The Hot Spot Studios Fremont - Final: after glazing

This is almost identical to Color Me Mine but they actually offer more craft options here! You can…read morepottery paint, canvas paint, create mosaic art, make candles, or pot succulents. NO STUDIO FEES, so all you are paying is the price listed on the pottery itself. The store has a good amount of tables for parties of 2-4. And also 2 rooms dedicated for birthday or corporate parties. There's also 1 restroom onsite. As well as a separate sink outside the restroom to wash your hands when needed. They have a small selection of snacks and drinks for purchase, but still a nice option. It's a clean environment and the young staff are very friendly. Music is often playing in the background while you concentrate on your painting. My only recommendation for improvement is to provide a more sturdy plate or tray for the paint. Currently customers just squirt the paint on a card stock paper (similar to the size of a large index card) and are supposed to take that back to the table for painting pottery. It would feel much more secure and sturdy to carry with an actual tray or paper plate for the paint. I also felt like the paint was dripping off the edges of the paper since there was no lip and paint colors kept merging together since the paper index card wasn't laying flat. They also could have offered a few more paint color options. All in all, it was a great experience and so nice to have a crafty activity close to home. Pottery is usually ready for pick up within 1 week. Candles are ready to be taken home same-day.

No time limit and I like the tray they give. Easy to turn and paint. I also like the squeeze paint bottles that's helpful when doing fine lines. There are plenty of supplies: consisting of sponges, brushes, water cups, pencils and erasers. I brought my friend here for her birthday and we just spent 3 hours painting, listening to music and chatting. We visited on a Sunday and it was quiet/peaceful, not too crowded. Definitely will visit this place again in the future to paint more pottery.

With the auto belay, it's easier to clip on and just climb, so you can climb more reps also. Friendly staff. I learned some new tips from the belay test as their system is just a bit different from what I'm used to, but I love learning so it was great. Easy parking. Remember those days in the playground and their climbing structures? Well, as an adult, The Peak is the place to reignite that hobby and enjoy the sport with a rich community of professionals and enthusiasts. This huge facility is shared among The Peak's climbing structures, an indoor volleyball court, a casual restaurant, and a small arcade. There aren't many parking spots up front but around the back of the building, you'll see plentiful spots. Once you enter the building, head to the left through the glass doors where you'll see the many climbing walls speckled with multiple colored protrusions. The pricing is transparent and it's all available upfront. They do have day passes, multi-visit passes as well as memberships that will waive your entrance fee. In addition to the entrance fee, you may also be required to pay for the harness and shoe rentals (members get a discounted price). They also have chalk for the more advanced climbers. If it's your first time, consider completing the waiver online ahead of time. You may be asked to go through a quick orientation regarding the use of their auto-belay system, however if you already know how to belay traditionally, they may ask you to go through additional training just to be sure. Each wall seemed to feature a variety of colors to distinguish the different difficulty levels for more advanced climbers. Aside from the walls, they also have a huge structure designed for bouldering with a thick padded floor underneath. The boulder and auto-belay walls seemed the most popular but it didn't seem there was much waiting given the ample space in the facility. There was certainly enough climbing space for everyone. As a novice, the activity was fun and tiring; there's definitely a balance between technique and strength! Despite having entry for the whole day, we definitely were tired out within an hour of constant climbing and by hour two, it was just about time to leave and refuel. Fortunately, the location of this space is quite convenient due to having a restaurant right on site as well as its proximity to the highway and other eateries just a few minutes away. The staff were friendly and informative. Besides the initial onboarding, there wasn't much interaction with them. They seem to keep things organized, cleaned and well-maintained. Overall, The Peak does a fantastic job introducing the sport of climbing to the local community and providing a clean and safe environment for newbies and experts alike. The price is reasonable for an all day activity and even more so if you become a member. For kids, they also have camps to build a new passion and train them up as climbers. For the more serious climbers, you may want to consider investing in the equipment to further save on the rentals. If this is a new challenge for you, take the opportunity to get in on this sport! The Peak makes it relatively easy to pick this up and continue leveling up with each visit!

It was really fun working with colleagues in a different way. Directors to entry level engineers were on equal playing field making for fun a light competition between teams. The real competition though is between your team and the game to see if you can figure out the clues and put it all together. Tal was very responsive and easy to work with. As with most corporate events the actual head count fluctuated +-3. Tal was very accommodating and understanding of this. We are excited to try out the other events Bay Mystery has to offer!

Although we enjoyed the general plot of the scavenger hunt and liked the experience of narrowing down who the culprit was, we felt that the clues were excessively specific, as we had to skim through every label in each area of the museum to get the information we needed. I think we would've preferred more general clues where you could still enjoy the information in that area of the museum without having to work so hard to search through each line of text. I also felt like the clues given were not very connected to the objects in the museum, and the plot of the mystery didn't seem very relevant to the setting of the museum. This took us out of the environment of the museum and made the experience less enjoyable. I felt that the length of was too long at 2.5 hours, although if the clues hadn't been as specific, perhaps we would have been less mentally exhausted at the end. We felt that it was fairly easy to narrow down the culprit with a handful of clues, so I think it would have made for far more intrigue if the clues were more directly tied to the plot and involved more thinking rather than just piecing together tidbits of information. My biggest qualm was the price of the scavenger hunt. I felt like paying $60 for to cover the cost of the museum admission, the video at the beginning of the scavenger hunt, and the website that was made for the scavenger hunt was very unreasonable. An average escape room in the area is about $40 to $50, and escape rooms have much more upfront expenses for the organizers, including the cost of renting the space, the elaborate props, and the staffing. This was a fairly enjoyable one-time experience, but in the future I would just go to an escape room.
