Billing double what should have been !! We had knocking in the plumbing. We suspected the pressure regulator needed replacing and stated that in our initial request. The first tech came out as scheduled did a few diagnostics and agreed that the first line of resolution was to replace the regulator BUT he was too large to get under the house and do the job. so we had to take up time to reschedule the job. several weeks later the second tech arrived and took time on the clock to reassess what had already been assessed and then "wouldn't you know it" he didn't have a needed part on the truck... so he was gone for (suspiciously) exactly one- on the clock- hour when home depot is about 1 mile from here. came back and did the job. we were billed for double the time that this job should have taken we asked for an itemized invoice but the company was either unwilling or unable to provide one. Sr Discount at least ???.. no idea cause nothing is in writing. Watch your back ! read more

What I like about Tech Plumbing is they answer the phone, and if they say someone will be out there tomorrow, someone is out there tomorrow. They basically remodeled one of my bathrooms, semi annual service for the furnace, insulated all the water lines under the house and the pump house, upgraded numerous plumbing fixtures in all the bathrooms and the kitchen, dealt with a water heater issue and went under the house to deal with the furnace ducts and water lines. Highly recommend. I had a "worse nightmare" for a homeowner type of situation with the main sewer line back flowing into the house. Pro's: Their work has turned out excellent. Con's: Took a long time for our parts to come in...not their fault. Go back?: Yes We live in a high-rise condo with a 40 year old HVAC system. That dog was screaming in pain when we turned on the a/c this summer. After seeking advise from a fellow resident who is a pro in HVAC, he told us what needed to be done. Josh came out at assessed what we needed and set forth to order the parts. Well, this old building's parts are hard to ge and we waited several weeks but managed ok without the a/c. (Bedroom a/c worked fine...just living room a/c was the problem.) Then, when the weather started to cool, we were anxious to get the repair done. Just in time, the parts arrived. The entire quote came in a couple hundred higher than originally quoted, but we understand the nature of getting parts for this old system. It has been 3 weeks now...everthing is working perfectly. We were having trouble with getting error codes on our tankless hot water heater. They sent a person out that looked at it for 10 minutes. Did not open the unit up. Did not put a gas pressure meter on the supply line to the heater. Yet told me in his greater knowledge that we needed a dedicated gas line to the water heater. I called the water heater manufacturer and they said that was incorrect unless the gauge did not show We had the minimum pressure required. We called out a company that actually knew what they were doing and found the dips in the circuit board were set to sea level instead of 4500 feet above sea level. Also found a bad sensor on the unit. Called Tech plumbing and told them and asked for a refund they said to bad so sad. I learned to only call out union plumbers. read more

I have called Tech plumbing and so has Fidelity they have not responded to any calls. The leak under my house has gone on for days now. It is Friday afternoon. My water heater went out Monday evening. Call Tech Plumbing and was immediately impressed with Kenna who I sent pictures of the water heater. She had someone at my house first thing Tuesday. A Tech Plumber was dispatched to my home to deal with a clogged line. Unfortunately they made it worse. So much do that it flooded my basement. Another plumber had to come out to repair. That plumbing put in writing that Tech screwed up. Tech has yet to respond to my complaint and request that they pay for repairs to a damaged floor. Do not use this plumbing company. when you have no customer service, you have no business being in business. This company was selected by my home warranty company to repair a valve in my shower. The tech stated he could not go thru the tile but could cut a hole in my wall and replace the valve. He claimed the warranty company would repair the wall and there was no need to call the warranty company. The warranty company stated they had no one to do the repair but they would give me $100.00 Three bids indicated the least expensive $225. I've called this company numerous times and been told a responsible person would call back but they never have. I am an Interior Designer. My company is Lofty Expressions and I work with many trades people. I have very been satisfied with your technicians. They have always been reliable and dependable. We have a 114 yr. old Country Victorian home that can be difficult. We are renovating our bathroom and the cast iron tub and toilet needed to be removed before the floor could be installed. Shawn and Josh showed up on time and everything followed like clockwork. Shawn returned later after the floor was installed to install the toilet. I don't have the patience for poorly run businesses. Some of the home service companies in Reno are getting a bit complacent about customer service because they have all the work they need. Matt, from Tech Plumbing came out and immediately knew our pressure from the street was a bit too high, resulting in wear and tear on all fixture cartridges. My AC was working great, keeping the house very cool, but I had a clogged condensation hose that was causing the condensation to back up and flood out of the HVAC closet. With everyone I spoke with at Tech, I explained that I simply needed the condensate hose cleared and/or replaced. I waited a week and a half for an appointment, they were a no-show for the service window but called me later that night, I explained again what I needed, and the "supervisor" promised they would have someone out on Monday. On Monday, I had to call them again, and they sent a guy who could not work on HVAC units! They promised to get someone out the next day, but I had to call again, and even though they promised they would call back within five minutes, they did not. I had to call twice more, insisting they prioritize my appointment because I am disabled nn was sick from two weeks without AC during nearly 100° heat. I again reiterated the repair needed. The next morning, that "supervisor" arrived, but he insisted I needed a new air conditioner. Once again I explained what I wanted him to do, what needed fixed, but he wouldn't pursue it. Though the office had promised a full appointment, with enough time to fix my problem, the guy left after about 30 minutes, telling me the office would call to schedule me for a (different) repair- - or a new AC - - and it wouldn't be able to be done for another week or two, so my problem went unresolved again. The office never did call me, which was fine--I had had enough of these guys' BS. I ENDED UP FIXING THE PROBLEM MYSELF, FOR FREE. IT WAS SIMPLER TO RECTIFY THAN I'D EVEN EXPECTED, AND IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I'D TOLD THEM IT WAS: THE CONDENSATION HOSE WAS CLOGGED. UPDATE: 20 days after I posted this review, Tech sent me an apology letter which included a gift card to a nice local restaurant. I appreciated that, and I feel the apology was sincere and they are trying to improve their service and win back disgruntled customers. read more

Shawn is a great plumber. He is thorough and sees to it that your plumbing issues are fixed. He has always arrived on time or earlier and has let me know when he would arrive each time. Fast, efficient, and good, solid work was performed each of the 3 times he has come out to help me. My pipe leak has been temperamental so it's requiring several visits to finally get it fixed bu that's not his fault. The pipes don't always leak so if he can't see where the leak is coming from he can't diagnose it but he has been certainly willing to come back and fix whatever is necessary when it does leak. Received our estimate to move plumbing lines and install new water heater and washing machine hookup. The half bathroom was also looked at, but somehow didn't make it on the bid. The work was scheduled for March 29 and 30,2022, which was great as one of us had to leave on April 26th to bring an elderly family member back with us. The tech was ill so moved the schedule to March 30 and 31, 2022. On the 31st, Jack, the plumbing tech, was called to leave our job and go to another job. He had not finished our job, so he filled our water heater and did a temporary fix so we would have hot water. He was very nice, as was the receptionist. We called to see when he would be back to finish, as our washer had no water hookup to do wash and the water heater was in the middle of the room. We were given the date of April 20th, 2 1/2 weeks later. When the day arrived, no one showed. We called and were told he was ill and it would be another week before he had room on his schedule. They finished the job on April 29, 2022. Regardless of how much work was involved with the job, they should have finished before accepting another job. It made us feel like our job was not important. A Tech Plumber came out to replace a O ring in the top of my water softener because of a small leak. The tech plumber removed the water line and replaced the O ring. After reattaching the water line and turning on the water, the water line was gushing to the point where we can no longer use our water softener. The plumber didn't apologize, he simply said when I got a new part, he would be happy to come out and charge me another $115 to try to put it back together again. We are now going to have to get a new water softener. I could have done as good a job rendering my softener useless myself!! read more

I'd like to preface with my house is older, my water heater was 31 years old when it finally went out, and I'd been looking into replacing it a couple months leading up to this. I Found these guys while trying to get a water heater replaced with a big box company. Tech plumbing came out as a third party installer for the company I purchased a water heater from originally. We discussed how the company suggested the incorrect size heater to me (also the whole installation set up with the company took 3 weeks because they can't communicate or sell installations properly), but Jack was extremely helpful, professional, sympathetic to our situation, and really pulled through for us in making a massive headache something I don't have to worry about anymore. During his initial visit he told me exactly what I needed, as well as the additional modification required to bring my older home to code. After a lot of back and forth with the big box company and still not having hot water after three weeks I went ahead with having Tech plumbing finish the job directly. The second visit went exactly as planned, with the new water heater in, old one out, drains going where they need to, and a much more reasonable cost compared what I was quoted by other plumbing companies. I've Had a really bad clogged kitchen sink for awhile, and could not get anyone to fix it because it is a mobile home. I was put in touch with Shalene at "Tech Plumbing".
