This family run business is doing it the right way and deserves your business. Anyone who has ever lost a hard drive knows that when you send it in to be recovered, the phone rings and the price is always a shock. For my Western Digital 1 TB My Book Live drive, I was quoted by a data recovery business in 2017 at $2800. In 2019 I was quoted $1900 from another company. So, I told booth companies to just return the drive to me. The day after I was quoted $2800 in 2017, they called me back to lower the offer to $2000. This only upset me as why was the price $800 more the day before? I felt gouged and said, "no way, return it to me" and I could only hope to one day see data recovery rates fall or find an honest company.
I say this because my drive contained two important things to me. Bitcoin wallets (with unknown contents) and many, many private and personal images and videos of my wife and I, including wedding and Honeymoon photos. So, I knew that it was possible that I was being told a high price once the data recovery personnel saw the contents of my drive but how would I ever prove that?
Well, thanks to David, his small business and his family who works with him, I think I realized that more than likely that is exactly what was going on. Early in 2021, I remembered the drive again sitting in my closet and so I searched online for flat rate data recovery and stumbled up a Yelp review for Blizzard. It seemed to indicate that this company charged a flat rate for data recovery. I then went to the website blizzarddr.com where I was totally surprised to see the following words. "We make data recovery affordable! Flat-rate data recovery prices. No open-end pricing like the other guys. We have an honest "no data, no charge" policy, and we don't charge for parts."
Could this be true? No way right? His pricing was $395 for normal jobs and $495 for more difficult tasks that include clean rooms and specialized tools. I called David and told him what I had and he said send it in. So, I took the chance and sent it to him in Georgia. When it arrived, he emailed me to tell me he received it and told me in a week he would email me and show me a file list of what he could recover. And sure enough a week later I received an email saying they were able to recover the drive. Wow! I checked the link he provided and I got to see all the files and folder names that he was able to recover. It was all there! Everything I was looking for. I replied to the email that I was ready to pay and a moment later came the invoice for $495.
I gladly paid and a few days later my new 1TB drive arrived. Yes, it came recovered on a brand new drive that I didn't even have to pay extra for. David also paid for the return shipping. The drive has all the files I was looking for, all the videos and images are perfectly fine, no errors or problems. Only problem is that the bitcoin wallets were ones I did have elsewhere and were long ago swept and emptied. So, not a millionaire but I have never been happier with a company.
Family owned and operated and doing things the right way. Not cheating customers in the least. Instead, providing excellent customer service and doing an amazing job. Please give Dave your business. I will never go elsewhere until the end of time. I will recommend to family and friends and scream this company's name from the roof tops because this is how the world should work. The good people like David and his family, they deserve to be rich. I'm sure they aren't however because they treat their clients like friends. They don't gouge. They provide a service at a price that probably allows them a roof, to eat and maybe a vacation every now and again. Please support this fantastic and amazing family run operation.
