We paid him $150 for his 3 hours of earnest attempts. He consulted with another computer repair company, and they agreed with his diagnosis - it was the "worst possible scenario" as far as complexity, they all said. And btw, they had already "opened" the drive, which is not helpful to the next tier of repairers. We read about the "HAZMT" suits guys in Clean Rooms who might charge $2,500 for this type of data recovery. And worst of all, most data recovery companies will only give you a broad window of a cost estimate. With this bleak scenario, you can imagine how the small business in rural Georgia who rescued me at a fraction of the feared cost seemed like a shining knight on a white stallion! David Blizzard and his family run a small data recovery business. Their website states exactly what the repair cost will be. For my 1 Tb external hard drive, it was $475, including return shipping. They recovered every single file, over 122,000 of them. Generations of pictures and documents were all retrieved. I've learned my painful lesson. My husband and I invested in a solid-state hard drive, plus we've started using a cloud-based automatic back-up. (I'm using two backup sources.) God was merciful to me in my ignorance and carelessness. I suspect our toddler-age granddaughter dealt my original hard drive the final blow, and silly me didn't realize how dangerous that was to the drive.

From email correspondence, to packaging/shipping, and recovery, Blizzard Data Recovery was extremely responsive, helpful, and professional every step of the way. There are a lot of scams in the world of data recovery, but Blizzard is so knowledgable and trustworthy. They are very transparent about the costs and process. They answered my many questions and never made me feel pressured me to buy. They even checked in on me later to make sure everything went smoothly after I received my data back. It's evident that Blizzard truly cares for their customers and the quality of their service. I will recommend them until the end of time!

I also have a Dell that I didn't think was worth fixing, but he told me differently. He replaced a few parts worth 75.00 and the computer is working well. The same day, I requested a return and sent the item in the original packaging with the new tracking label affixed. USPS tracking says the package arrived at the receiving post office on Oct 9, only to see the post office was unable to deliver the package on Oct 10 becuase the business was closed. It's now been 11 days since my return arrived at their local post office without being delivered. I assumed maybe there was an issue with USPS so I filed a 'Missing Mail' request yesterday. This morning I received a call from a very polite Postmaster in Chattanooga who informed me they have tried delivering my package every day since it arrived there but the business is never open! I was told it's "open maybe 5% of the time we try to deliver mail" and that the post office "has a whole bin of packages for them" but that "nobody is ever at the location." After hearing from the Postmaster I tried to call the location using the number posted on their website - only to have it ring out to "Sorry. The mailbox is full and there is not enough space to leave a message. Thank you for using the voice messaging server. Goodbye." I've been forced to open a case with eBay to try and get my refund since the business address is never open to receive their mail.
