They took their car in and Dustin found that the drivers side rear break needed replacement. He did it at a reasonable price. They also asked him to take a look at the drivers front head lamp and panel (it's been loose). He took off the front tire to access (and this is where the problem starts). When the tire was replaced the lug nuts weren't tightened (at least after a few hours driving and hearing loud noises from the front end, my son was able to tighten them by hand. We took the car into a Subaru shop in grand junction (after being stuck there over night) and was told that the noise came from not tightening the lugs. After paying them to figure this out, I called Dustin to find out what the heck happened. Needless to say I wasn't happy because if the tire had come loose (it was that bad after the mechanic in Grand Junction got it up on a rack) it would have killed my son and his wife. Dustin said it wasn't his fault and hung up on me. So if you're looking for a mechanic my advice is to keep looking. Nothing to see here.

I brought my car in after a minor accident to repair a few scratches. My insurance issued payment the first day they had my vehicle. Despite this, they claimed they hadn't received the check and delayed starting work for two weeks -- even though my insurance agent confirmed it had been cashed just days after it was sent. After finally beginning the repair, it took another two weeks to complete what should have been a simple job. A full month later, with virtually no communication, my car was finally ready for pickup. When we arrived, an employee discreetly attempted to charge the battery before handing the car over. What they failed to disclose was that they had completely drained it. The car drove home, but the next day it would not start and displayed a major system warning -- issues that never existed prior to bringing it in. I reached out multiple times with photos and received no response. However, they had no problem repeatedly texting me asking for a review. To make matters worse, my car now has scratches that were not there before, my personal air freshener was thrown away and replaced with a cheap promotional one, and the interior was returned dirty. It's also concerning that while their Google rating appears high, their Yelp rating sits around three stars. Given my experience -- and even a local AutoZone employee mentioning that customers frequently come in after issues with this shop -- it makes you question the consistency of those positive reviews. Between the dishonesty, lack of communication, and refusal to take accountability, this was an incredibly frustrating experience. I would not recommend this business.

After we agreed to buy, they did a thorough inspection and discovered the RV needed a new refrigerator, a brand new transmission, and new tires. They replaced all of it. No haggling, no price adjustment, no "as-is" fine print. The transmission alone ran them $8,000. They just did it, because it was the right thing to do. What a blessing to do business with people of true integrity! When we later noticed a backup camera issue and a problem with the toilet, I called and was told to bring it in -- no questions, no fees, just "come on in and we'll take care of it." Anyone who has owned RVs, knows there are always little things here and there so these two minor things are expected, but the fact they just were, with no hesitation, ready to make it right is absolutely unlike anything I've come across. This is a small, family-feel dealership that operates with an extraordinary level of integrity. They could have sold us that RV in its original condition and no one would have known the difference. Instead, they invested significantly in making it right before we ever drove it off the lot. That kind of honesty is rare anywhere, let alone in used vehicle sales. I am currently pursuing legal action against these guys so I won't get into too many details but I didn't want anymore time to pass without warning people about these guys. I did my research on these guys before buying a car and there weren't many reviews but saw a handful of good ones and thought I would give them a shot. Car-Smart's primary source of advertising is through KSL car ads and Facebook. I found a car, test drove it, liked my initial interactions with Pablo (Paul), and ultimately purchased the car. On my drive home to South Salt Lake the oil light came on. I put more oil in and didn't think much about it after that. The next morning I noticed smoke coming out my exhaust when I first started the car. The day after that the check oil light was back on. I took the car to a mechanic and found out that the car was burning oil and the cost of the repairs would cost more than the value of the car. I took it back to car-smart, they kept the car for over 7 days to look into it. During the time they had the car they wouldn't answer or respond to any of my texts and phone calls. They finally contacted me to tell me they were moving locations and I needed to come pick up the car. They put the key in the glove box and when I got to their business (They were located in Lindon at the time) it was clear that they had completely packed up and moved out of the location. I was standing in the empty parking lot thinking, "aw man! I just got screwed!" Shortly after I learned that the previous owners of the car had informed Car-Smart that it was burning oil. Paul not only knew of the problem and failed to disclose, he also lied about it. I contacted a consumer law attorney (Jon Rogers - so far I love the guy, i'll write a review on him when our matters are closed) and proceeded to review and pursue my legal options. Initially I really wanted to like these guys. I liked that it was a group of brothers running a small business. I liked how their informal approach made it feel more personal. I liked talking to Paul on a personal level as well. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed! I think the thing that frustrated me more than the lying and deceit was their failure and refusal to communicate with me. I gave them every benefit of the doubt and every opportunity to make it right.

We were looking for a good brand car (Toyota) with few miles but we didn't want to pay the real price for a clean title car .. So that is why we found Car smart. They fixed the car (body shop, maybe some mechanical) , we tested it and we liked it. Our new car drives awesome. Of course we have to fix some small details because it is an used car. The prices are convenient if you are thinking in keep it because remember they are rebuilt title cars. We know there are other dealers that sells rebuilt cars but we chose them and we are ok.

Being from out of town on a limited time schedule to get the car fixed I turned to AAA for assistance and found this shop on the AAA certified auto repair listings. I decided to go with them because of their high ratings/reviews. My daughter has a 2000 Toyota Echo and she has been having problems with the brake lights staying on once the car was turned off. Each time she arrived at her destination she would have to disconnect the fuse under the dash board or her car would be dead when she returned. I called the shop when they opened this morning, explained the situation, and was asked to drop the car off to be inspected. When I arrived Alex is the one who greeted me, remembered the conversation we had on the phone earlier. After the paperwork was completed he explained the process, the estimated cost for that specific issue but also made sure that I was aware the cost would be different if that wasn't the issue and the diagnostic showed something different. I let Alex know I was staying at the hotel down the street, which was a little over 3 miles away, and would be walking to/from the shop. When he heard the situation he offered to drop me off/pick me up but I declined... it's a beautiful day outside plus it would give me time to talk on the phone with my kiddos. I was on my walk back with less than 10 min to my destination when he called stating my car was fixed and ready to be picked up. He explained that the issue in question looked like it had a fairly new part and only needed to be adjusted properly; once they did it the problem resolved. When I got back to the shop I was greeted by Whitney and to my surprise the invoice read $0.00. He did not try to charge me for a new part, or upsell anything. As it turns out, my son who is not mechanically inclined did change the part about 9 months prior and the issue has been happening since then, so my daughter inherited the issue when she got the car. Edit: they did offer a 25% discount + recalibration. However, as it happened while they did the work, a partial solution is not a solution. No, he shared the pictures with the real estimator--who doubles as a receptionist-- and "had to take her kids to school" so she had to leave work an hour early. So she asked us to come back again! so she could look at the damage herself, since she, the receptionist is in charge of writing all estimates. She had sent us an estimate which was not the way we had asked for it--coupling it with a different set of damage. Enough screwiness to stay far away from this unprofessionalism.
