There aren't enough stars to give this company and their employees. First I will start with Rafael who came out within a half hour when I called for a quote for a new roof mounted swamp cooler. I have been worried about replacing my old one but he assured me that they would do an amazing job, and they gave me a fair price. This morning Rafael, Josh and Arturo showed up, the nicest guys you could ever meet. They checked out the location of the unit and immediately set out to work. I couldn't believe how fast the old one came down and the new one went up. My roof is slanted with solar panels up there, there is a 4ft wide space in between but it requires care when maneuvering around them. Several other men came just to help swap the units and then they were gone. Again really nice young men. There were lots of things concerning the old cooler, I didn't know it wasn't installed many years ago correctly so while we had lots of air in our attic was very cool LOL They made sure it was perfect, I'm so happy with the installation, Rafael, Josh and Arturo are truly professionals but more then that they are a pleasure to have do the work. I have been using Anderson since we moved here in 2002, wouldn't use any other company. He arrived on time, was polite, professional and managed to pinpointed and repair the problem within 30 minutes, thoroughly explaining afterwards what his did and why. The fee was more than reasonable, and the work came w/ a 1-year guarantee. I have made note of all and Anderson will be my go-to HVAC from here on. First rate / 5 star. read more

I don't recommend this company. The first time I used them was during winter and the heater needed repairing. They were high in their repair estimate but I agreed because I needed the work done ASAP. They convinced me to sign up for a service agreement. Five months later they show up for the service agreement work at $140 to inspect the AC before summer. The guy performs the work. I proceed to pay and the guy says, "Oh, it's going to be $215 instead of $140." I asked why. He explained that the condenser was extra dirty. I asked, "Is cleaning the condenser part of the service?" He says, "Yes it's part of the service, but yours was extra dirty." So, he upcharged $75 to perform normal service. And I already know they'll do the same thing next time they arrive to service the unit before winter; they'll find a way to upcharge from $140. I know what happened. They screwed up in their scheduling and he wanted extra money to cover his time. The guy showed up 2 hours early from the scheduled appointment time and I wasn't at home so he drove back to the office. When I called him back after I returned home, he admitted to driving out early and said he would drive back again. It was basically a 30-minute drive each way, so he lost an hour because he arrived too early. That's not my fault. He basically found a way to upcharge to cover his lost time. FYI if you have agreement with ANY type of service worker, they should NEVER upcharge you without permission. If there is going to be an additional charge for ANYTHING, they need to get permission from you. The industry term is a "change order". That's standard in the construction industry; never do extra work for any reason beyond the contract without first getting an approved change order. This guy didn't. He essentially tacked on $75 without asking permission or telling me there was extra work that needed to be done (which I don't believe there was any, he just wanted extra money to cover his lost time). Use another company. And whatever company you do choose, make sure you tell them to explain what they are going to do for their service fee, and also tell them to not do any additional work without first getting approval from you. I ran a construction company for a long time with over 30 employees. Not a single worker performed extra work for a customer without first getting an approved change order. Don't use Anderson Heating & A/C. Us another company, an honest one. read more

I had a handyman install a ductless AC system and he didn't quite complete it, I called Anderson for help, the receptionist was so nice and friendly, my technician was Dave, he was a very nice guy and he immediately got going on an evaluation, my next appointment he went through my entire system fixing all the mistakes that the handyman made, my system now works perfectly. Dave was a total professional, I can highly recommend this company, they are a pleasure to work with. read more

Had new heater a/c system installed in 2017. A/C went out last week and they couldn't come out to the following week to check it out. I get it they were busy so we call Sierra Air and they came the next day And found out the problem. We called them to get a quote to repair it and see if it was under warranty. Three days later and still no call back. Very hot in the house and pets aren't doing well. Not very good customer service and wouldn't recommend any more. We were happy with past experience, wound only take a call to say we can't do it and to busy. read more

We needed our heater looked at since it just stopped working from one day to the next. I looked on Yelp, as I normally do to see how HVAC companies rate. Many with good reviews were old reviews from years before. I found Anderson's on Carson City with recent great reviews. My husband called and they were able to come out the very next day. We have space heaters and a pellet stove so it was perfect. The technician came by on time. I was at work so my husband was dealing with him. The problem was discovered. At first my husband seemed like he was having an issue with the technician but honestly my husband can be difficult. My husband called me at work and said it would be just over $500 to fix, ouch! I told him, it must be fixed so do it. After my husband told the technician to go ahead and fix it, everything went great. My husband said the technician was a real great and friendly guy so I suspect it was my husband who was initially give him a hard time. I pray the problem is fixed and if so we will go with Anderson again. read more

Anderson heating and air-conditioning replaced the furnace and added a new central air conditioner to my rental. Once installed , in the hot summer months, it had a little effect on cooling the home of my tenants. It took numerous calls and badgering when being ignored to get them to come out and correct the problem. It took five visits after which on each one they said everything was fine but it was not. It was not until I had to crawl under the house in the crawlspace that I discovered that there was a big gap left in the duct system and all the air was blowing out into the crawlspace, rather than in the duct system. Why did the homeowner have to this to be able to get this corrected. At all junctures they were reluctant to help. Many of phone calls went unanswered until I finally had to go walk into their office. I cannot not recommend using Anderson heating air-conditioning. It was a horrible experience read more

I have a 70's townhouse in NV. Tried yelp and Angis (do not use angies - worthless). Yelp wasn't all that helpful - came up with mostly CA licensed plumbers. Google maps helped me out. Chose a company in Carson with NV license. The receptionist/office manage that answered the call was very helpful, and said the tech would be in the area around noon. Sure enough, Mr. Anderson called 1/2 hour away. Got there before me. My flooring contractors were there, so he went in and started diagnosing. Quickly found the problem, fixed it, cleaned the furnace. Found a third filter on the furnace, that I did know about, which was fully clogged. Took that out and also solved my other problem with a loud whine when the heat came on. Reasonable price. I am very happy - fully recommend Anderson! read more

Anderson heating and AC did a marvelous job installing air conditioner and correcting the installation of the heater put in by RHP. They were very professional and knowledgeable of the systems and although RHP had done the heater installation less than a year earlier, Anderson took care of pulling the heater, sealing everything, placing the heater back on a new pedestal can and upgrading the return vent to the correct size instead of just installing reduction connector so the 12 inch intake would attach to the 14 inch return hose. I did have to pay for the newer thermostat as well but it works so much better than the one RHP installed as it was very basic. Total was a bit more than RHP price but worth every penny to get a correct installation. read more

Everyone we interacted with at the company, from the people answering the phones, to providing quotes, to installation was professional and courteous. Stephen, who came out to do our quote, was precisely on time and extremely knowledgeable in his field. He was quick to answer emails and patient with our numerous questions. The guys who did our install, Travis and Arturo, were also promptly on time, worked quickly and quietly ,and left the job site exceptionally clean. Anderson is my go to when we need HVAC work. They have been up to our house several times in the last couple years to service our furnace and garage heater. The technicians are always friendly and do a great job. Most recently our original to the house Lennox Pulse Furnace stopped working and the home warranty company we use, was not able to get one of their contractors to our house for 5 days. I got approval to use Anderson from them and they were here within 5 hours of calling. Hector was super friendly and easy to work with. He diagnosed the blower motor was bad and we called the home warranty company together and got authorization for the repair. Hector got the part ordered and overnighted for the next day, a Saturday. He came up and installed the motor and got our heat working right before the storm this last weekend. Finally, I always enjoy talking to the technicians from various companies about how they like working there. The technicians at Anderson always give extremely positive feedback on how the company is run and their working conditions. It feels good to support a locally owned well run family business. I used this company to install a new furnace. They gave me a quote of $8500 to install furnace and air conditioner. Financially we could only do the furnace for that year. So a year later contacted them and the lady in office does her job well. However Stephen there estimator does not contact you, after making repeated calls for days for the estimate. The lady on phone obviously frustrated because this guys not getting back to potential customers. He finally sent an estimate in. Originally I was going to be charged $4500 for a AC had I did the package AC/Furnace. His estimate for AC only $10,000. I'm grateful I got 3 estimates and Sierra Air out of Reno beat the two Carson companies I contacted by $4000-$5000. So I wouldn't recommend this company for two reasons, lack of communication or response. It's not just about price but how they treat you. In addition after my AC was installed I was informed there was a permit required for a AC. In discussion with SA, it's required to pull permit in AC and furnace installs. City Inspector came today 8-25-22, stated permit was required for furnace install. Anderson did not pull a permit for install. read more

I am very disappointed in lack of follow-up or care from the employees. My husband and I own a home in Carson City, which my elderly (in their 70s) in-laws live in. Four years ago we had Anderson install new AC. At the time we were happy with the service and had no problems. In the last month the AC stopped working completely. We were able to call Anderson and confirm we were still under warranty for parts. I explained that my family members are also in ill health and were already having Home Health come out and were concerned about the lack of AC. Here is a timeline of everything that happened: First call, on a Monday, informed the soonest anyone could come out was that Thursday afternoon. Okay, better than nothing. Worker comes out and says the duct system is collapsing and needs to be fixed. He is unable to do anything right now, but will be back first thing in the morning. Even leaves his ladder in the garage. Next morning... nothing. My mother-in-law and I both call to find out what is happening, front desk has no idea what appointment we are referring to. After back and forth, even speaking with the worker, told he will still make it out, just got stuck longer on another job. Worker never shows up (this is Friday). On Monday, AC has still not been fixed and is not working at all in 100+ degree weather. Call Anderson again, say they will send someone else out the next day (Tuesday). That worker comes out, does some work, and says he will come back the next day to finish the job due to the severity of the issue. AC seems to be working at a minimum, but hey... better than no AC at all. Wednesday... second worker never shows up. Call Anderson again and complain that they have now sent two workers out who both promised to come back the next day and are no shows. To Anderson's credit, this front desk employee actually seems bothered by this. It seems the workers were not officially scheduling follow-up with the actual scheduler. Ends up the second worker was claiming the job was fixed and he was never supposed to come out again to finish the job. I explain the AC was never fully fixed and that it was going out intermittently. Front desk worker manages to get a THIRD employee to come out that day. Third employee seems to do the trick and actually finishes the job! Now... two days later (last Friday), my mother-in-law informs us that while the AC is working, if the outside temp goes to 100 degrees it will become overloaded and turn off. This is happening daily around 4 PM. I am more understanding with Anderson this time, as this now appears to be more of a maintenance issue and not an emergency repair. I call Anderson this morning (which is a Monday after this going on over the weekend). I get another front desk employee (I'm sorry, I don't know names) who does not seem to care and is only asking my name, address, phone number and e-mail to send the invoice. No acknowledgement of the very recent history of this AC system needing to be fixed. She tells me that the soonest she can get someone out there is next Monday! At this point I am done. I refuse to give any more business to this company. We found another local HVAC repair man and he came out the same day and is currently fixing the issue. He did mention that the reason the AC is turning off is b/c the Anderson repair man removed a panel and never put it back on. I don't know for sure, just adding it to the review. read more

I had a "whole house humidifier" in my attic near my heater that leaked and caused some damage. Called Anderson (after calling a company advised on TV that booked an appointment and never showed), Anderson was very responsive. Mark came out and checked the system and identified several problems with the installation (not done by Anderson). He disconnected the system to prevent any further damage. Mark also explained that the humidifier that we had installed were no longer recommended precisely for that reason. We decided to order a new humidifier from Anderson and have scheduled an installation date. Mark did NOT charge us for the work. Mark was very knowledgeable and professional. Our a/c quit during this recent heat spell and having used Anderson Heating & A/C about a year or so ago, I called them again. They were out here in about 1/2 and hour and they sent Bryan again, which pleased us immensely. I cannot say enough good things about this company and all their employees. Bryan had our A/C running again after having to endure quite awhile in our 130 degree attic. They do not take advantage of their customers when charging us. They are fair, honest and so efficient. Bryan is the best and the young lady in the office that took my call and got help to us so quickly was a true blessing. My 8 year "young" heater was failing due to incorrect installation by the original builder, Lennar (an ongoing issue over the past several years that Lennar insists is not their problem). Winter came early, and, of course, my furnace was not working well. I called Anderson Heating and A/C on Tuesday, November 1st, and I was able to get an appointment for that Thursday, November 3rd. I was called this morning, November 2nd, and was told there was a cancelation and was asked if I wanted their technician to come in the afternoon. I did not hesitate to say, "Yes!" I was given a window of 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. for the technician's arrival. The technician Hector came at about 3:15 p.m. He was polite, personable, and listened to the problems I was having. He advised me on what was contributing to the heating problem then thoroughly checked the heating unit and cleaned it. Hector even changed out the ceiling air filter for me. I was dreading a problem that would have necessitated replacing the heater, but instead received a modest bill for the job: $140.00! Most companies charge far more than that just to walk through the door, never mind fixing any problem. Hector set the thermostat where I asked and even waited to make sure the heat reached that setting before he left. I can't say enough about Hector's professionalism and kindness. He made me feel like a valued customer instead of just another job. I will use Anderson Heating and A/C again when the need arises, and I will definitely be asking for Hector to service my unit. We have discovered over the years that many HVAC companies are either incompetent or are outright scammers. It is very hard to find an honest, high quality HVAC company. FINALLY we have found one: Anderson is the best. They came out to give a second opinion when Silver State had failed to diagnose our issue. Whereas Silver State sent out a newbie and charged us $350 for an incorrect diagnosis after hours of struggling, Anderson sent out a skilled, experienced HVAC service person who figured it out in LESS THAN 10 MINUTES. We will not ever go with any other HVAC service. It's nice to finally find an honest, competent company. read more

I highly recommend Anderson Heating and AC! We bought a house with a swamp cooler. The technician that came out showed my husband how to change the belt so we could save money. He also did a minor tune up so we could get more air flow in the house! The next day our motor started to act up. The sane technician came out and told us we needed a new motor. He said my husband was handy enough to fix it himself and if we had any issues he would come out again. I love that they fixed what we had.
