Oktay is the absolute best. Microsoldering / board level repair work is getting harder to find these days, but from the first few messages we exchanged I could tell Oktay was the right person for the job. He helped with a logic board repair on an M2 MacBook air, and the laptop is working great. He was also able and willing to try a completely different board repair project I had available that most shops wouldn't even be willing to look at. It's truly a breath of fresh air to work with someone who appreciates electronics and is able to save parts that otherwise tend to end up as e-waste. Considering Apple and other big tech companies only seem to push people to spend as much money as possible replacing full assemblies + endless parts etc (that are all glued together) this is why the right to repair is so important and we 100% need shops like this to exist. I went to a mom-and-pop shop first to get a quote for my iPad repair, and they quoted me a much higher price than what Tech Defense offered. They originally told me my repair would probably be done by the next day, which I was totally fine with. However, to my surprise, they finished it the same day before they even closed it only took a couple of hours. I was really excited to get my iPad back so quickly. Oktay is the best. Went there to fix a broken button my car key fob. He fixed that and also fixed the entire circuit board on my other key fob. He was quick with the fix and didn't try to over charge me Just because he had to fix the circuit board at a couple of places. He knows his trade pretty well. Very knowledgeable. My family and I were walking around the mall after leaving the Apple store. We had gone there to see various options for my cracked iPad screen. Unfortunately, the options weren't cheap, but I considered them. That is until my husband pointed out Tech Defense, and decided to go in and ask how much it would be to replace my screen. He called, told me the price, and I reluctantly said yes. Exactly two hours later (as initially stated by the owner), the iPad was completed, and I was pleasantly surprised with the final result. I wish I had a before picture to show you how damaged the screen was. I do, however, have an after. You cannot see that it was ever damaged, and it works great. read more

UPDATE: the owner's rude responses to the customers is INSANE that's how they run their business blaming the customers for their work. it blows my mind that you say the screws were already missing when you were the first people who ever touched our phone, so you're saying apple gave us a phone with missing screws? and i've seen the reviews and a couple of people said they got multiple screens and theirs didn't work either. got a replacement for a cracked screen, everything seemed fine. three weeks later, the screen started glitching and turned off completely. went back to show them and they said the screen disconnected but they somehow tried to say it was our fault because of moisture in the air or keeping the phone in the sun? idk, but it didn't make sense. thankfully they still gave us a replacement since it was in the 30 day window. but they said if there were any other issues, then we would have to pay for another replacement. fast forward another TWO WEEKS and the bottom of the screen started to stop working, and was completely black while the rest of the screen was still working. we didn't drop the phone or crack it or anything, it just was slowly dying. at this point we knew better than to take it back there. went to another phone repair place and they were shocked that we got the screen "professionally" replaced. they said it was missing so many screws, no wonder why it wasn't staying secure and working. they said this was the worst replacement job they've seen and they were so sorry we had to pay for that. what a waste of almost $150. will never recommend this place again. read more

Went to trade in my iPhone 13 and got $0 value for it due to a swollen battery. Went to Tech Defense and Oktay (chill dude by the way) replaced my battery for $80 in less than 20 min! Gave me the advice to go back to Apple and trade it back in and Apple accepted my phone for the full trade in value of $250. Literally saved me money and time as I would have had to sell it in my own time and probably for less money. Defintely recommend this place and will be coming back! read more

Bought two cases, they weren't the right fit, I called to see if I could get a refund for returning them (it hasn't even been a day since getting them). The person at the phone said no refunds are accepted but they could offer to exchange. This shop uses the cheapest aftermarket components. I paid well over $100 for a new screen with LCD, then discovered how bad it is. The screen has a blue tint and not bright enough to see in daylight, ambient light sensor does not work, NO thumb print sensor, and the touch sensitivity is inconsistent, making the phone practically useless. A big waste of time and money. I went back a couple days later and the OWNER said he would not help me because he could not lose money. He said it was my fault that I didn't ask more questions before paying him for the service. Better to go somewhere else - there are many choices. They really do speedy work at this business! I came in to get my screen replaced as it was acting up, and he fixed my phone in an hour's time! (For reference, I came in around 3:30 and he apologized it wouldn't be ready until 6:00, but it ended up being done by 4:30). My iPhone 13 screen broke and I took it to a stand in the mall. When the guy there realized I wouldn't pay $400 to fix it he ignored my requests to buy a case and went to the next customer. Went to Tech Defense and the owner was great! He understood not wanting to pay the $400 and offered a good screen protector and case as enough protection to keep me going. Best in town! I have been trying to get my radios repaired. Searched for micro soldering and to my surprise Tech Defense popped up and he was local. He did some Reflow work on 2 radio units. My daughter went to the store to have her screen replaced and spent $344. Two hours later, the phone was doing the same thing and was still not functioning appropriately. I returned to their store to have them look at the phone again, and they immediately told me she had dropped her phone. My daughter had been packing for college and had not gone anywhere and had definitely not dropped her phone. With that said, the owner became highly confrontational and unwilling to help me. They were willing to help me if I spent another $200+ to fix the phone again, but I just wasn't willing to do that given the dishonest behavior. Another customer was in the store, the customer pulled me aside and was telling me how very rude the ownership was, and how unhelpful the same sales person had been with her. As the woman was about to fix my phone and I was about to spend $200 more, I changed my mind when she asked me to step outside while she fixed my phone. I found that request extremely odd, and once again, it felt like it was a scam that was taking place at the store. I told her to please put the phone back together, and I would go somewhere else. As someone entered the store, I quickly enlightened her that they do not stand behind their work. The owner stepped outside and began screaming up and down the halls for security. It was an absolute drama show. Do not shop at the store as they will not stand behind their work, and once they get their money, they are unhelpful! Very dishonest and such a scam. I went to an alternative screen replacement group within the mall, and they confirmed the accusations seemed very odd to them as well, and I was able to replace my screen with an apple screen versus aftermarket screen like they sold my daughter, for the same price. This company truly needs to evaluate their policies and customer service. I do believe this owner and the gal that runs the shop are related as they truly behave in the same manner with a lack of customer service skills. Horrible. As for the owners post below, he's used the same insurance, terminologies, and all the posts that are similar to my own. It is a parent they have not stirred behind their work with others. To clarify, the screen had the defect again within two hours of returning to our home. The owner is indeed correct, and I was unable to make it back to the store, thinking it would not be a challenge whatsoever to have them look at the phone and make the needed corrections. Never did. I think an owner would not stand behind the work they produced. Once again, just horribly unprofessional. Its me again...The Automated Idiot! If you read my earlier post, Oktay miraculously restored my 15-yr old Acer laptop from the dead months ago. Better than new, updating it to Windows11 & Photoshop 6. Amazing machine now, in spite of the inherent Windows11 glitches. THEN, I decided to play Spotify while paying bills. The computer froze, emitting a hideous noise! Oh NO!! I couldn't reset or restart it. Called Oktay, and he answered first ring. "What do I do? My computer won't budge from this frozen screen and noise like a BESS Power Station!" Oktay patiently said, "Hold your finger on the power button, for at least 20 seconds, or until the machine turns off, then restart if you want" and waited as I tried it. Again, the genius had the answer. I simply didn't hold the power button down long enough the first time, just kept punching it. Duh!" Any other tech would've said, "Bring it in, it will be $100 minimum, and take 2 weeks at least!" Wish I could clone Oktay twice, and turn one clone into a mechanic, the 2nd one into a doctor! We were assisted by a really kind employee. We went to the Apple Store because my mom's iPhone 12 had frozen, and they told us we would have to wait four hours to get it fixed. We decided to take a stroll until our appointment came up. That was when we noticed Tech Defense, we figured asking them wouldn't hurt. My Apple Watch 6 screen suddenly went black. I took it to Apple Store and since it's 2 years old and out of warranty they recommend me to get a new one. I was trying to see if somehow I can save it so I took it to tech defense. The owner spent more than 2 days trying to see if there is something he can do. He tried battery replacement, screen replacement etc and finally think its motherboard went dead. There is nothing he can do to fix it.
