and the food is also comparable. However, the staff/service could use a huge amount of work. The woman (I wish I had her name..) that has long, red hair.. she's a waitress. After numerous times having her serve us, we've never had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately we have had to pull another server to order food and drinks while being seated for over 15-20 minutes. I'm disappointed because this is a great, local spot but am somehow always leaving dissatisfied with my overall experience due to the unpleasant staff. If you see the Truck D and Flavor flav food truck, make a visit. The burritos are filling and delicious. I chose the beans and no avocado salsa as I have some reflux. It is a popular place to be but it is completely worth it. The service is efficient and the guys are so appreciative of the business. There was fire pit type warmers as it was a chilly morning. Good beer most of the time. I prefer reds, porters or stouts and usually I'm lucky to find one. When they do have them I've been pleased. Lately they seem to have more ipas and sours and not many of my preferred choices. They do have the Best burgers around for sure! I love the black and bleu burger the most. It is juicy and delicious with carmelized onions and blue cheese. The bun is delicious as well. We were a little put off walking in, seeing that there is no table service, and two separate dining rooms. We took a high top in the bar area, as there were loud children in the other room. The menu is great. There was a nice array of entrees, burgers, appetizers and salads that promised exotic flavors. I had the Mahi Mahi tacos with loaded tots. Turned out the 'blackened Mahi Mahi' was a pre-formed rectangle of a chunk, grilled, and cut into three bar-shaped hunks, then covered with pineapple salsa and a heavily creamed slaw. Some of the tots were crispy but clearly had been sitting on the plate, waiting to be finished/served, as the cheese sauce was already soaked in, or the tots were added on top of the cheese. I couldn't tell which. Good portion, but not worth $5 up charge. In order to actually eat the tacos, I had to scrape off most of the creamy slaw. The flavor was good but all that cold stuff on the fish made the tacos cold upon arrival. I was able to eat the first one before the shell fell apart. The second shell was a goner. I did the same scrape to the second but had to concede to using a fork to finish the dish. The intention of the dish was spot on, the execution was awful. I wouldn't have ordered it if I knew that these were pre-formed processed fish rectangles. When blackened Mahi Mahi is on the menu, pieces of flaky fish is expected, not fish bars buried in goop. If it was blackened, there was no way to tell. My husband had the shaved sirloin nachos. He would have opted for the salsa on the side, as it made the chip soggy immediately and was way too much, but the flavors and steak were excellent. The fresh jalapenos, fresh guacamole, and cheese sauce really made for an excellent pile of nachos. Half way through our meal, I realized this place skews towards a rasta/reggae theme. From the spices, merch color schemes, and music. The beer flight was four small pours of what was offered. The root beer was the most disappointing. I was really hoping it would be stellar. The beers were okay. Small selection but they hit all the major markets. Good for groups, not for kids. Check the wall of Merch for some interesting gifts. They do offer a mug club for die-hard beer drinkers, if you find yourself really digging the brewery. Plenty of street parking or there is a shared parking lot in back. read more

After visiting a family member in town we were looking for a beer and a bite to eat. Not being from around here I thought I'll drive to Jolly Pumpkin in Ann Arbor. I punched it up in the GPS and it was farther away than I thought. I was hungry so I jumped on Yelp. Turns out there is a place nearby, Tecumseh Brewing Company. We sat down and were awed by the large beer menu, there must have been a dozen beers pouring. So when in doubt, order a sampler. Kyle gave us some pointers and we selected a few. Every beer we sampled was good, some odd but exactly as advertised. The Tropical Alley-oop ended up being the one I wanted more of the most. It just reeked of fresh fruit and citrusy hops. The food was off the chain too. I had the cuban sandwich with tots and couldn't have been happier. The ham was rich, the mustard was perfect and the pickle was delicious. This symphony of ingredients coupled with a few others and a hearty bun made for a great samich. My wife had the special which was yellow fin tuna tacos which were amazing from the bite I had. What a fun place! When we walked up they looked closed and there was a sign about outdoor dining. So I thought we were going to have to sit outside. Now it was a beautiful bday, but I still didn't want to have to sit outside. However, there were tables in the back with a few patrons there. This place is unique in that you go up to the counter to order your beer and food. I was disappointed to see there were no browns or ambers on the list, but I got excited about a porter. Until I saw it was 9.3% ABV. That would have left me comatose. Haha. I ended up with a stout and he got a sour. I didn't think I would like the sour as I usually don't. However, this was super good! We decided to get a second beer so we thought food would be a good idea. They have a limited menu. I was unsure about nachos but holy smokes these were delicious. We gobbled them up quickly! Can't go wrong with it. The beers were tasty, but next time I'll likely do a flight so I can find which one is my favorite. I love peach flavors so I chose the peach Hefeweizen. The flavors were a little strange together and it definitely wasn't a beer you chug, but it was still refreshing. The bar tabletop was made of old bowling alley floor and the vibe was super hometown. Stopped in for lunch at the advice of a friend. I ordered the steak nacho's and the person I was with ordered a burger with bacon. Okay the burger was a little greasy, but amazing (hence the 4 stars greasy, very greasy) but again very good. The nacho's could have used more seasoning in the meat but very good. It is one of the only times I have ever ran out of chips before running out of toppings. I would order these again, but next time I would try a different meat topping and remember to remove Jalapenos, since I am not a huge fan. read more

It's good to be visiting the rents from out of town and having a nice local place to go to. Tecumseh Brewing Co. is a breath of fresh air to the downtown area. It has been here now almost 4 years. It's a casual place to get one of their beers, chill, and feel at home. You can't hang out, chat, eat, or even play games. It is essentially 2 rooms. The main bar area and then the dining area. The beer is ALWAYS good and plenty of variety is available. I love how they bring in items from local stores around. It is pub service. So you go to the bar, order, and they bring it to you. The people are friendly and helpful. The food is a bit shakey depending on what you get. Mac and cheese awesome!!!! The dips with all the dippers is ok. The baguette is quite greasy. The nachos are ok. The chicken is a bit unappetizing. The black bean corn salsa is delicious. There is plenty of parking on the street in front of the parking lot in back. Heard a bit of buzz about this place recently, so it became an excuse for a day trip to Tecumseh. Ordered a 4 beer sample flight with Hefeweizen, Rocket IPA, Major Reese imperial golden, and the Long black train black IPA. They were all great--the Hefeweizen is one of the most flavorful I've had, and I ended up ordering a pint of it later. Long black train had a near-perfect balance of roast and hops, and the Rocket was solid. Major Reese's was interesing: a full bodied golden flavored with peanut butter. It actually had a distinct caramel taste to me. I would gladly order one if I was in the mood for a dessert beer. TBC is divided into bar and dining areas. Not a huge space, and in the middle of a Sunday afternoon the bar area was full. But, the place is pleasantly appointed, with lots of warm, light wood and sleek black tables. There's a sofa too if you're in mood to cozy up with your companions. We didn't try the food offerings but will certainly return to do so. read more

Took a little motorcycle ride from Yspi to Tecumseh via the Ridge Highway. Nice ride!! And Tecumseh Brewing Company was a tasty spot to wet our whistles before heading back. (Just one short one each, with food, because we do not endorse drinking and driving two wheels or four) Beer menu changes so no need to tell you what we drank, but there seems to be an ongoing good selection to suit a variety of beer palates. What we had paired great with a Mediterrean Garden sandwich and a Cuban. Mediterrean was the perfect blend of seasonings, summer fresh veggies and crunchy bread. We opted to cool off under the a/c inside but there are a few tables outside if that's your preference. Located on the main drag, you can also hit up the neighboring antique shops on your visit before or after for even more diwntown fun. Tecumseh is a town with a lot of history and if the exposed brick walls of this place could talk, I'd bet they'd have some tales to tell. read more

It was a beautiful fall day and after doing the trails with the dog pal at Hidden Lake Gardens, I was in search of a good craft IPA and something good to eat. This dog friendly, brew friendly place came up in my search and I headed their way. I must have come at a busy time as there was a long line to put in an order but I met so many friendly people willing to hold on to the pooch while I put in my food order and get my beer. I love a good New England style IPA and they had one that really fit the bill, it was delicious. The menu is a bar menu and therefore limited but my classic burger was flavorful, delicious with lots of good stuff thrown at it to make it especially yummy and I optioned up for the side salad a few bucks extra. I had the bleu cheese dressing which tasted homemade, so creamy, it really made the salad special. All the folks working the place were pleasant and accommodating, it was a great vibe.
