We've used Red Bear in the past and have always been very happy with their service. On this occasion, our air conditioner stopped working, and a technician named Gio diagnosed the issue as a blown capacitor. He promptly replaced it and had our system up and running again. Unfortunately, the very next day, the air stopped working once more. Red Bear responded quickly again, and a technician named Steven diagnosed the new issue as a blown fuse caused by exposed wiring that had likely come into contact with itself. He explained that the damaged wiring was most likely the result of a rodent chewing away the insulation. Both technicians were extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything they found and the repairs they performed. Their professionalism and prompt response are appreciated. Chris has been excellent with our A/C and furnace maintenance. We have complex LG systems covering three floors, including a commercial unit for the third floor. Recently, the commercial unit was not working properly. Chris was patient, responsive, and very persistent in identifying the root of the problem. He took the time to study the unit, consult directly with LG, and stayed with it until everything was fully operational. He also installed a remote LG thermostat for the 3rd floor, which has made managing the system much easier. In addition, the front desk staff at Red Bear is very professional. They reminded us of our appointment in advance and followed up when the technician arrived, which made the entire process smooth and efficient. Long Overdue Review for Red Bear Mechanical. They installed new HVAC (High Efficiency Furnace and AC) in addition to adding ducting to areas of the home that needed it. WOW what can I say. Got the lead on Red Bear Mechanical from Jerry of Jolt Electric, another awesome company. Called Red Bear and they quoted a three head split system. Had 6 quotes and they were one that was most reasonable. The team that was dispatched to do the install were awesome. Very personable and very professional. They took their time and were very thorough. The only hiccup was when they were cleaning up some sheet rock dust with the shop vac there was no filter on the on it so sheet rock dust went everywhere in the room LOL. They identified the problem, installed a filter and cleaned the entire room from top to bottom. To be honest it was cleaner after they cleaned it from what it was before. I have always been very satisfied with their very courteous and professional service. Last year I had to buy a brand new heating & air conditioning unit. The old one was 27-yrs old and died. The follow up service for the past year on the unit has been outstanding. Lately, I was hearing a strange noise when the A/C would turn on. I usually wait at least a year before writing a review for major home upgrades. I purchased a replacement Bryant furnace along with upgrading to an A/C for the summer so I did not have to rely on swamp coolers any more. all the work was done in December 2020. My neighbor used this company across the street and she usually chooses the best of the best in carson city, so I called them for a quote. Upon further research, i found this is a family owned, local carson city Hvac and plumbing company. Apparently the dual professions fall into the "mechanical" category and have a wealth of knowledge in Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing. Anyway, I obtained a quote for a Bryant furnace and A/C and a whole house air filter and electrical air purifier (you know, the smoke from the california fires isn't gonna get any better each year). The installation took about 3 days. The furnace was the first priority since it was winter, and that was running from day 1. Anyway, stuff happens, and there was some problems that became apparent with the install. Their installers (also their technicians), handled it with grace and expertise. It was all resolved to my satisfaction. We also had some issues that couldn't be troubleshooted until the summer that was resolved to my satisfaction when the A/C was fired up. Now this is a company that does not advertise on TV, does not have 100 plus employees, does not have a separate installation team as compared to those on television. I think this is important as some large companies have a separate installation team, that does not troubleshoot, and that can cause problems. This company has its technicians do the install which was important to me because I see the same people over and over again for maintenance and stuff. I am not a big fan of having different people coming into my house. The Bryant equipment is great, and the people are great. I think its important to support the small local business. If you live in Carson and Northern Nevada, and nearby (lake tahoe etc), feel free to give them a call. There prices are fair and reasonable and I felt that received an honest and fair opinion on all the issues that I faced. read more

Jennifer and Debbie who work in the office are quick to return your calls or emails. Jessica & Debbie listen to your issues and quick to answer your questions or help you out in any situation you find yourself in. From emergencies to general questions! I never felt like I was bothering them, I never felt rushed while talking to them on the phone. Unfortunately I have dealt with some flakey companies up here in the area, and this is not one of them! We have a high output gas water heater that heats our floors as well. I didn't understand the system very well. I called a good friend of mine that is an extremely popular plumber in Carson City. He referred me to Red Bear Mechanical. I had Michael come out to explain how the system works. Boy, I'm glad I did. The water heater started having issues a few months later. Michael diagnosed the intermittent problem and swapped the likely components. Problem solved... for a while. Michael returned several times to fix the problem. When summer arrived, it wasn't working very consistently. Michael decided to disassemble the PVC plumbing for the air intake and exhaust. He found a hidden air filter in the corner behind the water heater that was very plugged up. It was not visible the way the system was installed and it was never mentioned when on the phone with tech support. Had he not taken it apart, problems would have continued. Now I know the filter needs to be cleaned or replaced every couple years. Throughout this process, Michael was friendly and the costs were very fair. Red Bear was asked to come out to our newly purchased home to inspect the mechanical systems, particularly HVAC. We found the return air system was inadequate for the oversized 5 ton compressor causing icing. That explained why a 69 degree night time setting had a 75 degree result. Instead of recommending replacement of the unit with an appropriately sized one, Michael recommended a second return duct be added to the system. It now works perfectly, in fact it is almost too cool at the set temperature. Along with fixing several more poorly installed issues, their work was excellent and crew very knowledgeable and efficient. I recommend Red Bear. read more

It's the day after New Years during the noon hour. I heard the loud noise of water running at full blast. Knowing no one was using the water in the house and checking around I could not find where the water was running. I figured there must be a broken pipe somewhere and started to panic. I pictured my crawl space under the house filling with water. Looking up plumbers in Yelp I started calling. Many where either on vacation, were not answering the phone, or were already out on a service call. Red Bear was the only company I could reach. Jessica was very understanding of my emergency and assured me that she would contact Michael immediately. It was just few minutes later that she called back to say Michael would be at my house in 20 minutes. I thought about all that water just gushing. Then Michael called to say he'd be arriving in 5 minutes. I felt so much more relieved. He was very courteous and wasted no time discovering where the break in my pipe was and was able to turn off the water from its source. The broken pipe is under my deck and outdoor kitchen area and can't be fixed at this time of year, but I'll be sure to call him back to replace the pipe in the Spring. read more
