Customer service is brutal. The food is good it's just smaller portions. Reasonably priced.

Ok, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it: I enjoy Teaspoons Cafe more than Bread Co in certain aspects. For one, their prices are way better. You can get a huge, delicious sandwich or wrap with a side salad for around $8, or a whole salad. They also have a "pick two" style option for all their sandwiches, salads and soups. The tea selection is HUGE! They do not offer soda here, but you honestly don't miss it with all the different kinds of tea offered. All teas and coffees can be iced or hot also. They also offer fresh baked pastry treats as well. Those very from day to day. The owners are really friendly and you can tell they take pride in serving fresh, good food. Defiantly my new lunch/breakfast place. Oh yeah! They also serve breakfast! Haven't tried it yet, but they have a nice verity of choices. They have a kids menue too! read more

This is one of my favorite places to "meet up' with old friends. The atmosphere is urban chic and is very comfortable. I love their assortment of teas and enjoy trying new ones at the barista's recommendation. The breakfast burrito is delicious! For lunch, everything I've tried thus far has been delicious and I love that it is truly made from scratch. The soups are delicious as are the salads (with homemade poppy seed dressing) and the wraps. It isn't uncommon for me to meet a friend for tea at breakfast and still be there when the lunch crowd starts coming in. It's just that kind of place....relaxed and comfortable. Great little new brunch spot! Fresh, Fast, Clean, Friendly, Cozy, Chic. The food was fantastic. I ordered the Breakfast Platter - eggs perfectly cooked sunny-side up, thick cut whole grain toast, and amazing seasoned potatoes. My fiance ordered the Breakfast burrito - Large and in-charge with flavorful spicy kick. I love the counter-style service of placing an order at the counter and helping yourself to bottomless cups of Kaldi's coffee. The mix of modern seating is cool, however I could see this place getting packed quick because of the small size. Finding a breakfast place that is non-greasy and clean always seems to be a challenge, which Teaspoons conquered. This place was simply adorable! I got a bottomless cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich as I was passing through Edwardsville. It was exactly what you'd expect. For locals I could see why this place might be compelling. If you're traveling through Edwardsville you could do much worse than stopping here for a bite and a cuppa. read more

Be prepared if they mess up your order twice in a row they will act like it's your fault & not their mess up. No manager apologized or even would look me in the eye & try to make it right. I will give them credit to refunding me & giving me a new sandwich BUT that's only after I said something after the 2nd mistake on their part. Otherwise they were going to try to give me my old sandwich with what was supposed to be on there to begin with. In their anger they even gave me the wrong change back at first so I had to make the girl with the sleeve tattoo mad at me again to give me the correct change. People have bad days but customers should never be treated like this, good luck! read more

Update.... well Teaspoons has improved on their over-peppering the food finally. It still is a little too much though. Individuals can add additional pepper or salt for to suit their individual tastes. BUT... my issue is still with putting the butter and jelly in with the food for carry out! I mean it is still being placed inside the food container and not just in the bag or in a separate small container or small sack. Here is the problem with that, and just think about this.... An employee who handles cash, dirty dishes, touches their face, etc., handles the butter packets and jelly packets and then places those same packets that have had their germy hands on them, in with your freshly prepared food. NO restaurant should EVER be doing that! I am pretty sure that is probably a health code violation and if not, it definitely should be. I am not a germaphobe by any means, but this practice needs to stop! The second reason to not put the butter and jelly packets in with your food (mainly the butter packets for this particular reason), is that you are putting something soft (butter and probably cold), in with hot food. So in the 1.5 blocks to my office from Teaspoons, the butter has now liquified and you can no longer spread it on your toast or english muffin. And the really sad thing is the fact that when I have called and placed my carry out order, I have always told them to please put the butter and jelly in a separate container and not in with my food! Now granted, maybe the person who took the order over the phone is not the one who packed my carry out order, but they should have at least communicated with those who do pack the carry out orders. read more

I took my parents here for lunch, and cannot say that I was impressed. The menu was lacking, the service was just OK, and the seating was awkward. I was especially turned off after discovering that the Greek salad wasn't even served with Greek dressing. To me, that is not a Greek salad at all. One of my favorite easy laid back Sunday brunch go to places. I haven't had much of the coffee because I'm very picky about my coffee. I love the quesadilla and my son really enjoys the pancake with sausage and this kid is picker than I am! The hubs enjoys the coffee and tells me I am really missing out. Maybe next time I'll give it a shot....until then, add this place to your "to eat list". Fair warning though, the window sitting area is great unless it is sunny because you will get blinded. Thankfully, Teaspoons Cafe opens unpleasantly early to provide the single greatest salve for the workaday existential crisis: a breakfast burrito to rival the greatest the American southwest has to offer. A massive, steaming cylinder of eggs, sausage, cheese, and potatoes served with sour cream and green chili to rub on your bucking ego and quiet your screaming id, making the horrors of the coming day seem somehow manageable. Good, fresh food. Ordered the Croque Monsieur. Could be a tad bit crispier and less mustard but overall it was pretty good. Salad was crisp and rverythibg tasted fresh. Service was excellent and the food came out fast! Fir the price its a good value. I will be back when I'm in the area. read more

Simple, but very good food. We have only been here for breakfast, but they serve lunch as well. Their food is always fresh, well prepared, and comes out looking amazing! And they serve Kaldi's coffee so that is a big plus. The only real downside to this restaurant is the noise...they have high ceilings and when it is busy, which it usually is, then the conversations make it a bit hard to have a quiet conversation and you end up just as loud as the other tables. I'm glad Christina liked it so well but I'm not sure I'd put it above BreadCo in quality or price...although it was good. If I could give 3.5 stars I would but I'll have to use my "teacher's privalege" of rounding up since they have a good attitude. When I arrived at noon on a Wednesday, the place was close to full. About 2 dozen customers with only 8 tables. Since I felt guilty taking up a table for myself I sacrificed and sat at the window counter. The service was friendly and the wait was less than 10 minutes for food delivered to my seat on real serviceware (kudos!). The wrap and the salad were good, no real wow-factor for anything original, but definitely done right and extremely fresh. Fresh is good! Even though their signature drink is obviously tea, I didn't order any on this visit but went for the water which was tastefully displayed in a clear jar with lemon slices. 2 pieces of advice to the new place: take time to wipe tables even when you are busy and put some decorations on the walls - they are completely bare and with 25-30' ceilings, there is a lot of "nothing" to look at. But the place does look fresh and new. I'll be back for breakfast and write another review. Teaspoons is a great place for fresh, local favorites. They serve Kaldi's coffee, a personal favorite, and make really delicious smoothies and lattes. The menu features many healthy dishes that are decently priced, as well as many baked goods and a wide selection of teas. This is one of my favorite spots for brunch and lunch in the area, though it does get a bit noisy in there when a large crowd is present. They could use some sound baffling materials in their dining area, but the noise does not deter me from returning there each time I visit Edwardsville! read more

I have been eating at Teaspoons regularly since they opened. It's a modest sized place, always clean and it's a family run operation. These folks are the nicest people you ever want to meet. I'm especially fond of the fruit/granola/yogurt breakfast and the breakfast sandwich. The pancakes are as good as you will find anywhere and the soups are outstanding as well. Several of my friends are also regulars here. They are open from early breakfast to late afternoon and they're happy to provide carry out if you want to take a salad or something like that to work with you. Love their food! Both their breakfast and lunch are great. I often come on the weekend mornings and the place is full- which a great sign to me. All the employees I've encountered have been nice they greet you with a smile and are great at describing the menu items. The place is small so finding a seat might be tough during their busy hours. But I heard they are expanding soon and taking over the space next door. Which will be perfect!! I HIGHLY suggest they have a bus boy of some sort during their busy times. Tables are left dirty for what may seem like forever when you're a customer looking to find a place sit. Today I sat at the high chairs at the window and no one bothered to come clean up the dirty plates next to me.. I still enjoyed my food but I'm sure someone would've liked to sit there. Overall I will be back again. I did not give them 5 stars due to the wait for tables to be cleaned. read more

We went here because of the reviews on yelp and were SO disappointed. I was on vacation with my family (son and parents) and we were meeting my aunt for breakfast --- she lives very nearby and had heard good things about this place. Ambiance was fine...typical cafe-type place. I am gluten-free and there weren't a ton of options but that was okay. I ordered an egg and bacon breakfast. It was extremely plain and boring. But the worst was that the sticky buns were touted as THE thing to get...my mom and aunt each had one and they were HARD HARD HARD!!! They were clearly old and no one bothered to tell us. My dad had a cinnamon roll and SAME THING. Perhaps when they are fresh, they are good but it was extremely disappointing. read more

I didn't realize where we were I just woke up to eat so this is not my normal type place. I can't say it was bad because it was good for what it was but its not my style, I'm a grease and gravy guy and this was fresh and a little healthier. It was good enough I guess but I thought a little high, $30 for three average sandwiches seems high but I would rather pay the same for a chicken fried steak so not really their fault. I guess it didn't hurt me to eat a healthy type meal after the holidays anyway. If you want down home cafe food this is not it, but if all types of tea and fresh vegetables and salads is your style I can't see you not liking this place. read more
