Years ago I bought a C4 transmission. It was installed and the car started vibrating really bad. The mechanic removed the transmission and pointed out that the input shaft didn't look good and that it might have been the problem. My mechanic wasn't a transmission expert, but he observed that it was cleared that the input shaft was damaged. I didn't know much about transmissions so I took the input shaft back to the store. I described the problem to the employee and showed him the input shaft. He looked at it and he said, "I can give you another one so can replace it". I was very lucky that a very kind customer was next to me and when he saw what was going on he intervened on my behalf and said, " replacing the input shaft is not going to fix the problem; the damage on the input shaft shows that there is a transmission internal damage; the transmission is not good". The employee remained quiet and proceeded to fill out paperwork for an exchange. The employee dishonesty, lack of ethics and professionalism was going to cost me lots of money just in labor. Reinstalling the transmission with an input shaft that wasn't going to fix the problem, then removing the transmission one more time and coming back to the store to waste more time. Plus I would had to pay for labor to reinstall the new transmission. It is hard to believe that this employee didn't care at all about how much money I had already spent at Team C, plus all the labor expenses due to a defective internal transmission problem that he didn't want to acknowledge. I am extremely disappointed with Team C dishonest customer service. After reading the other reviews is hard to believe that Team C upper management don't care at all how customers are treated, because, juts like some of reviews mentioned, most of Team C employees have a bad attitude. After all, most of us have spent a good amount of money at this place for many years. I have been a customer for almost 30 years. I just wish to be able to see the customer who helped me from making my experience at Team C even worse. I will be very happy to thank him for his help and kindness one more time. I am very grateful for his help. Maybe Team C should try to find good people like him. read more

I don't go there unless I'm absolutely desperate, because they have the worst customer service ever. It's awkard sometimes, they don't greet and just stare at you. you definitely feel not! welcomed. also, if you ask a question they are very rude and short. they try to make you feel dumb in other words. Went there to get a fuel pump. Walked around the store and nobody even tried to help me. So when I eventually got help the young guy was rude. Didn't really want to help me. It was like I was bothering him. I bought the pump and left. 3 months later it died. I tried to get some help with it. They didn't even try to help me out with any information. So I called the manufacturer. And they replaced it forme. When speaking with other people they say that they have had similar issues with them. I'm good I will never go there again.. read more

They told me that they wouldn't return it because MY BOX WAS DIRTY WOW, they did nothing to assist me also very rude and not Concern at all, so Bottom line they gave a damn about me losing out of 250.00 and having a part that I can't use. Had my 1966 Chevy engine rebuilt here in 1993. I wish I knew the mileage on my truck back in 1993, but I don't have a clue. Engine still runs great! Love that truck. Would trust them to rebuild it again, but I don't think it will ever need it. Still remember that it was Mark that helped me 25 years ago. I'm not a high performance expert. I just wanted a good quality reliable rebuild. I sure got that. Every time a mechanic or car enthusiast starts the engine, they smile and say "sounds good!". That happened again today. read more

My Skin is My Sin! I went in to buy a flex plate for a 350 V8 Chevy motor and trans. I asked the clerk do he have on that would fit? He said yes and gave me one that was for a V6. I asked him would this fix because it says v6? He reassured me that it would work. I toke to the shop where I was getting the work done and the mechanic says it's the wrong flex plate. I called Team performance back and once again he said it's the write plate and that it should fit! I had the mech show me why it would not fit and he should me it was for a v6 and that it was too small. I called back team performance to replace or refund the flex plate and was told to bring it back. Due to the pandemic and I am an essential worker I would not be able to make it for a few weeks and was told no problem. After I wen to take it back I was tee as a lair and was asked if I had a recipe. I could not find it but did not keep it because I trusted the clerk to be a perfectionist. I believe that my skin was the reason I was treated like this. On the phone they was so nice but when I walked in the story changes to how do I know you brought this from us. These guys do as little as possible to facilitate the sale. I asked for a part in metrics and they acted like they never heard of the metric system before and just stood there like they couldn't speak English until I looked up the calculation. A sales person should be happy to look it up and figure it out in order to make the sale. My company is all car enthusiasts and we have a lot of money to spend at places like Team C and they make it as hard and as unpleasant as possible for a customer to actually spend money in there. Still a good place for High Performance parts their prices aren't bad either not quite as cheap as online but these guys really know thier stuff,ask for Robert or Mark. Good solid old school speed shop. I'm grateful there is still a place like this in LA. There is something to be said about being able to go into a store and being able to see something before you buy it. The prices here are really competitive. They also stock alot of hard to find stuff. I don't buy stuff off the internet. I don't really do Jegs or Summit. Owner seems like a good guy and treats me well. I usually deal with Angel. He's my go to guy. He really knows small block Chevys, he's always friendly and he seems to love his job. Some of the other sales associates are grouchy, so I try just to deal with the owner or Angel lol. Always worth the drive from the Westside or the South Bay. Great shop! read more

(which they did) He said they could have it by 2 PM I said go ahead and order and asked also if I could give two other batteries for disposal he said yes. I've been buying parts from Team C off & on for over 20 years. They're one of the only local mom & pop speed shops left, and being an enthusiast as well as working in the industry, I prefer to buy local when I can. My most recent experience, however, was awful. Looking for some performance spark plug wires on Saturday 2/4, I know that Team C carries these, so I head in. As I walk in, there is about 3 guys behind the counter. One is standing there with his energy drink, one is over in the corner doing who knows what, and the other is standing behind the register carrying on a conversation with one of his buddies who is sitting on a box of product about 5 feet away from the counter. I'm the only other person in there.....but I didn't get so much as a "Hi, hows it going?" or a "can I help you?". I was in there for several minutes. Looked at the plug wires, looked around for others on all of the other shelves. It's not a huge store, so I was in there for less than 10 minutes, but got nothing. Another customer walked in just after me, and received the same treatment. He left shortly after I did. I saw him walk out as I left the parking lot. I suppose my point is this......While there are not many small Mom & Pop type shops like this around, you would think that the customer service would be much better, or at least something. This is a business that is slowly dying with online and catalog retailers like Summit, Jegs, Amazon, etc. But these guys don't seem to care. As mentioned, I've been to Team C many times over the years, and when I first started going in there, guys like Ronnie were behind the counter. They would ask you if you needed help, talk to you if they had the time.....but they actually lived & loved it. I don't know what else to say, but I don't know that I'll be shopping there anytime in the near future. read more
