I recently had Team Electric install a dedicated NEMA 14-50 outlet and a subpanel in my garage to support our 40-amp EV charger. In addition to having the main breaker on the opposite side of where we wanted the charger, our home has various features--such as downspouts, air conditioning units, and tricky pathways--that complicate the layout. Despite these obstacles, Steve and Ryan made the entire process seamless, and I was amazed by the quality of their work. We contacted Team Electric for a standard service on our Generac Generator that was purchased and install from them. We were quoted $220 over the phone. They did the service and suggested a new battery which we knew would be an extra charge. We received the invoice and the cost was $756. This is over 3 times the quoted amount and outrageous to say the least. A phone call to Team Electric provided no help or clarification. I used team electric for 220V outlet installation. They didn't mention anything about payment details when I asked them after the service but after 3 weeks of service, they sent me a receipt with just the amount due and that amount doesn't seem realistic. I asked them to provide the itemized bill or charge of labors and parts details. They denied providing the itemized bill but kept reducing the total amount due and said it was a math error. After 4 weeks of back and forth communication they sent me the bill with some details which didn't make any sense. After storming out without completing the work, he later that evening left fake negative reviews on my company's social media. Absolute butchers, overcharged for incomplete work, caused significant damage to our home. We had issues with our GC so TE is not 100% at fault. With that, our issues are much deeper. They wired the house with the wrong gauge wire, to cut cost (unknown to us and GC). we found outlets wired with 14g, when they should have been wired with 12g. to follow "code" they downsized the breakers. This repair might be to code, but it is not correct. We found places were the wire goes from 12, to 14 then back to 12g. The electricians had access to framing, still cut corners when pulling wires, well they just didn't. I keep finding unnecessary junction boxes all over, in some cases just feet from the panel. Our house has been assessed by 4 electrical companies since we fired team electric. all leave with head shakes at the quality of work they have left behind. Photos show one small area of the damage (of many) . this attic was a storage area. It had panels down and proper insulation. They pulled it all out, threw it in the corner, installed the incorrect cans so the paneling can never be put back. The stapled the wires to the beam, in some cases inches from a hole the wire could have been pulled. And pried old fixtures and just left them hanging. At the end, they had the nerve to ask $27,000.00 for the wiring (2300 sqft home and it was a partial renovation 2/3 the house) The wire sizing issue is huge, in fact we found an old review stating that Team Electric caused a fire doing the same exact technique. read more
