Their signature fresh boba is what makes their bubble tea stand out from the rest--the "bubbles" are made from cassava starch otherwise known as tapioca pearls or balls--soaked then cooked and sweetened in a brown sugar syrup. Here they have a whole wok full of these, and they're super soft, incredibly chewy and bouncy, on the sweeter side compared to some other chains, but not too cloyingly so. Their menu consists of a number of a bubble tea and coffee drinks, mostly with milk though some without, you have an option of regular milk, lactaid milk (+$0.50) or oatmilk (+$1.00). The pudding had more of a mousse consistency than a jello consistency which is what I had originally expected and I feel like you couldn't taste the coconut as well. I'm glad however they did use fresh mango. I will probably give this place another shot when they open in Manhattan but will probably get a drink instead of a pudding next time.
